It’s been almost 4 weeks since PetSafe Train ‘n Praise has been placed on Sugar’s treat mat. The Train ‘n Praise Treat Dispenser is designed specifically to create new and positive practice in response to the most common household dilemmas. Some of these dilemmas are jumping and begging.
Sugar is not a jumper but occasionally when a family friend rings the doorbell. Sugar Golden Jumps with excitement. The Train n Praise Treat Dispenser comes in handy in this situation. By showing Sugar’s the remote, her attention gets diverted to me (and the remote control). She knows what the remote control delivers, TREATS. When Sugar hears the command GO, Sugar goes where the Train n Praise Treat Dispenser and waits for a treat.
How Did Sugar learn?
It requires introduction to the Train n Praise Treat Dispenser and training.
1) The Train n Praise was easy to install and it requires minimal set-up.
2) I selected a corner spot and used a secured mat to place the Train n Praise Treat Dispenser. I also had an option to mount it on a wall.
3) I let Sugar get familiarized with the dispenser machine by sniffing and showing her the remote control. I activate the remote control (push n release mode), allowing her to see the light and hear a “tone”. Did this for a couple hours.
4) I placed Sugar’s favorite treat in the dispenser and ask her to come on the mat.
5) I gave her a command of “shake” in which she obliged.
6) Using the remote, I dispense a treat.
7) Sugar heard a tone and immediately her gaze was on the dispenser.
8) Sugar was happy to eat the treat as a reward.
9) Sugar tried to “paw” the dispenser for more treats, I immediately diverted her attention to me and provide her a treat on my hand.
10) As she calmed down (from excitement), I dispense another treat.
Sugar is very smart and got the idea that the Train n Praise dispenses treats. She “paw” the dispenser several times and stayed on the mat staring at the dispenser. For days, I did not dispense any treats and waited for the right moment. One example is when she begs for a treat. Sugar is not a barker or moans for a treat. She uses her Golden begging Eyes when she wants something (other than a banana treat).
Having the remote is convenient. When I’m on the couch, I don’t have to get up as I can remotely dispense a treat. The remote has a range of 25 feet.
Sugar gives PetSafe Train n Praise Treat Dispenser 4 Golden Paws Up. I’ve started to incorporate some of Sugar’s activities such as cleaning up her toys with the Train n Praise Treat Dispenser. Will definitely do some follow-up video reviews on our Instagram, follow us at @goldenwoofs

Lily & Edward
I think that is a darn cool invention!
We would love to win this treat dispenser. Maybe it could help calm us down when people come to visit.
Great giveaeway. Good luck to all who enters!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
this would be too cool for my sugar
Great review! This looks wonderful and could be useful in so many different situations. Thanks for the info.
Wags,
Noreen & Hunter
Wow Sugar that is fancy! It sounds really cool but the Lady doesn’t think it would work for me (no on/off switch when it comes to food). Love Doll
That is such a cool idea!
It would be great to use the dispenser to teach the boys to perform instead of treats on demand!
Rooney has a jumping problem, and this could really help us break him of that using positive reinforcement and effective training methods!
This is so cool!
Oh my, YES!!! This would be a HUGE benefit to the training (er, re-training) of all 4 Lapdogs who bark excessively anytime a stranger walks by the driveway or people come to our door. I LOVE the idea of using this devise and we would benefit greatly from it (both the humans and K9’s!).
Hmmm I think that we will enter this giveaway! Shiner likes to follow the baby when she’s eating her snacks, so maybe using something like this would keep her hanging out by the treat dispenser instead… I can think of a lot of ways to use something like this.
We have a Golden. Sweetest dog but begging is a problem. Seems like this will help!
Yes we want the clicker LOL. Sugar your lovely sweet face always makes us smile. Have a tremendous Thursday.
Best wishes Molly
Wow, that is pretty cool!
Your Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
I wonder if it would work on my husband? LOL I need to train HIM to stop spoiling Ducky with stuff that’s bad for her, like chocolate! He won’t even listen to the vet any more.
Siriusly, I could definitely use one of the PetSafe thingies with Ducky; but I also need one that I can mount on her crate to train her to stop barking in the morning (especially weekend mornings!). I just don’t have the money for it right now.
What a superduper invention! We love your Milk Bone rug, Sugar!
Love ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
Sometimes you don’t always want the treat to come from you when training, so I’d be interested to try this.
That is so cool Sugar!!! I wonder if I could steal the remote and go on a binge….hehehe
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Yes I would like to enter. Having your dog obey you would save their lives if they get out and would then come when called .
That is a cool gadget!
This would be awesome!
This would be WONDERFUL for us because we have company coming in a few months and Mom needs to work on teaching me how to settle down on my bed, but can’t always be right on top of me.
Nola
Thanks for the chance to win such a great item. I adopted four of my five Treeing Walker Coonhounds within a little over a year of each other, so while I’ve worked on training them, I didn’t have the time to thoroughly train each one before bringing in the next one. I’d love to use this to take their training to the next level.
What a pawsome training tool! I would love to use it to help train Ella to stay calm and away from the door when strangers come or when I open the door.
I have two thoughts on this one. Can the dog get the lid open? I know Bailie would be trying to do that, and second, maybe the dog could be trained to push the button on the remote for self rewarding behavior? It looks like a cool idea, but now sure it would work for us.
