Last week, we attended BarkWorld 2013 and it was held at Atlanta’s dog-friendly Westin Buckhead. It’s not my first time to stay at a Westin Hotel. I’ve shared my stayed at the Westin Chicago Michigan Avenue. Westin Hotels are an upscale hotel chain owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
The Westin Buckhead is located in the heart of an affluent Atlanta neighborhood. It is surrounded with tall buildings. There were lots of cemented area and not enough grassy areas. However, Westin Buckhead has a small designated potty area w/ poop bags (i.e. ziplock bags) and trash bin. I hope Westin Buckhead creates future plans to offer more appropriate eco-friendly poop bags for their furry guest.
Since it was hot and only a few places to walk around the Westin Buckhead, I enjoyed strolling inside where it was cooler. The decor in Westin Buckhead is warm and relaxing.
The best part of my 4 day stay was lounging on Westin Buckhead’s couches.
I Golden Enjoyed it especially the leather couch.
Westin Buckhead provided water filled bowls to its furry guests and bone treats at the registration area. We were surprised with the choice of treats they were offering their furry guests. Wishing for a healthier treats especially for dogs like me who have allergies.
Another favorite part of my stay at the Westin Buckhead was the stair entrance. Many of you know that mom and I enjoy stair climbing. We did a mini stair climb work out in the morning and appreciated the morning sunshine.
Overall, I had a PAWsome stay at the Westin Buckhead. Mom had to pay a discounted BarkWorld pet fee (which we never had to pay on our stay at Westin Chicago). All the staff at the Westin Buckhead were very friendly and enjoyed all the BarkWorld furry guests. Special Thanks to Christine Coppola, Westin Buckhead Director of Event Management.
I’m am going to miss riding the elevator and sleeping on Heavenly Westin Dog Bed.
Lots of Golden Thanks Westin Buckhead Atlanta … will see you again on BarkWorld 2014.
Lots of Golden L♥VE n Woofs
SUGAR
Glad you had fun. Next year we will see you there -so sorry I missed it- and maybe I can get my friends at Bullwrinkles/Barnsdale Farms to send some healthy treats. X TH
Sounds like fun! We think it’s wonderful that hotels are starting to cater to our fur-families. Us kittehz are pretty much homebodies, though.
Happy Saturday, Sugar!
Fantastic place to hang out!!!
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Thanks for this great review, Sugar. I think it is a good hotel for a holiday. I’m very happy that so much hotels and restaurants are petfriendly. Have a golden saturday
We have never stayed in a HOTEL. It looks FUN.
Morning Sugar!
What a nice event Barkworld was in a very accommodating Westinghouse Hotel
Hugs Madi your bfff
Sugar, you look so comfy on the Lobby couches! I loved going up and down the lobby stairs too. It was sooooo much fun! I hope you have a great weekend!!

what a great hotel – at least on the inside but at they had a spot for you go outside 🙂
What a great place to stay! I’ve stayed at a Westin before and it was really nice, I didn’t know dogs were allowed though, next time if Boomer and Dottie can come along I just might book them a bed right next to mine!
We loved the Westin Buckhead! We stay at the Westin in Key West whenever we go there, and we’ve also stayed at the Westin Dulles in Northern Virginia. Not all Westins are as dog-friendly (some charge a ridiculous dog fee) so we appreciate the ones that are.
We found that the shopping center nearby was a good place to walk.
A lot of people don’t realize that many popular dog treats are not very healthy and that a lot of dogs have allergies like you and me. Maybe one of the BarkWorld sponsors could provide healthier treats to have at the front desk next year.

gotta say the Westin was great with the animals, as for the people? Not so much 🙁 Except for the ANGEL ENGINEER who rigged my air conditioning in my room so that mine would run CONTINUOUSLY instead of being “motion sensored” God Bless Him!
We are sure the Westin just needs input form their furry guests and they will change their bags and cookies. You should make sure you tell them. It sounds like a great place to stay. Lee and Phod
Sounds like a PAWS UP for the Weston Hotel!
🙂
Sounds like a great place. Have a super Saturday.
Best wishes Molly.
Oh, how FABulous is that?! I do loves that staircase! So grand
Looks like they really loved you there at the Westin Sugar!!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
It appears as if you had a awesome time. We don’t like that you had to pay a pet fee, even if it was discounted. This was a pet event, after all, and that fee should have been part of the price. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Looks like you had a pawsome time.
Sugar….
‘Round, ’round, get around, you get around…. {What? I like the Beach Boys!!} ;op

Sounds like they serve a dog’s lifestyle as they should. We dogs deserve the best! I think BlogPaws is at the Westin next year, so I can test it out then!
That was a fun place Sugar and the Westin had to be thrilled to have such a celebrity like you there!
We bet they were very happy to cater to a celebrity like you Sugar!
That is a beautiful photo of you on the stairs!!! Looks like it was a great stay and a lot of fun…really looking forward to BarkWorld next year!
What a great place, Sugar. Sounds like if they just improved on a couple of things, they’d be almost perfect! 🙂
Sounds like a wonderful place!
