This is a great reminder, Sugar. You should make this a poster and distribute it. Who could break the law when your lovely face is suggesting they not?
I agree with your message, Sugar. Catching up with your activities and blog. I see you are still in my former home, Chicago. Lots of great parks and sights there. Enjoy!
Thanks for reminding us. Many years ago before our Grammie had her knee surgery, she was having a lot of mobility problems. She could barely walk sometimes but trying to walk was important because it helped with her joints. So she would go out. She had a temporary handicapped sticker and sometimes the spaces would be filled by people who didn’t have a sticker. It would make her mad! Lee and Phod
Our Mom has a disabled parking permit – she only uses it when her Rheumatoid is bad but surprisingly where we live now people are really good about about not parking in the reserved spots.
100% Correct Sugar…My grandma is disabled and we surely appreciate the accessible spots for parking especially on rainy cold days. Great Post my sweet friend Hugs madi your BFFF
This is a very important message! I agree, this should be a poster or PSA. Remember friends that you can’t always SEE the disability. Sometimes you may think people are abusing the privilege when they aren’t. Just something to keep in mind.
Yes there is but so many take advantage of it. I swear in our town that 57% of the people use a sticker. Yes,ma has one but if she is having a good day she will park in a non handicap place because she knows someone might be having a bad day and needs it worse than her. Great Reminder!
I agree! Respect this space! My sister would take my Mom’s handicap tag and hang it on her mirror just so she could park close when shopping. I hated my sister doing this and she just laughed when I tried to tell her NOT to use it.
Thank you. I hate to admit this, but there are several things which make me want to key a car, and parking in a handicap spot without a tag is one. I’d never do it, but I think about it.
Good advice, Sugar!! I was once on a jury trying a man who parked in a handicapped space illegally and tried to fight the ticket. We found him guilty as H#%*. The fine was much more than the ticket would have been.
Sugar, what a good reminder dog you are. I believe people are doing better than they used to where we live. Mom finds herself reprimanding fewer and fewer drivers each year. The other thing we need to tell drivers: Even if you are not eligible to park in a handicap space, please allow drivers leaving one to do so. Our mom doesn’t park in the one’s at the grocery store, even though she’s entitled to do so, as other drivers won’t give her a chance to back out since they can’t park there, and the couple seconds it would take her would just slow them up so much. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
That’s a great reminder, but it’s also good to remember some handicaps (like having a pacemaker) aren’t visible, and it just looks like the person shouldn’t be there…..But of course, there are those who fudge their way into getting the handicap hanger for their cars….Shame on them!
Sugar, we couldn’t agree more. Mama had an uncle who had MS, so she’s very sensitive to those things. Happy Wednesday! We hope it’s as warm in Illinois as it is here in Michigan right now so you can have great sun puddles.
WOOF! I agree with the others – you should totally turn this into a poster!
P.S. Woof your purple boots – keep those sweet paws protected!
Rubysays
Yups, Poster fursure Sugar! This is somethin’ that has always gotten under Ma’s skin!!! Keep spreadin’ the word… Kisses, Ruby pees: just tell peeps that park where they’re not suppose to, that you can work off your blubber butts if you park further away from the store!!
Good reminder for those that feel it is ok to park in a handicapped spot when they are not. My cousin is in a wheelchair and it is amazing to me how many people DO park in a spot anyway.
Boy did you hit a nerve with Ma Sugar!!! Me and my sister have those hangable placards for using on rare occasions with our Dad, sometimes it’s not too easy to cope with all the stuff we have to carry, assemble, etc. but when totally able bodied people use those spots it infuriates me! Then recently when an acquaintance saw I had one in my side car door and asked to borrow it I asked why…assuming she was expecting company that would need it….wrong! She was going places in the weekend and hated to have to contend with parking!!! It was all I could do to be civilized in saying she needed to thank God for the use if all of her limbs and walked away.
Yes! We agree! Our Nana needs these since a bad accident and we hate to see people abuse them. XOXOXO
This is a great reminder, Sugar. You should make this a poster and distribute it. Who could break the law when your lovely face is suggesting they not?
Agreed, cutie pie. Respect the space! So psyched to meet your mom at BlogPaws soon!
Good advice Sugar – we hate it when we see people abuse that rule!
That would make a great public service ad! 🙂
I agree with your message, Sugar. Catching up with your activities and blog. I see you are still in my former home, Chicago. Lots of great parks and sights there. Enjoy!
Officer Sugar, on patrol 🙂
I am happy to report that I rarely see folks abusing the handicapped parking spaces around here. Good reminder, Sugar.

you tell us Sugar! just in case we forget….
Great message, Sugar! I always see people parking in handicapped spaces with no handicap tag or stickers…pet peeve of mine!
Great reminder!! Hate seeing people abuse this and then someone that needs it has no place to park.
Great reminder Sugar, I wish all people would be thoughtful :o)
Great public service announcement, Sugar! It’s just too bad that people need to be reminded!
Great PSA, Sugar. Fortunately that law is well-enforced here, but there are still some who try to abuse it.
Woos – Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
EXCELLENT reminder !!!
Well said Sugar we have the same problem over here. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Best wishes Molly

you got that right Sugar! You tell ’em!!
Agreed! And, on a side note, you look really nice next to something bright blue, it’s a good color for you!
Good point and not only don’t park there if you aren’t supposed to but if you park next to such a space, leave a bit of room!
You need to be posted on every handicap spot, everywhere.
That give big pricey tickets in CA if you park where you don’t belong
Benny & Lily
You tell them, Sugar!!
*high paws*

And some people just don’t care. It’s all about them so they park there anyway. Where is a cop when you need one. People are getting so very rude.
Have a woof woof day Sugar. My best to your mom. 🙂
My mommy says she’s going to print that picture and put it on the windshields of all violators. Woof woof! You go, Mommy!
Thank you. I hate to admit this, but there are several things which make me want to key a car, and parking in a handicap spot without a tag is one. I’d never do it, but I think about it.
We bet more people wouldn’t park there if they saw you saying not to! Our mommy parks far away from other cars so she never would park there. Ever.
That is such a good message Sugar. Take care.
Good advice, Sugar!! I was once on a jury trying a man who parked in a handicapped space illegally and tried to fight the ticket. We found him guilty as H#%*. The fine was much more than the ticket would have been.
AMEN to that!

An excellent reminder to everyone! Thanks Sugar, and happy WW! Kisses from Daisy!!!

Hi Y’all,
My Human Papa needed one for awhile after knee surgeries. It was a Godsend.
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Definitely print this out and spread it all over town as a reminder!
We see those spaces being abused quite often around Orlando…so sad! Great photo, wonderful color! 🙂
YES!! Mom said she would volunteer to write citations for offenders!
