Tasty Tuesday: RAW Honey

I definitely adapted to my new environment.
First and foremost, the ocean water totally agrees with me. I’ve been to the beach many times and happy to report no itching which means no allergic reactions.
But I still have to be extra cautious especially we live in an area that is both residential and agricultural, which means farming is very common. Many unfamiliar insects are around us. Our home is situated in a farm of flowers . We also have fruit bearing trees and lots of beautiful plants. These lovely plants and trees means one thing POLLEN. My mom lately is having some difficulties due to her allergies. It was highly recommended by locals to have Raw Honey. Mom has been reading lots of natural way to prevent and/or get rid of her allergies and it seems that including Local Raw Honey in her diet seems to work.

How about ME? I LOVE Honey too.
Mom found this article from Whole Dog Journal, Click Here.
It is worthwhile reading especially if your dogs have allergies.
What is RAW Honey?
What’s the difference between Raw Honey and Liquid Honey (sold in store)?
The commercialized honeys are heated excessively through pasteurization in which many of its nutrients die. Yes, Raw Honey is known to be alive. Raw Honey is very minimally filtered in which not destroying its nutrients.

Raw Honey with Apple BananasMy mom prepared me some Apple Bananas with Raw Honey.
TASTY!
Apple Bananas with RAW Honey
Raw Honey has a milky texture which is a good assurance that it still contains its bee pollen granules,  vitamins, minerals enzymes and other nutrients. I wish I can recommend a particular brand of RAW Honey for you guys to try. But in order for RAW Honey to be effective especially to someone who has allergies, Raw Honey needs to be locally purchased in your area.

  5. Hey Sugar, Jet here.

Mom and I are SO glad you posted about raw honey… Mom recommends local raw honey all the time at the Farmers Market. :) And your Mom’s right, raw honey can help with allergies. And… Sugar… honey is sweet just like you…

  6. Hello Sugar! I’m glad you like honey – but you are sweet enough already ;-) My Weezie does not like honey or fruit – I’ve never had dogs that did, but that’s ok. Glad you love your new home. Wish I lived near the ocean again. Have a wonderful day :-)

  7. We love raw honey and we also take a1 tsp. a day for allergies. We get it from our local apiary so it’s made by local bees that gather the pollen from our area. I’m sure the raw honey will help your Momma’s allergies. Great post!

  8. The honey and bananas looks so yummy!!!!!

  10. Aloha Sugar, This was new info for me and I’m thankful you posted it. I take raw honey, for many things but I never heard of giving it to dogs-don’t know why, but I’ll finish reading the article and then subscribe to the newsletter. You have given us such great info here. As always, it is a joy to visit you.
