Milo’s Kitchen, dog treats manufacturer, surveyed 3,000 dog owners (ages 21 to 65+) across the U.S. to determine how regularly they engaged in behaviors with their dog. These behaviors are 1) Thankful behaviors, 2) Grateful behaviors, and 3) Loving behaviors. As a dog owner, these are basic “normal” behaviors on how I pamper my dog, SUGAR.

Did Your State Make The List? Top 25 Most DOG HAPPY U.S. States
I guess we made the right decision to move to California.
Sugar moved to California for sun, laughter and happiness.
Interesting! SMILE for being dog happy! 🙂
Sugar that was a super interesting post! My mom is glad that she is not alone, but one of that 68% :o)
This list actually surprises me. I would expect Illinois to be MUCH higher on the list, considering how “dog-friendly” Chicago is.
Detroit (and the surrounding suburbs) is NOT “dog-friendly” and should be waaaay down. Maybe up North they are much friendlier here in Michigan.
I do know that Ohio and Michigan rank at the bottom for apartments allowing tenants to have dogs.

We made the top 10!!!
Oh we loves that picture Sugar, but our state of Iowa did not even make the cut! MOM says that does not surprise her AT ALL!

Happy to see 2 New England states made the list… our Mama’s home state and our current state. YAY! – Penny
Cool list, I’m glad us Michigander’s made it on there – number 12 isn’t too bad at all.
You must really love being in the happiest dog state!
Woo hoo!! California!!
Yay – we are fifth position – don’t know why Tennessee is ranked 4th though, we didn’t find it at all dog friendly and they have way to many kill shelter.
Cool list 🙂
Thanks for made us 2 .
really I feeling happy seeing this list 🙂
Sugar, I’m amazed to see Virginia on the list. There are so few pet-friendly venues or stores here. Even restaurants with outdoor seating rarely permit dogs. I saw dogs everywhere in SoCal. Lucky you to live there now!!!
welcome to california, sugar! we love it here and hope you will too.
