Apples, Apples, Apples … are one of my favorite healthy treats.
There are many kinds and colors of apples.
Are Apples Good for Dogs? YES
Apples are a good source of dietary fiber and Vitamin C.
Many believe that the Vitamin C can help hip dysplasia,
a very common ailment in large and purebred dogs.
It is considered a healthy snack for it is low in saturated fat and sodium.
Apples consist of omega-3 fatty acids which provide a shiny healthy coat
and help prevent skin allergies (which I have).

One IMPORTANT thing you need to be cautious in feeding your dog an apple are the seeds. APPLE SEEDS contain trace amounts of substance called amygdlin which is a form of cyanide and it is very poisonous. Cyanide hinders the blood from carrying oxygen throughout the body. If your dog swallows a few seeds, their body will detoxify itself. However, crucial harm can occur if your dog consumed large amounts of apple seeds, A simple suggestion on

Cut the apples into bites size (depending on the size of your dog)

Sprinkle it with cinnamon.
Bake it for 20 minutes.
Let it cool before serving.
Optional: Serve it with (homemade) apple sauce

We will try that Sugar, thank you. We have both started eating apples and that seems to be our favourite – neither of us is at all keen on bananas.
Our mum thinks we would like your recipe and it is very simple.
Of course we will insist on the large white plate with the drizzle of apple sauce – presentation, we are sure you will agree, is everything to us dogs!!!
love and kisses

mmmm looks very yummy
Yumzers and mom says, "so very pretty too!" Your mom is such a good cook – my mumzer doesn't make too much for me – I always seem to be on a diet ugh. I keep getting into things that the kids drop when they come over, or other dogs' treats hehee! You look perpetually bootiful, Sugar and it's probably due to great treats like this!
Hugs xo

Oh my goodness Sugar! You are beautiful! I was just about to run to the store to get some apples for my moose based on one of the suggestions from another reader. I knew it was ok to give apples to dogs but was not sure if they were good for them or not so your post was most informative!
If you give up on Kongs then the carrot shoved in there would probably be more than you were interested in. My Moose has ridiculously strong jaws so he can get the carrot out in no time! It is nice meeting you and I will have to poke around more later. THanks for stopping by!
Hi Sugar! Wow those apples sure do look yummy!! They've one of my fav fruits! Mommy sometimes give me a piece and it would last me say 10-15 minutes. I just had to modify it's shape!
Cheers,
Maxx
Hi Sugar,
Happy to meet you…
Our mom has had 3 Goldens and you remind her of long-lost Brandy (RIP).
Mom's gonna try the apple snacks!
Hugs and Rubs,
ZAck, Sassy and Buddy
Hey Sugar! I'm you 100th follower, that's pretty cool!
Your apple recipe sounds yummy. It's a good thing the humans here didn't mash all of the apples into cider.
Thanks for visitin my blog.

I like apples too. Yummm. I like them fresh when mom eats them in the evening. She also dehydrates them for me. I'll have to tell her about the cinnamon though. Beautiful presentation picture there.

Hi Sugar!
Thanks for coming over to sniff around on my blog! It's always great to meet new furiends!! I only have one other Golden pal, Max from South Africa. That was some great info in your post (didn't know about the apple seeds) – you are a smart ol' gal. What a great pedigree too (we love GOG, being agility competitors ourselves). You also have a fantastic-looking blog – so well laid-out & organized!!
