Coinciding with National Adopt A Shelter Dog Month, Petco launched a new Think Adoption First video featuring Sutton Foster, actress, singer and dancer, and her dog Mabel (a Dachshund and Yorkie mix).
Think Adoption First Video Series
Petco Think Adoption First video series started early this year featuring celebrity pet parents and their personal pet adoption stories. These video series affirms Petco’s commitment to a Think Adoption First Philosophy – to encourage prospective pet parents to consider adopting a homeless pet and help reduce the number of adoptable pets in shelters.
Petco previously partnered with these celebrities to share their pet adoption stories: 1) professional surfer – Taylor Knox, 2) professional skateboarder and rally cross driver – Bucky Lasek, 3) San Diego Padres pitcher – Tyson Ross, and 4) roller derby athlete – Bonnie Thunders

“Think Adoption First is rooted in our belief that every pet should have the chance to be adopted into a loving home and we continue to support this commitment through our work with the Petco Foundation,”
Jim Myers, Petco CEO
Petco and the Petco Foundation partners with thousands of local animal shelter groups. Through in-store adoption events, they help find homes for more than 400,000 animals every year as part of the Think Adoption First initiative. Check your local Petco stores for their in-store adoption events (usually held during the weekends).

PETCO is a long way from our house… butt we love them. We went there a few weeks ago…
Ohhhhh Sugar you will never ever in 100 years believe…we know who Sutton Foster is and how talented she is. Mabel is adorable. My peeps are friends with Sutton’s 2nd cousin. Her 2nd cousin, Steve, is married to mom’s bestest friend from high school. Evidently loving K9’s runs in the family too. Her cousin and his wife are loving servants to MacGyver a Cairn Terrier. Mom has had Gyvie on our blog several times.
Hugs madi your bfff
I have volunteered for adoption days at our local Petco and it is always a great time.
I don’t even know if there is a Petco near us. I know there’s a pet smart.
