Holiday stockings are traditions to many households.
If you have a pet for sure you have a holiday stocking for him or her.
3 basic materials you need to make a
Holiday Stocking
Holiday Stocking
1) sock patterns
2) 4 pieces of fabric
(2 for the outside, 2 for the inside or lining)
3) small piece of fabric for the hanger
My mom used scrap fabrics for the front fabric.
She basically sewed small pieces of fabric together (peppermint candy and multicolored bone fabrics)
To have the same sizes make sure to cut together the fabrics.
Gather the 4 fabrics.
Place the right side together and sew the edges (sides & bottom).
For the lining leave a 2”opening on one side (do not sew it)
Place the right side together and sew the edges (sides & bottom).
For the lining leave a 2”opening on one side (do not sew it)
Make tiny clips. Make sure to not cut the stitches.
This makes it easier when you pull the fabric inside out.
Turn the outside fabric inside out. Place it inside the lining.
Match the top edges. Place the holder inside. Sew around.
FUN part …
Pull the outside fabric from the lining 2” opening.
Sew and close the 2″opening.
Then put the inside lining through the outside fabric. Once again match the edges and sew around the top.

hey Sugar,
Love the last photo of you next to your pawsome stocking! You look so happy and excited! Probably because you know what is coming and what your stocking is going to be filled with! ;->
Thanks to your mom for sharing this great idea. Dogs need stockings too, or Santa won't have any place to leave our Christmas treats and toys! So Yay! to your mom for making doggy stockings!
Suka
That is one amazing stocking, Sugar!!!

Teddy Bear & Sierra
That's beautiful. But as there are four of us and SHE doesn't sew, I don't think we'll get beautiful homemade stockings.

Sugar, that is a beautiful stocking!
Our pets have stockings but not homemade ones. I think I could make one though IF I had a sewing machine. It looks easy enough.

That is a great stocking. MOM wants to know if they can be made with duct tape and staples? That would be the only way I'd get a homemade one.

Martha Stewart called and said she is impressed!!! 🙂
I think it's wonderful Sugar. I hope you get lots of treats in your Christmas stocking too. I've a feeling that you will along with some great toys.

Boondocks & The Love Shack Pack
We use Dad's socks and chew are way to Santa's goodies. However, Mom is thinking about crocheting us some to hang up for decorative purposes this year.
Looks like an adorable stocking.
You know what Sugar, you should make one for me. The Missus has been so busy lately because we just moved into our new house and, with Christmas coming up, I think she's going to be swarm with tons of things to do.
Love,

Really cute stocking!
Sugar,
You might just have the most amazing mom!
I agree…dogs need stockings too!
I am for sure showing this to my mom, but it's been awhile since she sewed anything….she says it was way before MY time!?
Let's hope it happens!
You and your mom are SO creative! I have a stocking, but it is just a generic red one from Target.
Your pal, Pip
Riley for sure has a stocking (although I couldn't exactly find it last year, but I've found it since then so she'll have it for this year!). Your stocking is awesome though and it looks plenty big for lots of yummy treats and fun toys!
