I am a fit foodie. I believe in eating well and being healthy at the same time. Sugar is a fit foodie dog. I fuel her active life with the proper diet that keeps her happy, healthy and live longer. Sugar and I had the most delicious fun weekend at The Fit Foodie Run, San Diego.
I’m honored to be an ambassador for Cooking Light & Health Magazine: The Fit Foodie Run. It was a 3-day event, Nov 6-8 in San Diego. The event was and all about celebrating food, fitness, and fun.
The Fit Foodie weekend kicked off in-style Friday evening at the VIP Cocktail Party held at the Music Box and sponsored by Lexus.
Runners were energized with delicious food made with DelGrosso Sauces and Stella Artois drinks. The Fit Foodie 5k Run was held in the Embarcadero Marina South Park. It was a beautiful cool morning (pawfect running temperature). It was a dog-friendly run event.
There were about ten dogs that participated in the 5k. We met two Golden dogs and amazing tripawd dog.

Sugar did a pawsome job, and I’m so proud of her. Many congratulated her at the finish line.
Yes, she had some tasty dog treats (including a banana) after our run. At the Finisher’s Village, Sugar enjoyed tasty drinks from Evamor “Know Better” water and infused cucumber & grapefruit water served by Aveeno. At the Cooking Light table, Sugar was hoping to get a taste of some Seared Sliced Beef Sirloin available exclusively at Target.
Sugar was such a good dog and had lots of fun visiting different event vendors at the Finisher’s Village. With her Golden Charm, Sugar drew other runners to smile and say hello. Sugar’s charm was also caught by RunMC aka Mark Jones (emcee of the event).
At the Sunday Sweat Session presented by Fabletics, I had an opportunity to experience the Tracy Anderson Method. Tracy Anderson is the fitness guru behind Madonna’s arms and Gwyneth Paltrow’s legs. The workout session was taught by Stacey Mcdermott, one of Tracy’s certified instructors.
The Fit Foodie event ended with a delicious Cooking Light and Health Sunday Brunch by Marina Kitchen at Marriot Marquis.
Many Golden Thanks Fit Foodie for a fun weekend and awesome experience. Special Thanks to the “act of kindness” goodies from Kashi, Quest Nutrition, Del Grosso Sauces, Wasa, PBfit, and Rove Living.
If there’s a Fit Foodie Run next year, count Golden Woofs team in and hope to have additional dog-friendly goods and activities.
That looks like a fun event! Eating well is so important to keeping fit. Loved all the photos of Sugar enjoying the weekend.
