It’s been weeks now, living in the city.
I shared with you the parts of living in a high rise , elevator rides as part of my daily routine.
I also shared with you Tweaking My Beach Body post places I go for a walk.
I mentioned a parking garage adjacent to the building I’m temporary living in.
Guess what? The top floor has a dog run.
I guess mom missed reading about this benefit as one of the building perks.
On my Welcoming the Month of March post, I gave of a glimpse of the dog run.
It is located on the 6th floor.
It is fenced and on one side it is protected by a cement wall.
The grounds are made of artificial grass and pea rocks.
There’s a doggy poop bags and small trash by the gate.
A faux fire hydrant filled with sand peaked my curiosity.
It’s about 15 yards but it’s good enough for me to do my Golden Run. I do a lot … back n forth.
Since it is located on the top floor, tall buildings are the main scenery.
There are many pets living in the building but most of them are tiny/small dogs.
I’ve seen some of them in the dog run but they are unfriendly and did lots of woofing to me.
I’m joining this post to Monday Mischief, I am good as always but mischief goes to my mom not knowing earlier this dog run and those unfriendly dogs.
Lots of Golden L♥VE n Woofs
SUGAR
That is such an awesome perk for a building to have! Ingenious! I don’t know if a lot of buildings around here have high-rise dog runs, but they definitely should.
Also, those boots are awesome/hilarious.
I’m glad you’ve got a good place to run around, Sugar! And I hope you will meet some friendlier pups soon too 🙂
This seems really nice to me. It’s good to have options.
That is a neat place. We hope that pic of the snow melting is a current one and nicer days are on the way! Happy Monday,Sugar. xoxoxo
It’s nice that you can do some running even in the middle of a big city.
Very cool Sugar! You look great running and you look like you are loving it!
I do not like unfriendly dogs barking at me either! That dog run looks kind of fun! At least you get some running in. I hope you can find a nice park nearby. That is where I love to walk and climb hills for my exercise time.
Ok, love your boots, but I am wondering why you wear them all the time? Just a question from a fellow golden.
That is pretty cool, there are buiding in nyc and jersey city that have that but I have never seen one. Come by our blog and enter our shutterfly give away
urban hounds
Woof Woof! We just had a herd of sheep pass by our back garden…. and my neighbours, Yuma and Yukon the huskies went out to welcome the sheep to the neighbourhood. I watched them round them up from my conservatory and joined in, by barking instructions. I think Yuma did a good job but the shepherd though otherwise and called the police. All was well and Y and Y human Mum now realises that the gate she has is not quite so dog-proof 🙂 BOL!
That’s a fabulous place for golden runs… but this elevator thingy is very scary for me …imagine, a moving room …uh…
Wow Sugar a dog run…I would have never guessed but oh what a great idea for the city pups.
I love love love seeing your golden ears fly in the wind.
Hugs madi your BFFF
Not a place to make friends I guess, but it sure is a nice run! Great pictures Sugar!
How could any doggie be mean and woof at you – don’t they know you are sweet as sugar – they are just jealous of the wonderful life you have.
what a fantastic idea…. glad mom found it for you…. you are a good dog to be friendly and not like the snooty city dogs….
Well….that is pretty spiffy Sugar. Who knew?? Love the purple boots!! how long you gonna be in Chicago?
We are all gonna get lotsa snow tonight!!

