I am lucky that I was able to witness Sugar grow from a puppy. Here’s Sugar at 7 1/2 weeks. It’s her 1st photo at our backyard. Sugar was trying to figure out how to get to the grassy area.
National Puppy Day
Today is National Puppy Day. The first National Puppy Day was declared in 2006 by Collen Paige, Pet Lifestyle Expert. The purpose is to celebrate the unconditional love and happiness that puppies bring to our lives. Also, it is a day of awareness about the existence of puppy mills. Sadly, puppy mills and backyard breeders still exist. Make a difference, Adopt! There are puppies in shelters and rescue groups.

Rosie ( and Krystal) have taught me to love unconditionally. They have taught me patience and love like no other. Rosie would need a medium collar (5/8″ width) and a 6′ (or else 4′) narrow lead. Thanks for the giveaway. I love our adopted dogs!
My adopted senior dog Mike (adopted just this January) had taught me that walks really are good for you and that loyalty and patience count for a lot. Mike is a Chihuahua and Corgi mix; so even though he is small his neck is huge. He needs a size M (12-18”); Narrow 5/8 “ and a 6′ Narrow Lead would look best with that I think.
At five years old Mike had never before been walked on a leash. He loves it now and waits by the door.
1) My dog continues to teach me how to live in the moment. He greets every morning bouncing down the hall to breakfast, loves all the members of our family and car rides, walks and other adventures are never turned down.
2) Artie would wear the L (15-21”); Wide 1” and the 6′ wide lead would look great with the collar.
1) My pup has taught me to take a deep breath and relax… everything is better after a walk.
2) Visit Up Country Adopted Dog Collar: Medium narrow
Adopted Lead: 4′ narrow
My adopted dog, Holly, has taught me to find joy in the little things in life and to always find time for fun. Holly would wear a size small narrow.
Sorry – and a 4′ narrow lead 🙂
Awww, what a cutie she was back then! Just like my girls! I was lucky enough to meet Callie when she was only 2 weeks old. Her eyes were barely open, and she fit in my hand. Now her snout is the same length that her whole body was back then. 🙂
Adopted dogs make wonderful companion dogs. They seem to have more compassion for people who need them than the average dog
2) Visited Up Country Adopted Dog Collar: Medium narrow
Adopted Lead: 4′ narrow
Puppies are the bomb and grow up to be wonderful dogs. Cute collar and leash.
My puppy teaches me to laugh more. I laugh a lot already but he is just SO silly.
1) My 4 adopted dogs have taught me about unconditional love, strength and understanding.
2) collar – large // leash – 6′ wide
1. hes taught me a lot of patience and love!! 🙂 2. M (12-18”); Wide 1”
We adopted Bennett through IGCA Rescue of Texas. He has taught me so many things but the biggest think is unconditional love. He was a stray and was one the streets as a puppy. He loves with everything he has. He would need an XS and a 6′ narrow lead would be perfect!
Cuteness overload. The funny thing is she kept her puppy cuteness when she grew up 🙂
OMD OMD OMDDDD!!!!!!!!!! Whoa whoa!!!!!!! I’ve never seen you as a puppy Sugar, and BOY were you adorable – And it hasn’t changed, has it girl? Still a sweet princess.
Woofs from Earl, Ethel and I at Earl’s World!
My dog has taught me patience and to live in the moment.
Medium narrow
1) We adopted a 10 year old deaf half blind sheltie when we were looking for a puppy. She has taught us so much about Total acceptance, unconditional love, how to be happy and live in the moment and also sign language!
2)I’d love to win a 6′ Wide Double Sided lead but would be happy with any of them.
2) collar size would be L or XL
Our adopted dog Bowser has taught me to be happier. It sounds cheesy and basic but I suffer from anxiety and deal with a lot of stress. Bowser, our perfect rescue pup, has shown me how important (and rewarding!) it is to simply enjoy the moment and choose happiness!
We would need a L wide collar.
Awesome giveaway!
I was just on Up Country’s website looking at collars! I noticed this one and loved it.
Luke has taught us that even though the road may not always be easy, the love of an adopted dog makes it well more than worth it!
Whoops, forgot to leave our size! Luke wears a LARGE.
I also meant to say that I don’t think I’ve ever seen a puppy photo of Sugar before…..she was adorable, no wonder she grew up to be such a beauty!
My adopted dog has taught me how to find joy and excitement in the little things.
I would choose the XXL Wide sized collar.
Jewels has taught me to give people and pets a chance along with patience and kindness. Couldn’t imagine my life without her.
She would need a large/6 wide
Dobby has saved me a million times over! He’s my constant companion and when I’m mid panic attack my husband and family will grab him for me if he’s outside. He is also an amazing therapy dog who works at schools, nursing homes, hospitals, & work rehabilitation places! He spreads love wherever he goes! He’d like to get a small collar for a friend who just adopted a new poodle
My rescue dog, Avery, has definitely taught me patience. She is a very willful little bugger.
I think she would need a size Large. Thank you!!
