It has come to my attention that I have embarrassing beach behaviors.
I was informed that I have TDHD, Temporary Dog Hearing Disorder.
Do I? I don’t think so …
Apparently, when I’m told its time to go I look the other way …
I was just thanking the ocean for a joyful swim.
However, there are times I want to go for another round of swimming.
I find that sitting and looking the other way is a good clue to send a message …
Hana Hou! Hana Hou! Hana Hou!
Hana Hou is a Hawaiian word that means Do It Again or One More Time.
Another complaint that has come to my attention is about my BARKING.
I hardly bark. I only bark when it is necessary.
My mom says I BARK! BARK! BARK! at the beach.
It seems that my barking has been soooo loud that white stuff comes out of my mouth.
Well, I’m just sending a message and I can only do it through barking.
I want to go for another round of swimming and retrieve my toy.
I am a Golden Determined to get into the water, swim and retrieve my toy.
What do you think? Did I get to swim again?
Lots of Golden L♥VE n Woofs
SUGAR
Oh Sugar this was great. I have found that communicating (barking) is an effective way to get what you are asking for. And if the humans did not have THHD (temporary Human Hearing Disorder) then maybe we would not bark so much. Love that happy last photo. It really shows how much you love the beach.
Blessings,
Goose
I think you were very persuasive and got your wish for another round of swimming!
We can TELL how much you love the beach Sugar!!! Bet it is so cool living at the beach!! We also think that your mom probably let you go in the water…just one more time!! xoxo Chloe and LadyBug (who also love the beach, but don’t get to go there NEARLY enough!)
I have no doubt about it…mom caved!! bol!
No one could ignore your happiness and sweet face, Sugar! We’re sure ‘hana hou’ was in your immediate future.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Hey Sugar, Jet here.
ABSOLUTELY… you clearly, proactively communicated your needs and desires. This should be justly rewarded.
The only caveat (VBP) comes from Mom…
Sweet Sugar, when the sun begins to fade, shark time rises and your Mom wants to keep you safe. If she asks you to leave the beach at twilight, please listen. 🙂
Hearing shmearing, you do it perfect, buddy! Look away and pout 🙂
Cotton
MOL MOL Sugar TDHD…that is hilarious. I’ pretty sure TDHD is cured by dips in the Pacific!!
Mom says I was born w selective hearing…I hear what I select to hear like kibble being opened etc.
Hugs Your BFFF Madi
If your Lady loves you, you got to swim again, if she is mean you didn’t.
Looks like so much fun! Phod (Lee thinks swimming is stupid).
the evidence shows, you did bark, you did turn your head and you did go swimming. Baby suffers from the temporary hearing disorder, jake does not. baby barks her head off and jake does not…
I don’t blame you one bit. i will trade you this cold and snow for your sunny beach any day.
Of course you got to swim again…..Who could ever say NO to that face (or all the barking)!
🙂
Of course you can go swimming again! You know how to make sure your voice is heard!
How else are you going to be understood?
Sam
We think you got to swim again. Who could says NO to that face? Mommy says she would be begging to swim in that beautiful water, too. Happy Monday, Sugar. XOXO
Oh Sugar, you crack me up and make me want to go out and get a Golden Retriever for my Newfie/Lab, Y-Bo to play with! Hope you get back to the ocean soon!
BOL happens all the time!
Nola
I sure hope you got to swim again Sugar! Good move on the ignoring! LOL! You look so darn cute when your barking, I’m sure your Momma can’t resist! 🙂
I’m thinking you got to have that last swim. I know how things work here with our Little Bit. It’s all about her. I’m sure it’s all about you too.
Have a woof woof day Sugar. My best to your parents. 🙂
Sure looks like you got that swim in the ocean. All wet and happy.
We hope you got to go in the water again! And sometimes a dog is just so happy and having so much fun…she just has to celebrate by barking! 🙂
Great post! That last pic is awesome!
Great pictures Sugar — And I always practice the “look the other way” plan whenever my humans want me to do something I don’t want to do. 🙂
You sure do look like you love the beach, you are so lucky to be able to go all the time
urban hounds
I sure you bet you got to swim again Sugar! No one could could say no to you!
Thanks Sugar, now I can learn hawaiian too – that’s just great ;o) Have you met the white shark or Nemo?
I hope you got to swim again !!
Sugar, we don’t blame you for barking! We think you’re one very lucky dog to get to go to the beach! Woofs from Jeffie and Rudy
THHD (temporary Human Hearing Disorder) we call selective hearing. BOL we know that one. Have a great beach Monday Sugar.
Best wishes Molly
Oh, who could say no to that cute face?? My pup, Rita, has TDHD too – but not when we are leaving; it’s when she sees the lady that she knows brings treats to the beach. She can’t hear Momma for anything once she sees Treat Lady!
Who could deny you another swim in that wonderful ocean?! You’re a natural islander, Sugar – you look great on that beach! 😀
Hey Sugar!
Wow, I have selective hearing too! We only need to listen and obey when it really suits us. More swimmie time is a total priority. As to that white stuff…I think that’s sea foam! BOL
Grr and Woof,
Sarge, COP
Well I know how hard it would be to turn down your request for me so I bet your mom let you have another swim.
Oh, I definately think you gots that extra swim!! Who could resist that face, anyway?
Kisses,
Ruby
Sounds to me like your mom is not reading your signals correctly. Who in their right mind would want to leave the beach anyway? Certainly not you or me 😉
I sure hope you got to swim again!
Lovies, Miss Mindy
Yes! Yes I think you did Sugar! Gosh that looks like so much fun!
Sugar, it looks like you’re having a blast! You should pop over and see what my duck, Jimmy, does while he swims. He doesn’t listen, either.
Oh Sugar you are cracking up. Mom calls it selective hearing.
Benny & Lily
Of course you swam some more. Good for you. Toby went to the beach yesterday too.
Well of course pure joy cannot be contained! We really liked that last picture too. You looked soooooo happy!
Your Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
You put up a very good case for another round of swimming and I bet you won!
I hate when it’s time to leave the beach too. It sure looks like you had a heck of a time Sugar.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the barking pictures! Not listening and barking is what dogs do, isn’t it? teehee
the brown dawgs
Mom says we all suffer from THDH too and we don’t even go to the beach. At least Phantom has an excuse because he doesn’t hear very well anyway.
Happy beaching !
Woos – Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
Goldens and barking…like peas and carrots!
I think you must love the beach as much as I do!
Yep, we bet your mom let you swim some more!
Sugar, We think that you should keep swimming as long as you want…Bark On, Sister!!
Wyatt and Stanzie
I sure hope so Sugar!!
If I was there I wouldn’t want to leave either!!
Have fun,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Who could say no to you, Sugar? I think you enjoyed another swim. Looks like you had a great time at the beach.