Sugar did not try to open the top lid. It’s impossible as there’s a snap lock. HAHA on the dog controlling the remote control … it is only for the owner. If yo have multiple dogs, you have to introduce the train praise to them individually. Golden Woofs
This is very cool! I like dispensers – they help with mess.
This would be an awesome way to reward our dog for good, quiet calm behavior. When he sees a cat or other dog outside he get very whiny and won’t calm down but we could reward for calm behavior with this without exciting him.
How neat! I would love to train my old boy Bear to use this- he needs a distraction now and then and I could reward him for being nice and calm.
What a great training tool. I really think this would be a great help with training my Nadie. She would definately benefit from this.
Train n Praise is going to benefit me & my Spencer ~ Spencer started begging at the dinner table ~ we don’t give in but he don’t understand why I don’t give him something ~ coz I’m the one who gives the treats ~ this would change things ♥
I would like to be entered in, Nellie would benefit from this training tool to help her with noises in the house and thinking someone is always here. Cute Cute video.
I would love to win this to teach my dogs some great tricks.
I think that this will be a great training tool to help when I need to shape an action that I like and I am to far away to get the treat to him as fast as I would like to for the positive reinforcement.
I want to enter! I have been wanting a treat dispenser like this for a while to use with agility training, but can’t afford one. Now it would be especially great with my new puppy!
I want to participate on the giveaway. I think the PetSafe Train n Praise Treat Dispenser would benefit Schooner and Skipper. We are trying to train them not to bark at the window when everyone is walking down the street you can hear them barking in the home. Plus we are working on the word Drop It.
Train and praise would work because my dog is food motivated and he loves treats.
My dogs respond better when they are rewarded for good behavior. Doing tricks. We are still working on barking.
Train and praise will keep my dog motivated to learn.
I like your idea of using it as a distraction for when someone is at the door. I would definitely like to win it so I could teach my girls the same thing 🙂
I would love to win this to have another tool to teach my dogs restraint. With multiple dogs, it would be nice to have help in teaching a few of them not to zoom into the house, thus bumping some of the other dogs.
Schooner and I are going to try for a Canine Good Citizen so we can visit nursing homes. I think think would come in very handy for training Schooner. To learn leave it, stay, come, and a few other commands for get the a Canine Good Citizen badge,
There are many instances that this can come in handy, so I’d love to have it. Thanks!
I’m sure we could use this to train Domino to put away his toys! Thanks for the giveaway!
My dogs love treats and when I use them to train, the dogs are interested.
My dog Diamond is still a pup but very smart and loves treats. This would be great to help in her training.
Train n Praise will benefit Schooner and Skipper with barking, jumping on our triplet grandchildren when they come in the door, counter surfing, and Schooner shredding the newspaper before I can get it in the recycle bin. It would be the greatest trainer for my dog because they LOVE TREATS!
This will cut down on frustration and keep my dogs motivated to learn.
I think the Train n Praise Treat Dispenser would be good in teaching my dogs new trick. Maybe they would learn to roll over and stay.
With a high energy dog that loves to alert me when someone comes to the door this would be a good way to refocus her to quiet down before opening the door and having friends and family being welcomed into a more calm environment.
Our paws are all crossed for this one!
My doesn’t like to take treats from your hand. She likes to play games/puzzles to get treats. This might work for her.
This will make training easier because my dog will not lose focus.
This will make training easier because my dog will not lose focus.
i have 3 girls so i am wondering has this would work w/ multiple dogs….it would make my life easier and would give them a game to play as well as learning more obedience. however, i wonder what would happen if i left it out while i was not home…would they tear it up…knowing the baby, she loves to tear up things…
I think the Train N Praise would be great for my dogs. They respond better with a treat praise. This would be so great because I am hoping it would help them with their barking at everyone and everything that walks by the house. I can’t keep the blinds shut all day!
Train n Praise is going to benefit my dogs by keeping them motivated and making training fun for us all.
The Train N Praise would benefit Schooner and Skipper from jumping on our guest when they come in the door. I think it would help them knowing if they know they are getting a treat they won’t jump and try and kiss them.
My dogs and I would benefit from the treat dispenser because they would be motivated to learn more tricks.
This is an excellent idea to divert jumping-might have to try it out with Kronos and see how it goes!
I think The Train N Praise would be great for when I am on the telephone and they decided to start barking so I can’t talk.
PLease enter me in the giveaway. I desperately need one to help a disaster dog her reaction to people at the door.
I want the train n praise treat dispenser because it will make learning fun for my dog.
I want the train n praise treat dispenser because it will make learning fun for my dog.
This would help with any training needs. Thanks!
Train N Praise what an awesome way to train Schooner and Skipper and reward them for not barking at everyone that comes down our street, or barking at the mailman, UPS truck, FedX truck, or the neighbor girl riding her bike in her driveway. It would be perfect for them because they LOVE to be reward and praised!
train and praise is the positive way to train your pet to get them to understand, shows your love for your pet, rewards them for doing something right/good.
I want to reward my dogs when they work hard. The treats n’ praise will help me make training fun.
My dogs seem to really enjoy learning new tricks now that they have mastered basic commands. I would love to have a dispenser like this to enhance their training experience.
I could see this also helping with patience with some of my dogs, having them lay nicely and wait for things.
I’ve never seen a winner posted.
