My mom loves to munch on these nuts. Unfortunately, its not for dogs to munch.
These nuts can be toxic.
Macadamia nuts are popular and grown here in Hawaii.
It’s high phosphorus content is said to possibly lead to bladder stones.
Also, within 12 hours of eating macadamia nuts, a dog can start to develop symptoms such
vomiting, tremor of the skeletal muscles, inability to stand,
hyperthermia and elevated heart rate.
Dangerous … so my mom is very careful when she munches on these nuts.

Hey Sugar, Jet here.
OMD! Who knew? Thank you for sharing… I LOVE walnuts, Mom will have to recheck and make sure they are ok for me… in small tidbits of course!
Wow, thanks for the warning! I’ll make sure Momma is careful if she has those around us.
They do look tasty, but please stay away from them Sugar!! We don’t want you to get sick!!

I hardly ever eat Macadamia nuts and hadn’t heard that they were poisonous to dogs. Thanks for sharing. I’ll be sure to NOT to share them with my boys the next time I have some.
Yummy they are too. It’s not fair that you can’t have them Sugar, but you can’t.
Have a woof woof day. My best to your mom. 🙂
HI Suger
One Christmas I found a bag of Dark Chocolate Kisses with Macadamia Nuts inside. Mom was at work so I helped myself and ate the whole bag (including the aluminum foil wrappers). When Mom got home she was really mad and worried. She said that that was two of the worst things I could eat. I guess foil is ok. She said it was too late to make be throw up (I hate it when she does that to me) so she made me sit with her all night and she kept checking me to be sure I was ok. Nothing happened so I don’t know what she was so upset about.
She doesn’t leave good stuff like that around anymore.
Very interesting, Sugar – I will be sure to stay way far away from macadamia nuts!

When mom is on her iPad the letters a small and she makes mistakes…like misspelling my name. Today she typed Mafi instead of madi
We have never had those in our house so we never even got to beg for them. Best to stay away from them and all nuts, Sugar. We’ve even heard that peanuts are bad for us doggies but not peanut butter. Go figure!
Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
Thanks for the info on those nuts Sugar! I will make sure my Mom doesn’t even buy them!
Lovies, Miss Mindy
I don’t really like nuts, so this is okay with me! Thanks for the warnin’ thou, sometimes Ma likes to indulge, and she wouldn’t want to drop any within my reach.
Kisses,
Ruby
I know about onions, raisins, chewing gum, chocolate and garlic…but I didn’t know nuts were dangerous too!
Thanks for the info Sugar! Our mommy loves those too especially the chocolate covered ones which are doubly bad.
We knew these where one of the big no nos too so mom is pretty careful with them. Thanks for the reminder

I think your paws are tooooo close! Don’t grab any Buddy!
Thank you Sugar for this warning, I’d never heard it before. However since I like mine covered in dark chocolate, I definitely wouldn’t share anyway. You are always so kind to share safety tips with us.

Mama has a list on the fridge of what’s bad for me but she says she sure used to like to eat those nuts!
Glad you are staying away from those, Sugar!! I munch on acorns, which also can be iffy if I eat too many. I guess that’s why Mom says “leave it” when I find one.
Deliciuos and soooo dangerous!
Take care
Kisses and hugs

I did not know that. I better let my MOM know cuz she loves loves nuts.
Sugar even your paws are beautiful.
Blessings,
Goose
Good reminder!!
My dad loves snacking on nuts and also likes sneaking tidbits to their dog.
So, when I’m at home, I always remind him “No nuts for the dog!”
My parent’s dog is nuts enough already, as it is. 🙂
