Last week, Sugar and I the Golden Woofs team were invited along with other 10 bloggers and pet professionals to attend the 3rd PetSafe Paw Print Blogger Summit in Knoxville TN.
The goal of the summit is to learn more about PetSafe, as a company, products and role in the pet industry.
PetSafe provided us swanky accommodation. In our room, we were welcomed with a bag of goodies and a drinking fountain. The summit started with a sunset dinner at Lakeside Tavern together with fun pet conversations. Among the attendees were the PetSafe Summit team, Jason Hart, Jim Tedford, Jessica and Jessie.
Day 2 started with bus ride to PetSafe headquarters office which encompasses PetSafe Village, 24 hour boarding facility, and PetSafe Dog Park. Our morning started with an introduction breakfast and a tour of PetSafe with Jason Hart.

We also learned more about PetSafe latest products. We’ve reviewed many PetSafe products and have been a long time consumer of PetSafe’s Premier pet products. Sugar’s wears an all cotton harness inspired by Premier Easy Walk Dog Harness. It’s not the typical nylon material as Sugar developed a skin allergy. Both Sugar and Rocco were bonkers for the Indigo treats.

It was an honor to meet and have lunch with Randy Boyd, Founder and CEO of Radio System Corporation which consist of PetSafe, Invisible Fence and Sport Dog. Mr. Boyd was very humble in sharing his beginning and success. Mr. Boyd provided great insights on PetSafe’s Mission “to build the most trusted pet brands.” and PetSafe’s Values which spell “The Will” where in T stands for try – “The only failure is failure try.”
The highlight of Day 2 afternoon was visiting the University of Tennessee (UT) College of Veterinary MedicineWe met Dr. Julie Albright, PetSafe Chair in Small Animal Behavoral research. We also toured the enormous college.PetSafe help fund the case studies of Dr. Julie Albright and some of the school’s equipment. We had an opportunity to visit the Equine Performance & Rehabilitation Center and got to meet a horse named Cheese. Day 2 ended at the Icon Ultra Lounge where we had a dinner and a bird’s eye view of beautiful Knoxville valley.
It was exciting to start Day 3 at the Scripps Networks Interactive, home of HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network and others. PetSafe has partnered with Scripps in promoting PetSafe products in their Smart Home projects. They recently featured the PetSafe Passport Pet Access Smart System in their 2014 Smart Home. Golden Thanks to Scripps for the awesome tour and gift.

Back to PetSafe headquarters, we had an opportunity to learn more about the safety use of e-collars for training from Robin MacFarlane, owner and training director at That’s My Dog. On a future post, we will discuss more about e-collars.

Wonderful to meet Jim Tedford, Director of Animal Welfare, and discussed in depth PetSafe’s involvement in the community. PetSafe does a lot and its incredible. Jim Tedford’s love for animals and passion to help, reflects in PetSafe’s philanthropy. We will talk about this more as PetSafe recently contributed to Sugar’s therapy group association.
The PetSafe’s Blogger Summit concluded at Betsy House with a cowboy BBQ dinner, bonfire and a private concert by Jay Clark.
PetSafe is a happy place to work. It is very pet friendly. Randy Boyd, PetSafe Founder & CEO, sits in a cubicle just like everyone else. He moves desks each year to sit with different people in different departments. Other executives also sit in an open cubicle.
Both Sugar and Rocco enjoyed a short play at PetSafe Dog Park. It was interrupted by wet ground and un-scooped poop. Since the park is utilized by the public too (not just employees), many are being irresponsible dog owners and not picking up after their dog 🙁
PAWsome time at the 3rd PetSafe Blogger Summit. Lots of Golden Thanks PetSafe for providing our transportation, accommodation and meals.
We invite you to check out PetSafe, their products, community outreach, animal behavior studies and their blog too.
what a great time you had, you met such fabulous people and a horse named cheese and I melted away as I read about the cowboy BBQ. And I like the name of this horse, it’s cool to be named after a tasty thingy and it’s funny when they have to call you :o)
What a wonderful experience for you and Sugar! Sounds like a great time was had by all!! You packed a whole lot of activity in to just a couple of days. Great Review!

Sounds like a great time and getting to hang out with Rocco had to be super fun. Sad to hear about the unscooped poop in the park. Maybe they need some literature or signs that has the #ScoopthatPoop campaign on it.
Sounds like you had a fabulous time there Sugar. Sorry you and Rocco had to put up with the un-scooped poop. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Awesome coverage of the event. One of my highlights was meeting you and Rosalyn. PetSafe is a company I feel good supporting. Look for my summit report tomorrow 🙂
That looks like such a great time! Mauja is a huge fan of the Indigo treats as well 🙂
We LOVE PetSafe products, especially their indigo Dental Bones & Sticks. We have an upcoming review of the new Smokehouse Strips. ♥ I’m so glad that you and Sugar were able to attend. Thanks for sharing.
Sounds like a great trip!
Sounds like it was a fantastic time! I think my favorite part was the part about HGTV. I like that some “smart” pet products are being featured in the homes. Great re-cap Sugar!
Sugar what a great time you and mom had. Dear me…why are folks so ill mannered as to not leaving the Dog park as clean as they found it.?! No telling what their homes look like.

What a great experience. My sisters and I enjoy their treats, and Bailie loved the dog park at BlogPaws.
You aren’t the only ones who love PetSafe, we do as well, we have two of their easy walk harness’ and their big dog drinking fountain!
Wow, that’s a lot to take in. I’m so glad you got this opportunity. I am curious to learn more about what they had to say about using e-collars. I am a big fan of the company’s Easy Walk harness and also some of their toys are pretty indestructible.
