    Great tips Sugar, I would add to play the TV LOUD! It doesn’t work for us unless we play the TV loud…if Dakota hears the fireworks, he will bark. Have a great 4th! xoxo

    And REMEMBER…. DO NOT TRUST that an underground Fence will keep them in the Yard during that Horrid Booming… IN THE HOUSE is where it is SAFEST.

    Our neighborhood is usually pretty quite on the 4th but our mama has planned a party in our guest bathroom (no windows and super quiet) just in case. We have four foster kittens here and we don’t want them, or us, to get scared.

    Fireworks can be very scary even for humans. Duke has never minded them. We can see them and hear them quite well from our back yard.

    Bentley will be enjoying the day inside with his Thundershirt secured. He is NOT a fan of this holiday except for some grilled chicken. ♥ Happy Fourth of July!

    These are great tips. One thing I would add is that if your dog has a favorite toy, that can help too. Cricket loves her balls and if we give her one to carry around, or toss it lightly for her, it keeps her distracted. We do this for bad thunderstorms as well.

    Hope your Fourth of July was fun and safe. Katie and Sophie are the only ones that dislike the noise. Bailie and I actually kept going outside to play with all the fireworks and were not phased by it at all. Cat bro Bert sat on the bed and watched them, he is so dog like. From out house we can see them from the bedroom, so that is where he was. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

    My dog, Zoe hates fireworks too! It used to be so bad that she would shiver and shutdown and I couldn’t do anything to help her. We actually ended up moving to a county that doesn’t allow them and we enjoy our 4ths and New Years much more now.
