Do you have a cat? How fancy is your cat?
According to Adam Ellis, an illustrator at Buzzfeed and author of Tiny Hats on Cats, “Every Cat Deserves to Feel Fancy.”
Adam Ellis adopted tripod cat Maxwell from the shelter. Maxwell captured Adam’s attention with his big Disney eyes. Maxwell is a tripod cat, but he gets around. According to Adam, he is spoiled and incredibly lazy. One reason, Maxwell can patiently pose with all the paper hats that Adam created.
Tiny Hats on Cats started on Instagram. Adam found some old left over construction paper and decided to make a fancy funny top hat. He snapped a photo of Maxwell and posted on Instagram. It was a hit! Adam continued to make more themed top hats … more than a hundred paper hats until they got very popular on Instagram.
Tiny Hats on Cats book is a collection of cute tiny paper hats he created plus how-to guides. Love it!!! No elaborate tools needed as illustrated on the book.
Each step-by-step instructions are very easy to follow and accompanied by photos. There are 36 tiny hats you can create for your cat – one for every occasion. Adam also featured other cats to model his tiny paper hats. One of them is Peppercorn, Maxwell sister. Peppercorn is also a shelter cat. Her adoption fee was waived because she wouldn’t stop biting people who tried to pet her. Luckily, Peppercorn doesn’t bite anymore … just enjoying posing for tiny hats.
So many adorable cat photos with their tiny hats. Oh! I plan to make some of these cute fancy tiny hats … of course for Sugar.

Oh, this is the cutest ever. I’ve made little hats but not as intricate as those!

That is one super cute book!! I just LOVE the hats!! Intricate indeed!! I miss having my cats…I had to get rid of them when I was diagnosed with asthma and cat allergy. I would have tried to make those cute little hats…but I’m pretty sure mine would not have turned out as good as the ones in the book!!

At this time we do not have a cat. Our cat of 16 years passed away a couple of years ago. 2 of my sons have 2 cats each that they rescue. I go to their house to get my cat fix. My one son has triplet 7 years old and they have 2 cats and 2 dogs. They love to read about cats and dogs. They would love to have this book in their collection.

This is just hilarious! I grew up with cats and absolutely adore them. I’d love a cat but not sure if my dog would! I show my mom’s two cats lots of love… catnip treats, brushing, and lots of cuddle time – whether they want it or not! 😉 I would SO make my mom’s cat Boo a tiny hat. When he was smaller, I’d dress him up in American Girl Doll clothes… he looked fabulous! (he is a very relaxed kitty, obviously)

There is no way Yoshi would wear a hat, he hates anything we try to put on him.
Julie Lundstrom says
I pet my Cat alot and shower him with toys. I would make him a tiny hat to wear.
Linda Reed says
Of course I would make some cute hats for my cats. My cats get a massage every day, they even line up for their turn. They get lap time whenever they want it, even if I don’t. Their water dish is refreshed whenever water is being run in the sink, after all it was at least 10 minutes when it was last filled. And I show them love by letting them sleep wherever they wish to do so.

We have 4 cats and I am going to try and make a hat but not sure if they will enjoy wearing it. We call them our fur babies and we give them lots of love and really everything they need to have a great long life.
Lisa F. says
LOL, I would not make my cat wear a tiny hat. But it is funny… I love my cats by giving them anything they need, especially love. 🙂
Denise Steele says
I spoil them with yos and treats. I would totally make hats for them!

My cat Stinky is occasionally dressed by me but she usually just tries to eat what I put on her. paper is something she really loves to try and eat so making a hat would be super special for me and her!
