It was very sweet of my mom to buy me a new toy as a home coming present.
Actually, mom needed lots of convincing to buy me a new toy.
We went to the pet shop to get weighed. Of course to walk around too.
I could not help to direct mom’s attention into the sale bin of dog toys.
I Woof Woof! as soon as mom picked up the toy.
Mom looked at me and said “You don’t really need a toy.” I responded with more Golden Woofs.
Mom ended up buying me a new toy …
Mom immediately posted a photo of me with my new toy on FB.
It’s my new Hide n Seek toy. Mom and I were playing for about 30 minutes then this happened …
Not my fault.
You see my mom taught me how to be gentle with my toys.
I’m not a chewer or de-stuffer. My toys are my fun buddies.
Here’s my 2 theories, Why the toy was unstitch?
1) There’s a reason why the toy was in the sale bin.
2) I grabbed the toy with my teeth, 2 of them are sharp.
From the photo above, you can also see that the toy was not really de-stuffed,
just unbroken stitches.
What do you think?
This post is worth joining Monday Mischief hop.
Lots of Golden L♥VE n Woofs
SUGAR
Definitely NOT your fault. I’m going with the “that’s why it was in the sale bin”. 🙁
I agree Sugar – the toy must have been in the sale bin for some reason! Oh wells, at least I hope it didn’t cost you a fortune since it was on sale.
They don’t make toys like they used to. Not your fault, Sugar!
Purrs,
The KT Gang
Oh, Sugar, what a shame! I think it was in the sale bin for a reason 🙁
Personally I think dog toy makers make bad toys on purpose because they know we keep going out and buying them. If the toys lasted for years….they would lose their market wouldn’t they?
Ooooh Sugar your poor toy, We do like to tear at our toys sometimes but some are definitely made CHEAP and last seconds whereas others take our tugging for years
urban hounds
I am thinking you are NOT guilty, but when you see my post today, you will KNOW Baby is guilty as charged.
We agree, it must have had a defect and that is why it was in the sale bin. Can your Mom fix it?
Not your fault of course. I agree there was a reason it was in a sal bin. I have that same toy and it is still all stitched up. So I think you duck was just a little fowl and that is why it was on sale.
Blessings,
Goose
We have that problem too, and at least one of us is very gently. Mom only buys the toys she can stitch together because she knows the seams will split on the stuffies at some point.
A complete accident Sugar….. clearly the toy was in the sale bin for a reason.
Aw! I’m sorry your toy ripped Sugar! I bet there was a small hole in it when you bought it! That stinks!
That was TOTALLY a defective toy! Poor Sugar, you look so sad. You need a new toy to cheer you up!
Goodness! If you’re not a chewer and this happened, I can only imagine how much worse off the toy would have been if my dogs got a hold of it. I hate it when I buy a toy and it only lasts a few hours or so. So sad. 🙁
We agree with your theories. Hope mom is your ER nurse to give stuffie stitches
Snorts,
Benny & Lily
I don’t get to play with stuffies much because they are always “falling apart”.
You better get a pawambulance and rush that Stuffie over to my Stuffie Hospital stat! Seems like some toys just are made of cheap stuff but we never know which ones until it is too late!
I’m going to vote defective toy. You would never do something like that.
Not Guilty! I think you’re right the toy was in the sale bin for a reason and it hasn’t been unstuffed. I’m sure that with a little TLC from your Mom it can be sewn right back up and you can start playing again.
Sugar, its not your fault. That toy is just fowl!
Mol Sugar your new toy was so excited to be living with you it’s Glee busted a seam!!!
Hugs madi your BFFF
I bet it unstitched because it is a cheap toy, hence it was in the sale bin. The store was trying to get rid of them. What a shame because it looked like a fun toy!

Sugar, of course it’s not your fault. Stupid duck…
Couldn’t of been you, would of been me though if that was my toy..BOL have a wonderful day Sugar, don’t forget my pawty tomorrow xxx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
That toy was a dud, for sure! I had the same bad luck with a Cuz toy I bought Jimmy. I got it because he had ruined the squeaker in his old one. But within the first day of playing with the new Cuz, that squeaker stopped working, too! Arrrrggghhh!
maybe your duckling had too much easter treats and needs a diet now? Have a wonderful Monday dear Sugar :o)
Its a duck-toy! Very cute except for the de-stitching thing. Maybe your mom can sew it?
Our Little Bit shakes the stuffing right out of all her toys. We just let her because she thinks it’s fun.
Have a woof woof day Sugar. My best to your mom. 🙂
Sugar, I think you’ve got it-inferior products has to be the reason. Hunter totally agrees with you, except I often find the stuffing has “leaked” out of the toy.
Happy Day to you!
Noreen & Hunter
That toy was obviously faulty Sugar!
Aw, that’s very sad, Sugar. Maybe I need to make you a leather tug toy to hide. Leather is sturdy.
Sugar there is NO way that was your fault! You were gentle with your toy! That is probably exactly why it was in the sale pile
And that’s such a neat toy! I bet your Mom will sew it up and it’ll be almost as good as new. She used to do that with Maggie’s toys because she was like you–toy destruction didn’t happen. Now, if was me? Gone in 5 seconds…..
Definitely NOT your fault, Sugar! I’m careful with my toys too! Shadow used to rip my toys when she tried to get them away from me, but she leaves my stuffy toys alone now. Ducky would destroy them for sure if she got hold of them, so Mom keeps them in the closet when Ducky’s home. But, when they do manage to get torn, Mom tries to sew the seam closed again when she has the time. We don’t need new toys, either, but Mom buys them anyway sometimes.
Aww… we have too many toys that are gone quickly as well. Mom has learned – if she spends more, it usually lasts longer. 🙂
It’s a good thing you posted this because I was so close to buying that very toy for Beamer!
I’m going to say that’s why it was in the sale bin.
With surgical precision I can open up a seam just enough to remove the squeaker and nothing else. Mom thinks that is very scary. It is good you are nice to your toys, I destroy everything so I only get Nylabones now, no squeaky or stuffed toys. Love Dolly
The mischief definitely seems to be on the part of the toy-maker here! That’s good that you are not a de-stuffer. Rita rarely is, but when she is – look out. Stuffing everywhere.
Hopefully Mom will sew it up for you and it will be good as new! It looks like a fun toy and you look so cute with it!
Sales toys can be seconds and not made to standard. Mom should bring it back. If she can sew, she can stitch it up.
Mom has done that for me sometimes.
licks and Rrrufs, BJ
Hey Sugar,
I think you’re totally innocent buddy!! It’s a mystery!! 🙂
Big wags,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
I think you look terribly sad about your toy Sugar…Some toys just don’t stand up to even gently play, so maybe you’re right about the sale bin…It is a pretty nice looking bird and your mom should be able to fix that one up for you easy…
We TRY to unstitch them over here!
We think it is defective and the store should replace it!
Your Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Clearly a defective toy! Not that any toy lasts more then 30 min in our house! Lee and Phod
Oh, I agree with Lee and Phod…CLEARLY defective!! I thinks your Moms should gets her money back….or you should get a replacement!! Toys should be ‘Sugar’ proof! (NO toy is Ruby proof…butts that’s a whole different story….)
Kisses,
Ruby
i think a little duck tape and he’ll be fine.
xo cinnamon
Maybe a little of both?!
I wish I could teach Shiver not to desftuff his stuffies.
I’ve had a couple toys made from that type of material, I don’t buy them any more. They never last a whole day so really, it’s not your fault!
