Since we are new in SoCal, we continue to explore dog-related places and stores. Last weekend, Sugar explored Kriser’s Natural Pet Store, Irvine, CA. Kriser’s is a familiar pet store that we often visit in our old neighborhood in Wilmette, Il.
Kriser’s invited Sugar to visit their store location in Irvine, CA. Sugar was provided a gift card to shop and help spread the word about Kriser’s Natural Pet Store, but Golden Woofs only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. Kriser’s is not responsible for the content of this article.
Brad Kriser founded Kriser’s Natural Pet Store. His senior dog Maggie inspired him and how the natural lifestyle helped pets to live a better life. Brad Kriser started in the pet business when he opened The Barking Lot in 2000, a pet care services in Chicago. The store had a small selection of all-natural pet supplies that took off. From these, in 2006 Kriser opened his first store in Lincoln Park, Chicago. He now has grown to 30 locations which include Southern California, metro-Denver, and Houston area. Last March at Global Pet Expo, Kriser’s Natural Pet Store was named as the best overall multi-unit pet retailer specializing in natural pet food, supplies, and grooming.
Kriser’s Natural Pet Store
“The Whole Foods of the pet world—that’s what we want to be known as.”
4 Reasons To Visit Kriser’s Natural Pet Store
1. Welcoming Environment – The layout of Kriser’s store was inviting. The staff register was visible as we entered the store, and we were greeted by a happy employee. The shelves were low, orderly and products were amply stocked. The dark wood shelvings provided extra product visibility and made it appealing. There were adequate lighting (not super bright) throughout the store and made shopping more pleasurable.
2. Trustworthy Brands – I’m a pet brand conscious pet parent and so happy to find most the products we use are at Kriser’s store. Kriser’s carries many of the treat brands that Sugar enjoys. Also, we are glad to find out that Kriser’s keeps Sugar’s kibble brand in stock (which not many stores here in OC carry).
3. Friendly & Educated Service – Kriser’s employees are allowed to bring their pets to the store. For sure this privilege makes their workday better for everyone – especially for Kriser’s customers.
4. Personal Touch & Approved by Brad Kriser – Throughout the store, you can sense the meticulous involvement of Brad Kriser. Products have gone through a “Brad Kriser evaluation” and most of the products has a special seal “Kriser’s Approved.”
Each Kriser’s store also offers grooming services. They only use natural pet products, no harsh chemical and pawfect for a pet with sensitive skin. One of the services they offer is blueberry facials, BOL!!! A service that I definitely would like to try for Sugar.

Woofs, Lots of Golden Thanks Kriser’s Natural Pet Store!
What an awesome store!! We wish we had a Whole Foods for Pets here too! We do not have anything like that. Sugar always makes the store look more welcoming!! Enjoy your Monday!
what a cool store! are that eggs-tremely long chewing sticks behind you? if, then I would like to live in that store :o)
I look at the lay out of the store and how it is set up for dogs and watch to see how the sales people interact with he dogs and human. My dogs go into the pet store overtime we go. We have a rescue a dog that gets very nervous sometimes he is OK and there times he walks in the door and looks around and wants to go back to the car. So my husband waits in the car with him. I would love to have a Kriser’s pet store in our area. I loved the pictures of the store and it looks so inviting to come in and shop!
That looks like a fun store to shop. I love to take Cocoa in stores to pick out a treat!!
i notice if the store is clean and well organized so i can find what i need. also if there is anyone around to help that looks like they know what they are talking abt and if they know their products.
i occassionally will take my dogs but am sort of skeptical lately b/c of the canine flu, so i only take them for special events, then i wipe their feet as well as mine b4 getting back into the car.
no not have a Kriser’s in the area, but i would love to. from the looks of it, it would put many of the local independent stores out of business as well a be big competitor to petco and petsmart who do not carry very many all natural or organic products. beautiful store, looks very well organized.
Looks to be a very clean and welcoming dog store.I like the fact
that the owner Brad Kriser has done all of the home work on the
products that he sells,so it poses no threat to my dogs.I do take one
of my dogs to a pet stores.
Looks like a fun store to take my fur kids to
I notice the layout and the brands they carry. If their employees are happy. We take our dogs to a pet store a few times a month- but don’t have a Krisers in our area- it would be a huge hit in Portland!
