What ingredients do you look for when buying treats for your dog?
I look from where it is made first,then
that it is grain free.What I noticed here,is that this product
does not use glycerin,which I never new that it was harmful to dogs.
Now it will be something to be looking for in treats that I feed my dogs.
I look for wholesome, made in USA made treats with no fillers, antibiotics, or grains. I love to read whole foods type like berries, veggies and meat. Non-GMO is a plus!

I look where it’s made and no fillers
I look for treats that are natural – ones that don’t have a lot of different unnecessary ingredients. Nika loves chicken jerky so I buy that most often. She does like trying out new treats. My sister just got a 3 month old french bulldog who also loves trying out different things.
Ohhhh I see some are from Farms in NC.
I’ll have to see if they have them for cats.

When I look for dog treats I usually like to look for as few ingredients as possible and Nala feels that the more the treat smells the better the treat so I usually look for something that has a strong smell as weird as it sounds. Her favorites happen to be tripe or any thing fish or any type of jerky treat.

I look for meat to be one of the main ingredients because dogs are carnivores, but they also need nutrients from fruits and vegetables!

And no artificial colors and flavors, ethoxyquin,BHT and BHA as well as other chemical preservatives- if these are listed on the ingredient labels I stay well away from them.

I always read all the ingredients, I look for all natural no preservatives. No colors. My dog Buddy breaks out from dyes. He was a rescue. And it was hard to find something that he would eat. A very picky poodle who is now family.
The very first thing I look at is where it is made. If that is acceptable, then I go through the list of ingredients and make sure they are all natural.
