Mom asked me to go with her to get some CHEESE.
Cheese is one of my favorite tasty treat.
Oh I immediately thought of the Mars Cheese Castle … Exciting!
But we are going to a goat farm where they make goat cheese.
Can dogs eat goat cheese? YES (of course in moderation)
Goat milk/cheese has long been a traditional recommendation for the lactose intolerant.
The drive to the goat farm, Surfing Goat, was a bit bumpy and lots of turns.
We finally arrived and immediately saw some goats in the pastures.
Oooops! No Dogs Allowed.
It’s okay, as always mom left the windows open while she shopped for cheese.
I totally understand as it is a working farm and they have their own dogs that watch the farm.
Surfing Goat is located on the beautiful slopes of Maui’s Haleakala crater in lower Kula.
Their cheese are not only delicious but also award winning.
It was a very special day to visit the Surfing Goat, as many baby goats were born recently.
They use surfboards to help the young goats established their footing.
Mom not only got some cheese, she also had some of their goat cheese truffles and goat soap. She promised to share some of the goat cheese she bought.
If you are in Maui, Hawaii, plan to visit Surfing Goat.
They offer an affordable goat farm tour. It’s also great if you have young kids.
It will be a very educational and an enjoyable visit.
The cheese in Surfing Goat was amazingly divine. Delish! Tasty!

I have to give Blueberry goat cheese too cause she um, well, she’s lactose intolerant although she’ll never admit that in public. But trust me, she is.
I think it smells a little like butt cheese – but she loves it! She especially likes it when I mix it into ground beef to make her meatballs. Butt cheese meatballs! Just kidding – goat cheese. It’s definitely a different taste and smell!
Those goats are so very pretty!!!
That is the nicest goat farm I have ever seen. Love the palm trees on the coast. My neighbour has goats, you are always welcome to come visit them here!
Mom loves goats, she said that if they did not smell so bad she would love to have some but honestly, I think dogs are a better option! Enjoy your cheese 🙂