This looks like a terrific store. We don’t have one n our area, but it would be great if one opened here. I notice the layout of a pet store and whether it is set-up to welcome pets. Bentley and Pierre shop with me each time we visit our pet store. They love it.
I look for a clean store. I also pay attention to how the salespeople treat Tucker & Abby. It’s not like I expect them to be treated like the Queen of England is in the store (although Abby seems to think she is the Queen!), but I want them to be acknowledged. I’ve stopped going to a store because they were ignored. Sometimes that free treat stores hand out do make all the difference, because it makes my dogs excited to shop. And their happiness means our happiness!
We don’t have one here, although it does sound like a nice store and we would love to shop it! Tucker & Abby get to shop about once a week. They go out with us each time we go shopping so we know where all of the pet related stores are within a 100 mile radius so they can do a little shopping too. 😉
I like looking at the dog toys and I also like if there are friendly employees that can help you when you need them. I had 3 big dogs so I never brought them in a store. Now I have 1 and if I did get to one which is Petco and Petsmart about an hour away I would bring her. There are any Kriser’s stores near us though.
I don’t have a Kriser’s near mee. The first thing I notice are the treats like bully sticks, chciken Jerkyetc..
I take my dog about once a week. It is very entertainingfor heim. He likes to try to catch the fish thru the glass of the aquariums, Looking at the small pets , Mice rats, bunnies etc…
I notice if the store is clean and what types of pets they have and I always ask where they get there dogs/cats as to make sure I am not supporting a store that sells puppy/kitty mill puppys/kittys.
I love taking my dog to pet stores but the only pet store in town is a petland and I refuse to go in a store that sells puppy mill puppys, let alone buy anything from them. so in order to take my dog to a pet store I would have to drive 45 minutes, so we only go to pet stores once a month at most.
there are no Kriser’s pet stores in my town, I think it would be a good store in my city because as of right now the only pet store in my town is petland.
We don’t have this store, but I’m sure it would fit in well. Lots of pet focused people, but with only major chain stores to choose from. When I first go into a pet store, I almost always notice the toys first.
Kriser’s sounds like a wonderful pet store! I love the owner’s involvement and their employee-dog policy. Unfortunately, there aren’t any Kriser stores here on the East Coast (we’re in NC).
1) What do you notice when you visit a pet store? all the time
2) How often do you take your dog at a pet store? I think I may have taken one of the dogs once.
3) Do you have a Kriser’s pet store? If not, do you think it will be a good store in your city? No we dont, I’m unsure as I’ve never visited one.
I look for cleanliness, good prices, and variety. I’ve never taken my dog to a store. Our town is too small for a chain pet store like this.
That really is an awesome store. Amazing giveaway too! when I visit a pet store I prefer it to be locally owned, not a big chain store. I prefer that the store be choosy about which brands they stock. Luckily a store like that is nearby! However if a Kriser’s was, say, near the Whole Foods I’d stop in when I’m shopping for the vegan stuff I can only get at Whole Foods.
I take Nika often to different pet stores. She is always excited to see other dogs and loves to meet new people.
There are a couple of Kriser’s that I’ve go to. I like to see how things are arranged and how the store employees interact with me and Nika. I have found the stores to be very clean and orderly. I have not tried their grooming department yet. That may be something I will try out.
1) Cleanliness, quality products and good prices
2) Whenever the opportunity allows / there is a need
3) No we don’t, but I’d sure love one!
The first thing I notice are the big sale signs, I take my dog to the pet store once or twice a week and I don’t have a Kriser’s pet store in my city but would love it.

3) Do you have a Kriser’s pet store? If not, do you think it will be a good store in your city? No, we do not, but I think it would be a great store for our city. We have a lot of pet owners and we do have to travel quite a distance to get to a pet store.
When I go to a pet store the first thing that I see are the animals for sale I always check their cages to make sure they have food and water then I wander around looking at all the new goodies that they have I rarely take a dog with me because the pet stores are about 45 minutes away and while I’m in the city I usually go to several stores because I hate the city and go very infrequently We do not have a Kriser’s pet store and I think that it would go over really well in Gainesville
1) What do you notice when you visit a pet store? I notice animals for sale first
2) How often do you take your dog at a pet store? Not very often, couple times a year
3) Do you have a Kriser’s pet store? If not, do you think it will be a good store in your city?
