Sugar loves mealtime. She knows where her food is stored and barks when it’s time for her to eat. Sugar gets very excited and as a golden retriever, she has a tendency to woof down her meal. Feeding her small meals a day has helped a lot. Since Sugar is on both dry and wet food, I’m able to find fun ways to feed her kibbles. I’m sharing two ways on how I make Sugar’s mealtime fun.

Two Ways To Make Your Dog’s Mealtime Fun
1. Food Game
Find Your Toy – Sugar loves to play games. A combo game of hide n seek and fetch offer a fun mealtime.
I hide her favorite toy with a small portion of her kibble and ask her to find it. Then, she brings back her toy. This food game allows her exercise, mental stimulation and encourages her to use her sense of smell.
2. Food Dispensing Toys or Bowls – Nowadays, there are several brands of dog toys and food bowls that offer exciting ways to dispense food for your dog. For the past weeks, Sugar is having a pawsome time with PAW5 Rock N’ Bowl. PAW5 is an interactive enrichment dog bowl and puzzle. The sleek design builds off a dog’s natural hunt and forage instincts.
PAW5 is manufactured in the USA, made from BPA and phthalate-free recyclable plastic; using a zero-waste process.
It is easy to use. You simply pour your dog’s kibble on top; it holds up to 4 cups of food. The kibble runs through a hidden compartment, and then the dog fun begins.
“Mealtime is the perfect opportunity for your dog to sharpen his problem-solving skills by combining environmental enrichment, fun, and food into one new bowl!”
Sugar did the sniff test first, and then the paw and nudged bowl movements. PAW5 surely rocks! Sugar is so smart and figured out how PAW5 dispenses her kibble.
Serve up a challenge at your dog’s mealtime
PAW5 is durable and easy to clean. It breaks down to 3 dishwasher-safe pieces. PAW5 comes in two colors: Blue and Orange. We invite you to check out PAW5 website for more information. Subscribe to the PAW5 Newsletter to access a super-awesome Game Plan for an Enriching Life for you and your dog!

How do you make your dog’s mealtime fun?
Sugar I love this bowl and I too eat several small meals a day. Mom says I might be 1/8th golden since I tend to gobble. The cat BM (before me) was a grazer.mol
Hugs Madi your bffff
This bowl looks great, puzzle feeders are a good way to make mealtime fun!
I try to introduce a variety of proteins to make mealtime fun. Haven’t tried a puzzle feeder yet but this looks like a really interesting product.
This paws bowl looks like so much fun. We are gonna have to look for one!
That bowl looks FUN to US…. FUN and DELICIOUS at the same time… a grrrrrrreat combo.
As long as our WET Foodable Supper is NOT LATE… it’s all FUN…. We tell mom when it is TIME.
Wow! If Oz ate kibble, I would definitely use a bowl like that. What a great way to provide mental stimulation and slow down the gobblers all at mealtime!
My dogs have puzzle/slow feeders!
I make Schooner & Skipper meals fun with a variety of healthy foods and try different bowls & plates. The Paw5 would help Schooner from eat to fast.
We have been wanting to try a puzzle feeder!! Looks really fun!
My dog love gravy on his food, I also add real meat and veggies to his kibble.
Rocco loves his PAW 5 bowl. He smacks his across the room when it’s empty… just in case something else might fall out!
I guess we have never thought about making mealtime fun, because
one dog watches the other eat her meal before she will start to eat.
It would be fun to see how they both would react to this.
This is a great bowl to help slow down food gobblers & to make mealtime fun!
Love & biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
That bowl is so cool
Lily & Edward
The Paw5 bowl would be great for Schooner because he gobbles his food up so fast. I can get him to slow down and this would be the perfect bowl for me. Schooner would have fun watching the kibbles come out and eat. Get video of Sugar pawing the bowl and the kibbles coming out.
My furbabies love to eat. It’s fun to watch them get excited and anticipate eating. I ask them ‘are you ready?’ They love it.
This bowl looks like fun, we use game feeders in our home.
I add gravey
My son feeds our dog everyday and he always sings her a song. THank you!
I like to give a little treat in their food like a little gravy.
I have two puzzles my dog likes to do for treats. I feel like it helps her mental health as well.
Mealtimes are fun just because they get to eat! But this would provide an extra level of satisfaction for my doggies.
