By now, we are hoping to see some flowers on the ground but Spring has not yet sprung.
So Mom decided to make me some flower cookies with sweet potato and strawberries.
Sweet Potato Berries Flower Dog Treats
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of sweet potato
3/4 cup of flour
1/2 cup of strawberries
1-2 tbs of honey
1-2 tbs of oil
Place the strawberries and honey in the blender. Set it aside.
Combine the sweet potato and flour.
Stir in the blended strawberries and honey.
Add the oil. Adjust liquid (water) as necessary to make stiff dough.
Roll on floured surfaced. Cut with flower shaped cutter.
Place on a cookie sheet/mat. Bake it for 2-3 hours in 250 degree oven until thoroughly dry.
(Cooking time may vary depending on thickness of the dough and your oven).
For extra crunchy, leave the treats inside the oven to cool-off.
Greek Yogurt with Blackberries liquid and a small piece of strawberry
was used to top the flower cookies.
Can you tell mom had a little fun from the photos above …

How do you store your treats? I put ours in the fridge, but after a couple of days I worry about feeding them to the boys. How long do home made treats last?

I’ll have to find some cookie cutters — I haven’t done any baking in YEARS. I’ll look in Target the next time I go.
I’ll bet our Little Bit would love these, but she can’t have flour. She’s allergic to so many things that she gets two shots every month. Bless her heart.
