Golden Delight to receive a copy of Brian Beker’s book, Notes from a Dog Rescue In Progress. Brian is a pilot, documentary filmmaker, writer and blogger at The Dog In The Clouds. Most importantly, Brian has a big wonderful heart as he rescued a fearful Golden Retriever named Roo from a high-kill shelter in Los Angeles.
Brian described his first interaction with Roo on the first page of the book. It was emotional and surely tear jerking. On yesterday post, I shared how The Power of Hand Touch is very therapeutic to a dog. It is exactly what Brain did with Roo, “there are times a dog needs to be held as much as any human does.”
Notes from a Dog Rescue In Progress is a heartwarming short story. Brian showed how a very fearful rescue dog can be brave and learn how to trust again. Roo’s smiling photographs in the book are confirmations of the special bonded love with Brian. Roo is an inspiration of hope to all dogs in the shelter.
I give Notes from a Dog Rescue In Progress 4 Golden Paws Up. It is lovingly well written. You’ll immediately get hooked up as you read the first paragraph. It is an easy weekend book to read. You’ll have tears of sadness and joy. All in all, it will bring warmth to your heart. It is a MUST Read for all animal/dog lovers. Notes from a Dog Rescue In Progress is available on Amazon.
The story of Roo and Brian is unfinished. You can read more of them on The Dog In The Clouds. Last July, Brian celebrated Roo’s 1st year Gotcha Day. Roo has come a long way as she became playful and a practical joker.Golden LOVE what Brain said after a year …
“Watching a dog learn to trust, being a part of their recovery from the damage done to them, and eventually being the person they love, is a powerful experience that I find myself marveling at every day.“
Lots of Golden Thanks Brian. Golden Pleasure to read Notes from a Dog Rescue In Progress.
Also, Golden Congrats to Brian for winning the Petties 2013 award for Funniest Blog.
Lots of Golden L♥VE n Woofs