We don’t have this store in our area. I think it would be a good addition.
We do not have a Kriser’s store in my city but I would welcome it among the big brand stores. I always love to look at the seasonal merchandise because it is fun to spoil my pet. We go to the pet store at least monthly if not more often.
What a great looking store. We have nothing like that near me. I tend to notice the lighting and smell when I first go into a pet store. I do not bring my dogs because I bundle my shopping trips and make multiple stops. Never leave a dog in a car alone!
I notice the prices of items and the cleanliness when I first go into a store. I usually don’t take my dog Josie to the pet store only because I shop for hours and she wouldn’t like that. I don’t have a Kriser’s store near me. I would love one.
I always look for a clean store, and one that has great sales and a good variety of treats! I often take the dogs with me to the pet store…they love to go! We do not have a Krisers by us, but we visited the one in Illinois when we were there visiting relatives this summer. We are going next week again and cannot wait to shop there again! We loved it and hope to get one by us soon!!!
Right now we visit the pet store around once a month. Yes, a Krisers sounds wonderful!
We bring our dog to the pet store once a month and whenever they have in-store events. We also bring our dog to other pet friendly stores such as Ben Franklin. We do not have a Krisers, but it would be great if we did, especially in our area.
I notice how clean the store is and how it’s organized. We don’t have a Kriser’s near us. I don’t take the dogs to pet stores.
I don’t have a Kriser’s pet store near me but I would love if there was one! We take the dogs at least once a week to the pet store. The first thing I notice is how organized and clean the store is. I also notice the big displays in the middle of the store and how friendly the staff are.
I used to take my dogs to pet stores more often than I do now. They always loved the trip and there were always great smells for them. I don’t have a Krisers store here, but the more options you have for pet items, the better.
When I go to a pet store the first things I notice it the cleanliness of the store and the types of products they offer. I don’t usually take my pup with me because she is very excitable. I do have Kriser’s near me in Irvine Ca and I love shopping there it is a great pet supply store.
I notice the wide variety of dog foods treats etc. We usually take her every other week to pick a treat and a toy. We do not have a Kriser’s pet store in our area and I think that it would be great to get one so that we have a different store to go to then only the one we have
That store looks awesome. I do not take my dogs into any pet store. I live in a very rural area, so very limited shopping available. If I lived near one of the Kriser’s stores I would shop there.
1) What do you notice when you visit a pet store? CLEANLINESS
2) How often do you take your dog at a pet store? Three times a year
3) Do you have a Kriser’s pet store? No
If not, do you think it will be a good store in your city? We totally need another quality pet store for sure in my city!
We take a dogs once in a while. They love going to the pet shop and smelling all the other dogs.
i never take my pet to a pet store. we live in the country and i go to the store when i am at work on lunch break. i notice the sales when i go to the pet store.
I do not take my dog to the pet store. She is an australian shepherd and tries to herd everyone. She gets very anxious that she can’t do her job.
We don’t have Kriser’s pet store. We have pet smart and petco. Not sure if we need another one.

I notice the atmosphere of a pet store – are the employees smiling, are customers enjoying themselves, are the dogs visiting have a good time or look distressed? I don’t take my bulldogs to a pet store as they get too nervous and excited and are hard to control. We do not have a Krisers but definitely think my town could use one.
I like a pet store with a lot of options and with lots of doggies to visit with. I don’t take my dogs to often to the store, they don’t have the best manners and they tend to get barky. I don’t have a Kristers near by, but I would love it if we did. Thanks!!
Wow! Kriser’s looks like a very cool store to visit and shop in. This is a very neat giveaway for some lucky dog. I have my fingers crossed it is my furkids. ????
I always notice what is on sale and the new items. We do not have a Kriser’s but, I live way out in the country and most of my visits are to the farm supply stores. My aussie usually always goes with me because he loves all the workers there because they give him treats! Ha!
!. The first thing I notice in a Pet store is how organized everything is and the variety of different foods and treats! I love going to pet stores to see what kind of selection they have.
2. I dont usually take my dog inside the store because he is an 80 lb Malamute and he’s too much to handle in a store sometimes!
3. We dont have a Krissler store but I would like one around here!
