How often do you say the word HELLO?
It should be a “natural” for everyone to say Hello.
Hello is a beautiful word to utter.
Saying hello is powerful especially to its recipient.
It brings energy and definitely lots of SMILES.
Many say if you are a pet owner you are happier and you often say the word Hello.
Do you?
If you’ve been a follower/reader of our blog, you know we Love Oprah and enjoyed our mini 2013 encounter. Just love the work Miss O does. Most recently, she founded a #JustSayHello campaign. It is aimed to help everyone to communicate with each other and help fight loneliness and life spirits. A Wonderful Campaign! Sugar and I embrace the power and believe in the importance of the word HELLO.
When was the last time you said Hello?
For sure you encounter many people (fellow dog owner) on your walks,
say Hello and brighten someone’s day.
“A simple Hello could lead to a million things.”

HELLO There Sugar!! Hope you have a Beautiful Day!! xo Chloe and LadyBug
Hello Sugar and Roslyn, you are so right! I am amazed at how some people react while I’m out and just look at them (strangers) and I say “hello, how are you?” I think it makes some peoples day 🙂
Look at that smile! You rae right a simple hello can be so beautiful

HELLO!!!!
A Golden Hello! to all Sugar’S friends and their humans…. my Mummy greets everyone she meets when we are out, it is totally normal where we live ( a rural community). Everyone greets back virtually and everyone feels welcome here :- ) Even the the bad-tempered Hovawart Cindy who has taken quite a dislike to me BOL!
Hellllloooooooo Sugar, that was beautiful and yes indeed more people need to say hello and be a little less grumpy. Have a great day.
That’s one of the many many benefits of owning a dog. Everyday when I walk with my two Golden’s we are fortunate enough to meet so many people. We say hello to everyone. I of course say it out loud, Chase and Moose say it with their wagging tails and happy faces. It’s amazing how just one word can bring a smile to so many people. Pass it along!!
Hello Sugar. 🙂
I bet my MOM says HELLO about 87,000 times a day. And know what she receives 86,999 smiles in return (there’s always one isn’t there). Hello and smiles are beautiful for sure.
Blessings,
Goose
You know – I say hello or hi to everyone but I have found many Americans seems to do a double take when I do….it is almost as if they thinking “why are you talking to me” general mistrust in our society has taken away the simple joy of saying hello to strangers
Hi Y’all!
Sugar, sayin’ “hello” is the best! Think of all the people and other pawed ones we’d never have known if not for that one simple word…”hello”!
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Hello, Hi 😀 *waves*
We say hello quite frequently. Especially when we visit new towns.
Hello Sugar!!! MOL
My mom is big on saying hello/good morning to folks each day at the mall when they walk.
Years ago mom was applying for a job in another department at NCSU. When she arrived for the interview the professor said oh I was trying to place a face with a name. Now I know you are the lady who says hello to everyone. Later the professor said that was one of the deciding factors to mom getting the job. He was a very busy professor w lots of international visitors. He needed someone very friendly in the position.
Hugs Madi your bfff
Sugar, this is so true and such a beautiful and simple gesture that opens so many doors and opportunities to create joy in our day and the day of others! Have a wonderful weekend!
We are Oprah fans too! Mom says “hi” more than hello, but that is the same thing. I love to let out a howl as my greeting. Mom is always amazed at how many folks don’t say “hi” back but she keeps saying it anyway. With this ugly spring melty weather, we couldn’t think of anything beautiful, so we skipped this month. Hope to be back seeing beautiful in April.
We totally agreed Sugar. We say hello a zillion times per day
Lily & Edward
Hello seems to always just be Hi now or Hey. We try to say hello when we see other dog walkers and try to say hello back when someone says it to us. We are going to be much more aware now for sure! Love Dolly
Hellooooo Sugar! We meet lots of folks and Say “Hello”!! My mom met the nicest lady and her Malamute puppy yesterday when she was out working, it’s fun to say “HELLO!”
Wyatt and Stanzie
It’s a great idea to say hello, I will greet all peeps and pets today this way :o)
We love that campaign by Oprah!! We tweeted it a few weeks ago and then forgot! This is great Sugar! You are a great spokesdog for this campaign!
We say “hello” to everyone. Humans say my mom is a “people person” but she is really a “dog person.” I am a “people dog” myself and I wave my tail at everyone I see. I hope mom remembers to join your See Beautiful hop next month. I’ll make her write it down. Thanks for sharing Sugar. I think you are beautiful! Your Basset Buddy, Bentley P.S. Thanks for reading The Returns! We hope you liked it, because you remind me & mom of Tucker.
Bark More, Growl Less Barking from the Bayou!
Hello to you Sugar! haha! I actually say hello to lots of people on our walks. We live in a small town and we tend to see the same people every time we are out on our daily husky walks!
Love this post! Thanks for sharing!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Hello – we don’t say it enough, we will try to do this more!
I’ve never been a big hello person but I do say hi an awful lot!
Hello, Sugar! Hello, Mom! I try to say hi and smile at folks when we are out on walks, but a lot of the time it’s not possible since I’m focused on Rita and praising her when she’s good and doesn’t react. It’s hard cuz I feel like people must think I’m rude, but I have to keep my eyes on her. If she’s nice and calm, I get a chance to smile and say hi though.
Hello Sugar. We say hello a lot whilst walking the park. Always nice to say hello to people.
Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly
#justsayhello…well that is beautiful! Hello, Sugar. And hello to all our friends who see beautiful with us (and to strangers we don’t even know). Love this!
Happy seeing beautiful!
What a great reminder!!! Thanks Sugar!
Hello Friend!
Hello beautiful Sugar!
We do try to say hello to everyone we meet on our walks – most of our greeters seem to like it. Mom says she likes to say hello to people as she goes in and out of the grocery store and pass a few dind words. What a much better place the world would be if more peeps just said hello.

Hello, Sugar and your mom.
I do agree. Not sure why people sometimes are reluctant to say hello or respond to it. Fear of strangers, fear that it is going to let you in for some kind of scam… I don’t know. Partly too I think it is geographic, like a custom in some places. Here in Southeastern Virginia we were immediately attracted to the way total strangers say hello. Northern Virginia, where we lived previously, was the exact opposite. Yes saying hello is usually a good thing to do.
Hello Sugar! We are just realizing that your bloggy is NOT showing up on our feed! We will have to see if we can figure this out. We are glad Oprah is still hanging around with you. I mean, we are sure YOU are the one who told HER about saying HELLO, right? I mean, you are all about HELLO!
Your Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Wonderful advice-a friendly wave is good too!