Jazzi and Addi
I don’t understand woofin’ at ya Sugar. If I woofed at ya it would be a “lets play” woof. We could have races down the grassy strip. That would be fun fun fun.
Blessings,
goose
Wow, Sugar! That looks fantastic! Lucky you!
And PS: I guess Mom’s don’t REALLY know everything, do they??
Sugar that is a grrrrreat place fur you to have some fun. Sorry that the other dogs don’t want to be furends.
How could your momma miss something as pawsome as that?! I’m so glad you found a place to run.
Hey, that’s really great! Looks like there is a good space to run. I have to say though that I’d be scared of my wild rambunctious ones in a place like that unless the walls are really high. One time, Azule jumped almost to the top of the five foot fence after a bird that flew by!
That’s a pretty good idea for city dwelling dogs. You must miss the beach though.
Yup…us wittle pups sure can make lots of noise when we want to. Mom doesn’t like high places, especially outdoor high places. She probably thinks her will fall off da edge or sometin. Or think that we wittle ones would scour that big cement wall and fly to the street below. Butt….her just worries too much.
Have fun, Sugar! Do you miss the beach yet?
Oh, Sugar, look at you run! I’m so happy your mom found the roof!
I’m glad you have a run right there in your building. That’s a good thing. What I’m confused about is why are you back in the states and not in Maui. I must have missed something. At first I thought it was a visit, but it’s been a long time.
Have a woof woof day Sugar. My best to your mom. 🙂
Shame on those unfriendly dogs! How could they be unfriendly to the most FRIENDLY doggy ever!?
xoxo
That is so cool to have a run right there on the top floor of your building!
This is so neat and beautiful with all the scenery! I am afraid of heights and probably wouldn’t be as brave as you, Sugar!
Wow Sugar, that looks like so much fun! You have your very own dog run up there! Living in a city comes with some great perks.
Oink oink,
Katie and Coccolino the mini pig
Mom found you a great spot!!
Looks a bit weird to me, mom took me to an indoor dog park which was weird too but hey it is something new and different and worth trying out.
That is so cool you have a rooftop to hang out on! Lucky dog!
That’s cool that the building has a special place for you! Looks like you have some good room to run.
Happy Monday!
Wow, what a lucky find, and you sure seem to be enjoying yourself. Much better than a parking garage. Those little dogs are all woof. You don’t need to worry about them. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
Oh boy Sugar, that looks like a fun place where I can really really run!
Well how cool is that! Wonderful that they provided a safe place to run. Walks are nice, but sometimes a dog’s gotta run! I’m sure there are many pluses and minuses to living in a big city. The key is to love where you are!
It’s great you have a nice and safe place to run in the city. You are one lucky dog. Don’t mind the little dogs, they just bark at you because you are bigger then them.
Hey, that looks great Sugar!!! Especially with the sun shinin’ on ya!!
Kisses,
Ruby
Well, it may not be the bestest of places but at least the building is dog-friendly with a dog run! I hope you have a woof-tastic week, Sugar!

Love the idea of the pet run. So cool!
Benny & Lily
How very very cool is that! I’ve never heard/seen a dog walk in a high rise. And they even provide you with at fire hydrant. You are living in a really nice building!
As for the other dogs…JEALOUS! Just ignore them!
WoofWoof!
We sure hope that you meet some friendlier pups soon, Sugar!
Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
Wonderful pics… My favorite is the one with you sitting, face to the sun… Love you Sugar… Hugs and woofs… M
arni
Well that’s really cool that they have a special place for dogs. You sure do look like you are enjoying it.
I am so glad your mom found lout about that. I bet it makes things a lot easier on everyone. So I am confused. Are you now living full time in the city and you dont’ get to go back to Hawaii. I am ashamed of my vickie for not keeping better track of what you are doing.
I bet you miss your ocean…
Love
bert
That’s pretty cool that they have all that for dogs in that building! We love seeing you run with your ears flying!
Wonderful, Sugar! How nice that there’s a dog run on top of your building – it’s not the beach in Hawaii, but you can get some good running in anyway.
I love to read your blog! That’s really cool that there’s a dog run all the way up there – I’m still a bit blown away thinking about the elevator ride but less a dogrun on top of a building! That’s crazy-wonderful! Sugar, you just ignore any of those other pups that aren’t nice….they’re all just jealous!!!
A rooftop dog run sounds like a great idea to me. I am sorry that the smaller dogs don’t want to play. Maybe they just need some time to get to know you 🙂
That’s brilliant having the run right in/on your building. We bet you’ll be able to just take the lift right up there by yourself soon, any time you feel the need to run!
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
The dog run is nice when you are surrounded by tall concrete!

Well, it’s not as nice as the beach in Hawaii, but then nothing is that GOOD!!
Have fun in your temporary home.
Wyatt
That dog run is so cool!
Its bigger than my back yard! As a Chicagoan I apologize for those snotty uptown dogs! Love Dolly
Great run there Sugar pity about the yappy little dogs. Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly
Nice! That’s a pretty darned good place for a city dog to live. 🙂
Zachary was most interested in those pee rocks, while I was thinking that hydrant would make a great prop. Henry was too busy bemoaning the travesty of inedible plastic grass. 🙂
WOW! What a cool condo perk. I was gifted a condo by my parents for a graduation present. After choosing all the colour schemes and upgrades, we find out that large dogs are not permitted. I had to reject my parents’ generous gift. They will sell the condo and help me put a down payment on another one that doesn’t have a weight limit, just a quantity limit (which we meet).
Your building seems very dog friendly, which is nice 🙂
I love this idea – there are clearly some dog-loving people in Chicago. And I can’t believe those other doggies would bark at you … I guess they just having gotten to know you well enough yet.
