As I previously posted, I’m currently a City Dog (just for a couple of weeks).
Not having a backyard is one of the disadvantages.
I have to walk on sidewalks. It’s been cold and snowing so the sidewalks are salted.
Due to my allergies and for safety reasons, I have to wear dog boots.
I really don’t have a say in this case, a Dog Boots is a “must” for me to wear.
There are variety of dog boots but my mom selected PAWZ.
Here I am the first time I wore my Purple PawZ Boots …
strutting in the snow and salty city sidewalk.
It’s not uncomfortable.
It has a traction control that helps on slippery snow and/or icy grounds.
I am seriously getting the hang of walking on cemented/brick sidewalks wearing my PawZ.
PawZ Dog Boots are made of waterproof natural rubber.
In each package there comes 12 boots= 3 sets of boots.
It’s great that it is reusable. It can be easily rinsed with water after each use.
It’s been a week since I used Paws Boots and I’m doing well with it.
My peeps have learned some techniques on how to put it on my paws, it is not my favorite.
I think its one reason many dog owners that have bought/tried Pawz give up.
Hope these tips/suggestions are helpful.
How to Put PawZ Boots on Your Dog’s Paw
1) Stretch the top (opening) really wide.
At first it is very hard to stretch but its made of rubber and its flexible. Hold the stretch.
It’s great if you really have a big hand just like my dad (hands above).
2) Grab the paw. (very tricky, just have to do a trial an error which works well).
3) Slip in the PawZ.
4) Always praise your dog while putting on the PawZ.
5) Provide enough Time and requires lots of Patience.
Don’t give up. It gets easier and easier putting on PawZ .
PawZ has been a part of my outside winter routine.
Suggested Dog Positions to Put on the PawZ Boots
1) Stand position between your human’s legs.
Human’s have a better grip to hold the dog’s paw and slip on PawZ.
This is a fun position mom taught me. It’s the position we often use.
2) Lying on the floor. I call it a silly position.
3) Siting/lying down on the couch, my favorite position.
PawZ is washable. You don’t need to dispose it on just one use.
Well, depending how dirty it is. Just make sure you use your best judgment as PawZ is washable.
My mom washes them every time I use it and wipe/air dry it.
(If you wash/rinse it, make sure check the inside for water.)
One thing my mom learned and wished she did first was to let me try PawZ indoors.
She suggests to put on Pawz and let your dog walk around the house with it.
In the beginning, I had a hop in my walk … mom said it was a funny walk.
Also a very important reminder, make sure your dog’s nails are properly trimmed.
Probably your thinking, “My dog would never wear any rubber reusable dog boots.”
Wearing protective dog footwear is very important especially if your dog has allergies and for protection from harmful chemicals on the ground.
It’s currently winter and helpful for walking on snow, salty sidewalks and frost bites.
The PawZ boots is like a sock and once it’s on it’s on.
Your dog will have full motion of movement and will have a safe time outdoors.
I give PawZ waterproof rubber dog boots 4 Golden Paws.
Golden Happy to recommend it.
We’ve seen many small/medium dogs wearing Pawz not many large dogs.
I get lots of compliments and lookers while strutting in the city wearing my Purple PawZ Boots.
Lots of Golden L♥VE n Woofs
SUGAR
I’m joining this post to Monday Mischief as I can be mischievous
putting on my PawZ especially when I am lying down on the couch.
We think you look very sharp with your purple PAWZ, Sugar and we’re glad to hear you are avoiding all those harsh chemicals people use. Have a happy Monday! XOXO
Freedom, Casper & Nikki also have purple PawZ. We don’t wear them often, but like to have them around just in case.
You do look good in them. I have tried boots before. MOM got them for me for when we go back packing and if some of the terrain is rocky. But I have to be honest I did not like it, not at all. But I have not tried the Pawz. I can see the advantage of wearing them on salty surfaces. It is important not to get that stuffs on us.
Blessings,
Goose
I got boots for Christmas one year–a terrible present! I refused to have anything to do with them. My mom got one on after much effort and I just pushed it off. They went back where they came from.
It is good that you can have safety and be stylish at the same time. We are lucky we live in the country now and don’t have to deal with salt. Happy Walking! Lee and Phod
it is good to protect the paws from that salt – but they sure don’t feel good on our feet !
Sugar
OMDs purple rain boots. You are such a fashionista!! I know what you mean about not liking putting them on…I don’t like for anyone to mess with my tootsies either. Sometimes my daggers come out unintentionally.
