Life is a collection of moments. My life is full of special moments with my dog Sugar. Sugar has shown me to see beauty in every moment.
I am sharing a special moment that occurred last Saturday, January 18th as part of Nature’s Recipe® #RecipeForMoments.
I’m fortunate to experience the changing of seasons. Winter is my least favorite, as I am not fond of the cold air and wind. On the other hand, Sugar loves it.
How could I not resist to go to the park when Sugar took her leash, sat by door and her eyes spoke to me, “Let’s go, its not that cold.” I dearly love Sugar and of course responded to her request.
At the park, Sugar delighted me with her Golden Smiles as she saw and approached the open field covered with snow. Her Golden Eyes lit up, she wagged her tail and barked for me to throw the toy. Sugar, as a senior dog, remains energetic. As I threw the toy, Sugar sprinted the snowy field to fetch it. I watched Sugar with awe as her speed and form was incredible. Speedy Sugar, as I nicknamed her, immediately brought the toy back and dropped it on the ground. Sugar’s gaze suddenly focused on two squirrels climbing a tree. I threw the toy by the tree and Sugar happily ran to fetch it. She carried the toy as she roamed the tree. I’m sure Sugar was looking and “wondering, where did the squirrels go?” Sugar ran back to me with such Golden Delight and sending me a message “did you see the squirrels?”
Sugar’s smile, continued wagging tail and barking was to its max. Sugar conveyed her lots of Golden FUN Time! I continued to play fetch with Sugar and it made me not think of the cold. Sugar’s Golden Joy provided me warmth. It also reminded me of the phrase by John Ruskin “Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.” It truly makes a difference too when you spend it with someone special like your dog; human animal bond moments are priceless.
Seeing Sugar’s Golden Happy SMILE was one of the highlights of this trip to the park. Hearing Sugar’s Golden Barks were what made this trip to the park extra special. It took 16 days for Sugar to bark again after a mass the size of a ping-pong was removed from her tongue. The sound of Sugar’s barks was extra sweet to hear in my ear. It was really cold too and Sugar’s barks created an enthusiasm sound in my body. From Sugar kissing the snow, I sensed her Golden Message to me, “This was a PAWsome way to celebrate.”
Before we left the park, Sugar stared at the lake. It sure made me wonder what she was staring at. Whatever it was I felt her happiness and contentment. Golden Happy for the time we spent together. This trip to the park was a precious perfect Golden Special Moment with Sugar.

What a beautiful story and heartwarming description of Sugar’s joy at the park. Is that you Rosalyn? That’s the first time I’ve seen you with Sugar in a photo! I love it- you are wearing purple gloves to match Sugar’s purple paws! I wonder if Sugar was thinking of Hawaii when she was gazing at the lake?
That is such a great post and it is so true about having a conversation with your animals. There isn’t any thing better. My cats talk to me in many ways all the time. I really enjoyed this post. Take care. Hugs to you Sugar.
Sugar this post just FILLS us FULL of HAPPINESS!!! We are SO glad to see you having FUN and enjoying the snow. WONDERFUL POST.
Oh my, that happy Sugar always makes us smile too!
that is how we love to see Miss Sugar – so happy and full of life – loving every moment
I love Sugar, she has the sweetest face, and I am glad she is so active in her senior years! My two goldens didn’t live long lives, and I miss them terribly! I get my golden fixes from blogs like yours and a few other facebook pages. I also think I live by you, I recognize some of your pictures! I live on the Chain O Lakes in far north Illinois. Not really too close, lol. I love all of Sugar’s pictures, she is the happiest girl, and so well-trained for her treats. My dogs also loved bananas, and YOGURT. Lots of YOGURT. Does Sugar like yogurt? My cat loves yogurt too! Yogurt might be good for Sugar if she is still on soft food. Hope she is feeling so much better! Thank you so much for your wonderful blog!
How fun. Our Little Bit goes our every morning with dad and enjoys a nice walk. She gets to go wherever she wants too.
Have a woof woof day Sugar. My best to your mom. 🙂
Dear Rosalyn and Sugar, What a wonderful post! Sugar’s love is contagious I tell you and she always makes me smile-thank you Sugar. Seeing the snow through her eyes changes my perspective about it. May she continue to fight the disease and spread joy to your days, and ours.

This was beyond beautiful and oh-so-incredibly delightful! Brought me to tears! I am sooo happy to see YOU in the post too! xoxoxo
What a wonderful post! It is so sad that so many dogs and their parents never experience these feelings. Nothing makes Mom happier than watching us dogs enjoy ourselves. She is so happy for us when we shag a wabbit out from under a tree or go nuts seeing squirrels playing in a tree. It is all so very simple, yet so wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
Sugar is just one of the happiest dogs I have ever seen. I love the photo of the two of you where we can see just how happy she makes you too.
I also don’t love the snow and cold and the dogs are the one thing that really get me out there and make me realize it is not that bad after all when you have someone to enjoy it with.
Your story made my heart sing. I miss my Golden Retriever so much when I see Sugar running and playing. He never got the entire white clown face but he was one in a million. I’m so glad Sugar is feeling good and enjoying herself.
Sentiments well said! Love you SUGAR!
All I can say is – Beautiful and thank you for sharing.
Awesome photos! I’m so glad to see you’ve recovered from your surgery.
Love,
Tootsie

What a great way to celebrate. You made each other happy.
Very beautiful Sugar and Rosalyn. Looks like a wonderful day at the park, beautiful memories were made.
What a sweet girl! The special, little moments with our pets are some of my favorite times in life. I recently wrote a post about my family’s yellow lab, Brady, and how we almost lost him the day my mom brought him home.

Wonderful story. I always feed off my dog’s happiness. I try hard to every day has as many happy moments for my dogs as possible, that way it has as many happy moments for me. Often I end up with a dumb grin on my face. Hubby says that I end up being a fly trap. LOL
So much love and affection and sheer fun in this post. Lovely, and thank you so much for sharing!

You can tell in every one of those pictures how happy Sugar is.
Hi Y’all!
Oh that was indeed special! I’m so glad you got your voice back Sugar!
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
So sweet! I bet watching Sugar playing in the snow did a lot to change your perspective about cold weather. We don’t like the snow much either until after we watch Maya and Pierson play in it. Then, and only then, does the thought of snow put smiles on our faces. 🙂
Absolutely beautiful pics!
Btw, thank you SO much for the wonderful surprise from See Beautiful! We’ve been meaning to write and say thank you… but Mama has been sooooooooo busy! – Zeus
Every moment spent between humans and canines is such a wonderfully special moment <3 We are so glad Sugar is up to barking again and loving running around and being active after her surgery =)
Brilliant photos, looks like you both had a brilliant time!
Indeed, every moment we have with them is precious, every single one. Live it, love it and place it in our hearts forever.
What a wonderful post for all of us to enjoy. There are no words.
