If your dog has itchy skin, it could be due to allergies. Sugar has allergies and deals with many Golden Itches! One reason I am always prepared wherever we go. At all times, I carry wipes and itch relief spray.

3 Ways to Treat Your Dog’s Itchy Skin
1.
Our recent move to Southern California was not helpful to Sugar’s allergies. Even though Sugar wears PawZ dog boots, she continues to have itchy skin and licks her paws and legs (specifically her back legs). One reason Sugar often gets an oatmeal bath. Oatmeal is known to provide itch relief. On a previous post, I shared Sugar’s bath experience with Bayer ExpertCare Oatmeal Shampoo.

Bayer ExpertCare Itch Relief Spray
Once again, Sugar and I explored PetSmart’s Health and Wellness aisle for Bayer® ExpertCareTM itch relief products. Veterinary formulated, Bayer ExpertCare provides At Home Pet Care products that are specially formulated for cats and dogs.
Bayer ExpertCare Itch Relief Spray for Dogs is made with 1% Pramoxine HCl and contains colloidal oatmeal. Both ingredients help temporarily relieve the itching and flaking. This spray promises to have the maximum effect within 3-5 minutes of initial application, wow! Bayer ExpertCare Itch Relief Spray is also available for cats.
I caught Sugar itching and licking her paws and legs after a recent long walk. I sprayed Bayer ExpertCare Itch Relief Spray on the area. The spray produced a light scent, but Sugar did not care. With just two sprays, it delivered a good amount of liquid to cover the itchy area. As promised, the spray provided temporary itch relief.
On our recent holiday vacation, Bayer ExpertCare Itch Relief Spray was very handy. Typically, a new environment equates to lots of Sugar’s itchiness. If you travel with your dog, Bayer ExpertCare Itch Relief Spray is a must bring in your dog’s travel bag.

If your dog continuously itching, licking and the area is red, I recommend that you call your vet for an examination. There are many ways to help relieve your dog from itchiness. Your vet can provide the best itch relief care that suits your dog’s need.
Sugar and I invite you to visit your local PetSmart store and check out products from Bayer ExpertCare itch relief and skin care for dogs (and cats too).
Does your dog suffer from itchy skin?
What temporary itch relief do you provide your dog?
We find the Oatmeal shampoo to be a big help, but will definitely be giving the Itch Spray a try! Chloe, in particular, suffers from random itching…especially when we are traveling from one state to another. The Itch Spray will definitely be going in the RV this year!
It is good to find something that works but you also have to be careful – dogs with grain allergies can also be allergic to anything with oatmeal in it.
Shiner has had a rough month in terms of itching. This stuff has helped her with it though. Going to try some more frequent itch relief baths. Her last bath helped a lot I think.
Harley’s been really suffering with allergies since we moved to SC #poordoodle I’m using DermaEase on him right now and that seems to help. We’ve also switched to a hypoallergenic shampoos regiment. Vet says he should get some relief once he gets acclimated to the new warmer climate. #prayingpaws
Hope you get some relief soon too!

Stetson had allergy and itch problems in the past, but since we moved it seems to have cleared up. Raven has had some Golden itches too and might have to make a visit with the vet. Thanks for sharing we’ll have to check out the Bayer Itch Relief Spray next time we have an itchy dog.
So hard to find the right product for itchy golden retriever dog. Will give this a try. Thank you Sugar. Woofs from Wilma
My doggie has grass allergies 🙁 !
During summer he bites his paws and he has a nasty rash on his tummy..
So I have to limit his time outside..
I actually was quite surprised to find out that many dogs have allergies!
I would LOVE it, if you could check out my blog post about it on http://www.puppytalesstudio.com