Hugs your BFFF
Madi
I’ve added a link for them to my favorites – you just never know! However, I kind of see a trip to the emergency included with putting them on Monty… Just saying…
Sam
Momz sez that if we lived in cold places I’d be wearing boots too…That salt can really hurt paws…You are looking quite stylish in royal purple Sugar and your instructions should help other hoomins get boots put on easier Happy Mischief Monday!
I know getting use to boots is difficult. It was tricky for Mollipop at first too. But now she does really good and I absolutely love your purple Pawz boots! You’re stylin’ in the city now girl!
Big hugs for mommy and you! 🙂
You look very stylish Sugar! I dislike boots (except for chewing) but maybe the color is the reason? They bought ORANGE boots for me ;o)
They look pretty snazzy, and way better than getting yucky salt on your feet.
If those boots help your paws when you’re out on your walks, then they are worth any adjustment it takes to get used to wearing them. I think they look pretty cute too! Your photographs are gorgeous! p.s. I’m glad you got us back on your reader!!
tell our mom that wolves live in the wild and snow and ice and don’t have purple boots…
Thanks Sugar! Santa Paws brought Finn some PawZ but we haven’t tried them yet since we haven’t been walking in town – I will definitely refer back to your excellent advice when we do!
We know all about this as our Little Bit is highly allergic to lots of things. This is an excellent post on how to help in keeping our babies protected as best we can.
Have a woof woof day. My best to your mom. 🙂
THOSE look GRRRRREAT.
Happy to see some that actually work! Very cute.
wow you look good Sugar! Thanks for teaching others how to use the boots 🙂
you are one patient doggy! There isn’t a snowball’s chance in Hell that I would wear those! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
We think you look very nice in your boots and purple really is your colour. Thanks for all the information Sugar. We think you are very clever to wear those and prevent any chance of more allergies. Have a marvelous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Sugar, you make strolling look good.
You are very stylish, Sugar! Your purple boots would match my purple coat.
Those are some neat booties you got there, Sugar. I’m looking at those for my dogs too 🙂
Aw! Those are great tips Sugar! I bet that is going to help a lot of dog owners out! I lvoe your purple boots and glad to hear that they are keeping your paws protected! Hope your enjoying the snow!
Those look good on you, Sugar! Question, though… When the boots tighten on your feet, don’t they cut off the circulation?
Sugar, you look lovely in purple! And, thanks for the tips!
Glad Mom was able to find something to protect your feet.
I can’t stand having my feet covered but my sister has had to wear “shoes” occasionally and she does well with any kind, the only thing is that they wear our fast if she is walking on pavement.
Sugar, those boots were made for walkin’! It is true you need to protect your paws from the salt…so I am glad you are wearing them boots!

Good for you, Sugar, for wearing your boots on the nasty sidewalks! I hope they keep you safe.
You poor thing! Mom can’t even get me to wear a coat and we live here! Have you tried musher’s wax for your paws? Much easier (& no one can tell you are wearing it)! Love Dolly
PS Just got back from a long walk in my PARK and ice and snow almost gone now!
Stylish!
Nola
We can certainly understand having to wear those booties. All of that salt in not at all good for a dawg’s paws. Glad you are getting used to them. 🙂
Wow those are some snappy boots Sugar!! I’ve been really considering getting some boots for Sampson and Delilah because during the winter we walk on the roads. So far we haven’t had a lot of snow so there’s not been a lot of salt on the road, but we recently had some big snow so I’m worried about their paws.
I’m still debating on which boots I’ll get. So I appreciate all boot reviews. 🙂 Woofs to you.
You look very snazzy in your purple PawZ. They are getting more popular in NY. Mom tried to buy me a set and three stores were sold out of smalls. I have other boots that I hate. They get really wet and I don’t like the they feel. From what you say I may not hate the PawZ.
Those are good tips but don’t give my mom any ideas!

Sugar, you’re such a good girl and so beautiful that it’s no wonder you’re such a superstar!
BOLBOLBOL and you’re balancing one on your head! You sure are funny Sugar! We’ve tried shoes but I don’t like them and managed to get out of them quickly, what prevents these from slipping off!
I love your purple booties!
Those pretty purple boots look great on you, Sugar!
Very chic, Sugar! Pawz are also good for dogs that are in wheelcarts so their back feet don’t get hurt from dragging on the floor. I hope you get your own backyard soon so you can get out there and romp and play. Hugs from Dakota the corgi and me in Austin, TX!
