Does your dog jump and scratch the door? For some dogs, when they get excited, greeting you at the door and/or alerts you, they jump and have a tendency to scratch the door? Clawguard offers a solution to protect your door from dog scratches.
When Sugar was a young pup, she made lots of markings on our front and back doors. Sugar particularly made lots of paw scratches and nose prints. Nowadays, Sugar just stands by the door but there are times she likes placing her nose by the door. The Clawguard has been helpful especially when we are currently in a temporary place. We only have one main access door. The door is also painted white. The Clawgurad is a pawsome way to protect the door from Sugar’s nose marking.
If you have a dog that scratches your door, Clawguard keeps your door clean and scratch-free. It is made in the USA using recycled plastic, which is thin but sturdy. You can either use the smooth or textured surface. When your dog scratches the smooth side, the sound is minimal. The textured side delivers a sound that is easier to hear.
How does Clawguard Protect Your Door from Dog Scratches?
The Clawguard is easy to install and easy-to-remove without compromising the integrity of a door. It hangs from the doorknob or lever knobs. The coverage area measures 18″W x 43″L which protects both the door and door frame from damage caused by pet claws. Clawguard was designed to fit standard interior and exterior doors and door frames. However, if you need a custom-fit door shield, it can be trimmed with household scissors.
Here’s a video on how the Clawguard works:

The Clawguard does not hinder you when you open or close the door. The bottom part has a tendency to move or lift. Clawguard offers an optional velcro fasteners for added stability. Visit Clawguard’s Gallery page for photos on the different ways to use on your door.
The Clawguard was made for dogs but cat owners can use it too. We know many cats that scratch both doors and door frames.

Honestly, that would have worked really well for our big brother!! And for our German Shepherd before him…they were always getting in to things!! Shiva Marie actually chewed a whole right through the drywall! Boy, she got in trouble for that!! We can’t reach that high up…so it is not a problem for us. The Clawguard seems like a terrific invention!

It would be great for my one dog who scratch at my front
door when some one arrives.
We need this in the main living area. The dogs are left in this living area during the day with access to outdoors via a doggy door. I keep them there because it is far away from the street so they don’t spend all day defending our house.
This has meant though that the one door that leads to the house is really scratched up. As far as I know they only do it when they can hear that one of us has come home. They jump up and down and their tootsies scratch up the door and wall nearby. I mentioned to my partner that we might need something like this!
When they get excited, or need to refresh their nails
My youngest collie has scratched when we are outside and he wants to be with us. We’ve nipped it in the bud but just bought a camper and think this would come in handy with the door to the camper.
my dog scratches at the bottom of the door to be let out and the cats use it as a nail sharpener, ughh
I don’t need it but am sure there are many foster families that do so would donate it to one of the rescue organizations – love sharing even when its things we have won 🙂

I really need this. I board dogs in my home. My doors are trashed.

When he smells the food bucket coming…..

My dog only scratches the door when she wants to go outside or come inside.
My boxer Frankie has separation anxiety. He will destroy the house if left alone. We took the spare bedroom and turned it into his room. We made it a positive place for him with behavior conditioning. He is getting better when left alone in his room. The biggest problem now is he will scratch on the door when he wants out. This would really help us from having to replace another door and combat his last issue.
They scratch when they want to go outside.
Yoshi scratches the door if he hears someone in the hallway or wants to go outside. He will also scratch and jump up if I go out to get the mail, etc. without him.
