Looks like some tasty recipes in that cookbook!
Funny how you say “tasty”, my son has been known to come into the kitchen and steal a bone or two when I am recipe testing. All my treats are human grade but it is still funny to see a 12 yr old walking around with a bone shaped cookie hanging out of his mouth. Even the dogs look at him strangely, ha!
Our pack has been on the homemade-K9-diet-road lately, so this cookbook sounds pawsome to us! SO entering the giveaway!
I hope you win a copy but just incase you don’t…Amazon had the hardback listed 20% off or you can buy the ebook for $2.99. Cooking for your dogs is so healthy and even better on the wallet! Some of the recipes call for wheat flour but you can always substitute with spelt flour if you need a recipe grain free. XOXO
Yumm, Jade is drooling over here.
Then you should see my house during recipe testing days! Every dog within a mile radius is dragging their owners to my house…they get all the left over treats because my dogs would weigh 200lbs each if I let them test everything!
we put together peanut butter, carrot juice, whole wheat flour, cornmeal, and water.
Can you send me this recipe? Sounds awesome! I have not recipe tested with carrot juice. I’d also like to try the recipe with grain free flours. I wonder how coconut flour would work? You have the gears in my mind turning 😉 info @ shaggydogeats . com XOXO
We love veggies and anything that is stinky or saucy!
Also…this is so cool! Sugar you need to make your own cook book! It would sell!
Then you would love page 8, 21 & 24! Lots of flavors and stinkiness! & I agree on Sugar needing a cameo & recipe for my next book! It would be the most popular page, ha! XOXO
My border collie loves my homemade carrot and oatmeal treats.
Then I have you covered in Shaggy Dog Eats! Page 9 and page 23 would be two of your favorites!
I make my dogs peanut butter and pumpkin pupcakes and they love them!
Then try page 15….frozen!
My boys love pumpkin pupcakes! I am going to try making liver treats!
Dogs LOVE liver. My sense of smell….not so much. The hotdog crisp are a great alternative on page 7 if you want something easy without the smell. I also posted a video on my FB page (ShaggyDogEats).
Mine loves bacon! That’s about how creative I’ve been in the kitchen with dog treats. I could use this book for help!
PAGE 6, PAGE 6, PAGE6! The recipe is called Bacon! Bacon! Bacon! It contains wheat flour, so if you wanted to go grain free, just substitute with spelt flour! PS. The recipe calls for bacon drippings, so you get to eat the bacon 😉 win=win XOXO
My pugs love Puppy Ice cream. Simply made is Greek Yogurt mixed with a mashed banana or some peanutbutter or both or pumpking and placed in their kongs or ice cube tray and served frozen or nearly frozen. Olivia loves it.
The like turkey jerky and peanut butter bones. I also make Greek yogurt with peanut butter, banana, a bit of honey and blueberries. I then freeze the yogurt.
Rolly likes bologna and cheese balls.
They love dehydrated sweet potatoes & dried fish skins.
I cook most of Layla’s food and treats, her favorites are the dried liver treats I make so new ideas are always welcome 🙂
I make a treat out of carrots, unsweetened coconut, peanut butter, flax meal and bacon fat that Mike likes
Do cheese slices count?
Leonard’s Favorite homemade treats are when I blend together yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, and some organic and grain free dog treats all together and then freeze them in ice cube trays then put them in his Kongs. He absolutely goes bonkers over those.
Both of my dogs love my homemade chicken noodle soup. Thanks!!
