In honor of Father’s Day, I interviewed Caru Pet Food co-owner and co-founder Adrian Pettyan. Adrian is a proud Dog Dad to Karu, Chief Taste-testing Officer at Caru Pet Food.
Do you agree? Our pets bring so much inspiration to our lives.
I asked Adrian, “How does Karu inspire you?”
Karu inspires me with his loving and happy ways. He is always happy except when we go out without taking him with us. He makes me smile just looking at him because he is so happy. He inspires me with:
His love for his people. Karu’s love for me never changes. He loves without any expectations, and he is so happy to see us when we come home. He is the perfect example of the tail wagging the dog when we arrive home as he greets us with his whole body wiggling, and he is sings with his love to see us. This inspires me to treat the people I meet in a positive and caring way.
His playfulness. Karu is always in the mood to be active and to play. As a result of having Karu, Pamela and I make the time to play and enjoy the simple things in life like taking Karu for a walk. This inspires me to not take life too seriously and to make the time to be more active and just smile and enjoy the little things in life.
His loyalty. Karu always shares his time and his love with his people equally. He will curl up at the feet of his dog mom, Pamela, for a time allowing her to stroke him and then after a while he will get up and come over to me to share himself with me. Karu doesn’t play favorites with either one of us, and he inspires me to treat people equally; not to play favorites with them and to really show loyalty to those that are near and dear to me.
Adrian also shared morning cuddles before the day starts is one of the greatest thing being a dog dad to Karu.
Since it’s Father’s Day, I asked Adrian, ” What 3 Gifts would Karu give you if he could?“.
If Karu could give me a gift, it would be a nice coffee mug with pictures of him on it so that when I have my morning coffee, it will start my day right with a smile when I see his happy face.
He would also buy me a pedometer as he loves going for daily walks. He gets so excited when we put on our running shoes and then put his leash on him. With a pedometer, he will know that I can’t short change him on the length or our walk since the pedometer will tell both of us just how far we have walked.
Finally, Karu would buy me a new picture frame so I can put a picture of Karu with Mummas and Daddas on my desk as a reminder that he is always willing to give me a cuddle and lick to let me know that he loves his family as it is the little joys in life that are so rewarding.
This Father’s Day, Adrian plans to spend the day going for a long walk and then maybe playing in the park or running on the beach. Karu will be in his element with us and outdoors. And after all that, it will be cuddles time!

How Does Your Pet Inspire You?
They inspire me to be a better person
I totally agree with Jason….my girls inspire me to be a better dog mom every single day! They also teach me not to sweat the small stuff!!
Oh my gosh, they inspire me every day. They inspire me to be a better trainer, to be a better owner and to be a better more patient person. I have learned so much and grown so much by having them in my life. I don’t regret one second of having them.
My dogs inspire me with their unconditional love.
Olivia reminds me there is still life to live. She gives me hope when I am down and makes me feel loved when I feel unloved. She has inspired me to start a blog about her and Jaxon her BFF. It has really helped me in motivating me to enjoy life again. some people do not understand how much enjoyment my baby girl gives me and sharing her with the world has made me feel alive again.
Mom says we inspire her with our unconditional love and how we live in the moment! She wishes more humans were this way!
xoxo, Ginger, Matt & Matilda
I could echo his words. Shiloh’s complete devotion to me is what inspires me, and his joyful exuberance toward life.
My dogs inspire me to live life fully and appreciate every day! I’ve had dogs my whole life, and they come and go so quickly! You need to enjoy them while they’re here and make their short lives as full as possible!
Bentley is the inspiration for all that I do in my business and how I live each day. He shows me how to be loyal, understanding, funny, and to love unconditionally. Not bad for a droopy-eared Basset. We love Caru stews too. ♥
Shyla has had major surgery on the same leg 4 times for tumors that had to be removed. She has always been strong and brave through it all and still is a very happy girl. She inspires me to stay positive and to be strong no matter what I face.
My two inspire me to look at the bright side each day, no matter what drama seems to be going on in my life. Dogs don’t care about that stuff, and neither should I!
My dog inspires me with her unconditional love. From the time we get up until the time we go to bed she has nothing but love and licks of sweetness to share. She inspires me to be a better person.
Fenris and Tuiren inspire me to walk on the beach with them.
What a great interview, my gang inspires me to keep on training with them so they can be the best they can be at a hunt test.
great interview. my 3 gals inspire me everyday. they make me smile, laugh, and put some joy in my life, which lately has been pretty awful. so when i am feeling down and out, i just look at my girls and they lift me back up and put the fight back in me. they inspire me to stay healthy as well, so i can be their care taker and care giver to my oldest who is not doing well. i am going thru pt again and possibly surgery from an accident and i am also doing pt on her trying to strengthen her legs as she recovers from vestibular for the 2nd time.
My pup inspires me to live life to the fullest and reminds me to smile daily.
My dog inspires me with her unconditional love.
In every way.
I look at my cats and the lessons they’ve taught me are immense. Lessons about how to respect the differences between our species, the differences between their own individual personalities, and even the lessons I can take on as a human from them, such as:
– taking care of my own body
– not apologising for a little ‘me-time’
– taking pride in using that body and mastering all it can do
– being undeterred in my quest for affection when I need it, yet responsive to the other person’s needs as well,
– taking care of my family and my home and territory
– Unconditional love with healthy boundaries
– …
There is something to seeing the world through cat eyes… 😉
My dog Athena reminds me to play.
When I brush Rolly’s hair I am reminded to brush my own; thus, he inspires me to have better personal hygiene!

Baby RIP inspired me to run from a Domestic Violence Relationship with her, and when she passed away, I waited 3 months and then rescued Layla, who inspires me in so many ways but I think the most important one is she makes my life complete and happy
My rescue dogs brought love back into my heart after my husband died They taught me that I could go on because I needed to in order to give them the life that I had promised them
