It’s Pumpkin season.
Mom got a small pumpkin to make Pumpkin soup.
First, mom roasted it and set aside a cup to make dog treats for me.
Ingredients
4 cups of Brown Rice Flour
1/2 Apple, 1/2 Banana, 1 cup of Pumpkin
2 tbsp – 1/4 cup of Coconut Oil
1 1/3 cup of water
2tbsp honey
1 egg (optional)
Frosting: Puree Pumpkin and Plain Yogurt (optional)
Blend/Puree the apple, banana and pumpkin. Mix it with the four. Stir in the honey, egg, oil and water. Adjust water as necessary to make stiff dough. Rolled on floured surface to 3/8 thick. Cut with bone shaped cutter. Place it on a cookie sheet or mat. Bake for 2-3hrs in 250 degrees oven until thoroughly dry. (Adjust your cooking time depending on your oven. You may bake it at 375 for 30-45mins). Makes 24 bone treats.

OM NOM NOM! Those bones look GOOD! I buy a jack pumpkin most years for pie making. But the last couple of years I buy as many pumpkins as I can the day after Halloween, when they’re a dollar, and give them to the chickens.
My doggie treat cookie tray has still not been used! Mom promises to soon but not today. Emergency trip to vet. Email later. Love Dolly

Oh Yummers!!!!! Does anyone ever know how many calories are in some of these recipes? Ma was wonderin’ cause I’m on a diet so my calorie intake has to be monitored. Just curious for HER, butts I don’t care!!! I’ll have 87 of them to go please!!

Sounds delish! I just pinned this to my Doggie Treats board over on Pinterest! I’ll definitely be whipping these up for my girls! Thanks for sharing!
Those sound yummy. Do you know if there is something that can be used instead of the rice flour? I am not TOTALLY anal about not giving them starchy treats but I prefer to avoid it if possible. Have you ever tried baking with something like chickpea flour?
Those look lovely! 🙂 I’ll have to try baking these up soon! BTW, love the attention to detail with the yogurt drops!

I love this recipe Sugar!! I think you could humanize it too!
I’m looking to possibly make these for my own golden, but am wondering if the bake time is 2 to 3 hours? I’m guessing it’s hours as the temperature is low and the idea is to draw out all the liquid so they don’t spoil.
