Weeks ago, we were invited by Melissa from Barking from the Bayou to join the
Writing Process Blog Tour.
Melissa is the pet parent of Pierre and Bentley. Last May, we met Melissa and the best Bassett Hound dog flat Bentley at Blog Paws. Recently, we had an opportunity to review Melissa’s entertaining book The Returns. We invite you to check out Melissa’s blog, book and her writing process.
Collaborative Team of Golden Woofs: me (Rosalyn) and SUGAR. If you are a regular follower of our blog, you might have noticed a change in the narrating “voice”. This year, I decided to add my voice on the blog as a pet parent. Sugar continues to have her own posts with her familiar parting words, Lots of Golden LOVE n Woofs.
What Am I Working On? … several posts for the coming months. I have a green notebook full of idea posts. I compose draft posts, mostly consisting of bullet points, in my computer and some in my head. I’m also working on my next book. It’s been 3 years since I successfully published my 1st children’s book, Sugar’s Furry Friend. I look forward to finishing and utilizing the same process for success.
Why Do I Write What I Do? … Sugar brings me so much joy and inspiration. Blog post ideas come from our walks and adventures. FUN is the word I often use and one reason I started blogging. In blogging, I believe the importance of having FUN. Sugar always reminds me to, “Have FUN! No Matter What …”.
How Does My Writing Process Work? … I graduated with a Math degree so I approach my writing process in a mathematical style. My green idea notebook consists of blog formulas. From these formulas, several equations are derived which results in a blog post. Photographs are part of the equations too and play an important role. I also use a blog planner calendar where I write down specific post for the month.
Inviting 3 Bloggers To Join The Writing Tour
Cat and Nailah: I love Cat’s DIY and review YouTube videos. It’s awesome and I invite you to check out Cat and Nailah at The Adventure of Puppy and Cat.
Rachel and Rooney: Rachel, a relief veterinary technician, shares her love and enthusiasm for animals at My Kid Has Paws.
Of course I have to include a Golden Blogger … Shannon, Tucker and Betty: If you love Goldens or need a Golden dose, The Daily Golden is a blog you must visit.
I did notice the change of your voice rather than Sugar’s and it works very well. Very interesting that you use math! I can do math, but I would hardly call my approach mathematical lol. And yay for calendars!
I enjoy reading…whether it is you or Sugar! I cannot get enough beautiful Sugar photos! Happy Friday!
I love seeing all the different ways bloggers prepare their posts. Everyone is so different and unique just like their blog which is so cool. You’re right, it’s all about having fun and loving our furry guys 🙂 Happy Friday!
Thanks for sharing your process.

Boy oh boy is YOUR process involved!!! Loved reading about it though! I was invited but of course, you know me…..declined, I LOVE reading about everyone else’s “process” though!
We noticed your voice in addition to Sugar’s and are really enjoying both of your posts! Especially now that Mommy met you and Sugar it’s like you’re talking to us! 🙂 Good luck with your future writing projects!
We didn’t know about this tour… fun!!!
Thank you for joining with me in the Writing Process Tour. I love that photo of Sugar and Bentley. ♥ We will have to take one of them both in the fur next time. You are so organized that it is no wonder that your blog is such a huge success. I’m proud to be your friend. ☺
Your blog is fabulous and I’m so glad I am part of your reading group. What a great writing process you have, I have ideas and sometimes put them on my phone but mostly try to memorize them. I do have a calendar thou.
I love the idea of the book for ideas, I may borrow that!
I have been a bit surprised Sugar has given up total blog control, but part of blogging is change. You both do a great job with posts and photos! We still remember when we were new to the whole blog thing and found your posts about HI so intriguing! Keep up the good work and can’t wait to find out more about your new book.
VERY interesting about how you do your posts… We tend to Post Ahead butt they are made up Instantly when we sit down to the keyboard… We have NO FORMULA… THAT is cool that you do.
It’s so interesting to see into some of the “behind-the-scenes” for your posts! We’re still trying to find our voice on our Blog and see what works best. You are so organized and methodical!
Yay! I can’t wait to write my post as well! I think it is so fun to see the “behind the computer” scenes. 🙂
We’ve been finding these posts quite interesting. Three of our blog furiends have invited us to do this so we will be diving in next week and try to explain our process. You are obviously mush more organized than or mom is. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Great to read how everyone approaches it differently and there is so much creativity. Have a super Saturday.
Best wishes Molly
Great post, we always are so curious about the process of writing of other blogers. You can learn so much things from experienced bloggers 🙂
Sugar, I agree with you and your mom, first and foremost, blogging should be fun…..
Happy to have found you. Enjoyed reading about the process.
Very interesting to read that you have a math background! It’s cool to see how our different strengths lead us to plan and write differently. 🙂 Thanks for inviting us to join in, can’t wait to share!
I love hearing about everyone’s writing style. Very neat you have a math background, love the idea of blog formulas.
The book is absolutely adorable!
I admire how organized you are, and love the emphasis you put on having fun! It was great to learn about your writing process. I’m glad to hear you are working on another book as well….my grandson loved your first one!
