Oh Halloween always reminds me of my senior rescue….my precious dog had passed away, and I was shopping with my sister. She had to run into the petstore and get her dogs treats…they were having adoption days…and I fell in love with a senior lab mix that looked so sad. He had just been picked up by our rescue from another state where he had been looking for a new forever home for almost 1/2 year. I didnt have the money to adopt him…but got the ladies number and was talking with her to adopt as soon as I got paid. Well…the next day was Halloween…the doorbell rang…I thought it was my first trick or treater…and it was the dog in a pumpkin costume! My sister and son had arranged to get him for me! Oh I cried….we are best buds and he is so happy!!! Halloween is always a special time for me to remember how I got him…and how blessed I am to have him!
We are trick or treating with the kids. We are not dressing them up.
