Due to Sugar’s recent splenectomy, she has to wear a dog cone. Luckily, it’s not the usual hard plastic cone. Sugar is wearing a Soft Elizabethan Collar.
Sugar’s version of Cone of Shame … Cone of Golden SMILE!
Golden Thanks for your continued pawsitive thoughts and SMILES!
My Kyoko somehow got an infection in one of her back legs a few months ago and I had to keep her from licking it. A while back I bought an inflatable collar for one of my other dogs. It helped – for the most part, but she was still able to get to the leg if she really tried. How well does this type work? (Oh, and we’re all very happy things went well for you at the vet. )
Dat are one stylish cone!
It is really amazing that even though Sugar has been through so much lately, she still continues to smile! So good to see her smiling in her cone! Continued prayers for recovery…
Hopefully she only has to wear it for a short time – we hope she is recovering well
It’s about time someone reinvented the plastic cone! Lovely to see Sugar looking well and happy. I hope she’s all better soon.

I love that there are now soft cones. They are bound to be much more comfortable to the dogs.
That’s a fancy cone and beautiful smile to go with it Sugar!
LOVE that smile Sugar! And your cone is pretty darn spectacular!
Oh Sugar I hope you are feeling better really soon. Your collar is very regal looking and is obviously named after Queen Elizabeth I. Always good to look stylish and gorgeous whilst recovering and your are doing this so very well. Take care and have a relaxing day.
We think it really is too!
Keep Calm & Bark On!
Murphy & Stanley
I have seen the soft ones before but never one that gigantic!!! WOW!!!! That is giving her marvelous protection though. So happy to see her smile! xoxo
Well done for being such a good sport, Sugar. Keep getting better! 🙂
We used a soft cone with Bailey and his tooth abcess. It kept him from scratching his cheek but unfortunately he figured out how to collapse the cone and rub his cheek on it! So after his extraction and stitches in his cheek he had to have the hard cone 🙁
Happy to see your smile today Sugar
It’s great to see Sugar’s smile!!
The Florida Furkids
Looking just fine in your regal cone, Sugar. And we are still seeing that Golden smile!!!
Woos – Ciara and Lightning
Never have I seen a dog wear a cone better!
Hello! I’m Lola The Golden Retriever’s Mom, where did you buy the Cone? I want one? and the Shoes? thanks. 🙂
Of course Sugar would still be smiling….cone and all! The colors complement her very well!
So glad to see you up and smiling. They need to make those in other colors like a golden yellow!
Sugar, you look great considering you recently had surgery! <3 That cone looks much more comfy than Kronos's plastic one he has to wear for sure.
Sorry you have to wear the party hat. But I’ll bet your momma is glad it’s soft around the edges. It HURTS when dogs ram those hard cones into your shins!
Jean from Welcome to the Menagerie
Sugar, you always look good. I’m so glad that you have a soft cone and not one of those hard ones. Blue is your color. I hope you heal quickly so you won’t be bothered with any kind of cone. Hugs and kisses from me and Nika.
You are looking good Sugar!! We are sending good vibes and prayers to you!!
I bet keep smiling like that makes you heal fast! 🙂 Happy is sending you hugs and kisses! <3
Sugar, we can’t believe you are smiling even with the cone! You are amazing!
Hello Sugar, baby!! Its so good to see you home, recovering nicely. Even with that cone on, you still have a your mega-watt Golden Sugar smile for us! Rest up sweetie!
Love & biscuits,. Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
You look like a gorgeous flower! 🙂
We like Sugar’s name for the cone s much better!! I’ve never referred to it as a “cone of shame” because I don’t want that negative energy affecting my girls’ ability to heal from something that was not shameful. It was bad enough they had to wear a cone, they didn’t need negative energy from me making it worse.
That looks a whole lot more comfy than the traditional cone. Happy #sohappy to see your smiling face today. Take it slow, and get your rest.
haha that is so cute!!! I feel bad for Sugar, but I can’t help but smile! Even when recovering, Sugar still brings joy to my life!