I like to mix things up for my dogs to keep meals fun – changing out foods (from dry to canned, to a few homemade items thrown in). One of my dogs – my Kyoko – was nearly starved before I adopted her and even now that she’s downright chubby, she likes to eat like she’s still starving, so I have had to find ways to slow down her eating without taking away her enjoyment of food. This bowl looks like it would be perfect for her.
We don’t really do anything at meal time to make it entertaining. We do have a food puzzle that I just started using at lunch time.
meal time is fun because she loves to eat.
We try to make our big furkid’s meals fun by tossing pieces of kibble in the air for him to catch and hiding little piles of kibble around the house for him to find. A puzzle toy might be perfect for us when we don’t have time to toss kibble!!!
I really dont. Molly is such a foodie see just eats what she is suppose to.
My Louie is such a chow hound that to him, meal time is just always fun!
My Bailey loves fresh carrots he gets them on his dinner every night and
he is so happy.
i have 3 gals to feed, all get different things. so it takes abt 15-20 min or more to fix their meals. the middle child waits at my feet to see if i am going to drop anything so i dont have to clean up my floors. the oldest, i have to show her the bowl and lead her to it and sometimes place her in front of it. she will sometimes step in the water bowl or turn over her bowl. the younger child is very picky, sometimes i have to go thru several different types of food for her to eat. one day she will like her food and the next wont eat it. she has always been this way since she was a baby. i try to make their meal times fun by making them do some obedience, waiting, sitting, etc b4 i feed them. the 2 younger girls get feed in their crates so they wont try to eat the older girls food. the yonger child is always the last to finish though, she is a very slow eater as well as picky.
I change her diet slightly so that she does not get bored. Eva D I also have a kong toy that she loves to find food and treats in
He gets bored easily so we try to add different things to his meals once in a while to make it more interesting. We will add fruits or vegetables that are safe for him to eat or cheese or scrambled eggs. He loves it!
Oreo LOVES things like this. He loves getting th ings out of his Kong and this would more challenging for him
Diana
my dog is a picky eater so its hard to make meal time exciting. i add extra treats to his food or wet food to get him to eat. im not sure how he would do with this!
I feed her twice a day and for one of the meals, she gets about a spoon full of wet food. It doesn’t sound like much but she goes wild for it! This bowl you showed looks like a lot of fun for both of us!
To be honest, I never thought about making my dogs meal time fun. I mostly would like him to slow down when he eats. We use a smaller than normal bowl so he can’t just inhale his food but I think this PAW5 bowl would help do just that. I think it would engage his brain.
I have a treat puzzle game that we use to make getting treats fun. Her regular meals I change up so she doesn’t get bored. She loves when I make her a doggie quiche. I make her doggie meatballs too.
I haven’t tried to make it fun. I just add special treats to his food. Like steak or chicken
My puppy eats all his meals out of a food puzzle. He would love this bowl!
I dance around and sing the dinnertime song. They always get super excited. =)
I probably do not make my dog’s mealtime fun =/ Often afterwards, we walk!
my dog is just excited to eat period. lol. I sometimes give her fresh veggies for a little more excitement.
I like to prepare it on the kitchen counter where they can watch in anticipation.
Tater loves toys that give here a challenge. Rope toys do not stand a chance with her because she can untie them every time.
I make meal time more fun by adding some of her favorite veggies to mix with her food. Sometimes we take the food outside to dine outside for a change of scenery.
My doggies get fed twice a day with some hand feeding involved
I haven’t really tried anything to make it fun.
I toss food around so sometimes they have to catch it, sometimes they find it in the grass.
Sometimes we give her something special to eat.
I love this bowl. Gives the dog a chance to use their innate instincts to hunt for food
We really don’t make our dogs every day meals fun per se. They do get excited when we fill them up. LOL!
I make them fun by adding things like scrambled eggs to the top of of their food.
Bubba loves ice cubes in his water at mealtime. He likes to bounce them with his nose.
When I give him dry food, I drizzle just a little bit of watered-down gravy on it to get him started!
We give them foods we know they will enjoy. Thank you
he gets people food sometimes which makes him very happy
They both eat out of puzzle toys, but it would be great to mix things up with a new one!
This would be perfect for my sisters furbaby. She spoils him all the time. I would give to her.
