Like humans, pets can experience winter woes. Even for dogs that live in warmer regions. Seasonal changes can affect dogs that love outdoor play or activities. Also, during winter months, many dogs are cooped up indoors and often experience weight gain due to lack of exercise. Fortunately, there are a few simple things you can do for your dogs’ winter woes.
Petmate provided Sugar ChuckIt, JW toys, and a Pillow Bed as part of their campaign to help dogs to have a healthier and happier winter. Golden Woofs only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers.
4 Ways To Help Your Dog Beat the Winter Woes
1. Indoor Warmth – Ensure your dog’s bed is warm and well placed (away from cold drafts). Big and small dogs will enjoy the added warmth from Petmate Aspen Pet Shearling Knife Edge Pillow Bed.
It’s the month of love and sharing. Sugar gave her new pal Grover the Petmate Aspen Pet Shearling Knife Edge Pillow Bed. It’s soft and cozy, Grover loves it! It is soft and the supple blue micro-suede with plush shearling trim pawfectly complimented Grover’s home decor.
2. Indoor Fun and Games – Frigid temperature means less time outdoors for active play. To keep your dog active, plan for some indoor play. ChuckIt offers an Indoor Ball and Indoor Flyer, dog toys pawfect for indoor fetch or hide & seek games.
Oh! Grover loves to play fetch, and he is a ball fanatic. It was fun watching him play with the ChuckIt Indoor Ball, made from textured chenille fabric. The soft construction is safe for indoor play and Features Bounceflex Core technology for a lightweight design.
3. Safety Light – When walking your dog at night, get noticed by cars or other traffic. With Petmate Maxglow® Glow in the Dark Collars and Leashes, you will have increased visibility and be safe walking your dog.
4. Keep Stress Levels Down – Petmate’s JW Megalast Glow dog toys are pawsome to keep your dog occupied especially when you have guests. These Glow toys are made from super-tough glow Megalastomer, which is 100% recyclable.
JW Pet Megalast Glow Bear Dog Toy is a pawsome toy to play hide & seek at night because it glows.
It is good thing that Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow. Spring is coming soon and say good-bye to your dogs’ winter woes.

Oh, thank goodness we do not have to worry about Winter woes here in South Florida. However, we will be having Summer Sadness soon as it will be too hot to go out during most of the day. That bed looks super soft and plush. So glad you shared with your new friend Grover. He is adorable.
We try to get outside whenever we can. Training and indoor games and lots of extra love and snuggles when we cant.
those all look like great ideas to cope with the winter
Our favorite games to play indoors when it is bitter cold outside. We run up and down the stairs, I stuff another toy plush dog that they ripped out the stuffing and fill it with toys and hide a few treats inside. It keeps them very busy. I love to buy the PetSmart dogs at Christmas time because they make the best stuffing dog.
Hope everyone reads this important information

Most of my dogs are seniors and like being curled up inside, away from the cold. I haven’t figured out any other way to beat the winter blues! 😉
We use the hallway to play fetch and Mabel and Hazel play with each other. Bailey really struggles with winter. He sometimes gets depressed. He does not play with toys or fetch. He really misses being able to ramble around outside. By the time winter is over he is so ready for spring
hugs
Mr Bailey, Hazel & Mabel
We haven’t had much winter weather but when it is cold, we can still play outdoors or if the weather is nasty, we play laser light and chase indoors.
We get our furbabies outside as much as possible during the winter. We just dress them up in sweaters and winter coats to keep them warm. If it’s icy there’s not much we can do to go outside; it hurts their paws too much and I haven’t found a pair of winter ‘shoes’ that will stay on their paws. Other than that we try and play with them and keep lights on during the day to overcome the winter woes.
We make sure to get out for a run every day. Well, except for the days it was -20 windchill!! We get sunshine and fresh air and it makes us both feel good. Then come home and cuddle in the blanket and sit by the heater!!
Lots of training, playing, and puzzle toys.
We play in the snow and there are indoor games. I have doggy puzzles and we also go on play dates.
We’ve been working on training and practicing for receiving the Canine Good Citizen Certificates 🙂
WE play tug-a-war w/a ball and a goughnut, run around w/a ball, toss a handball to him, need to walk him more. I’ve heard about the chuck-it’s and would really like to get him one, just haven’t yet. Need to get him some doggy puzzles, etc.

we play indoor games and play on the large enclosed deck. i throw treats and hide them around the house to get them to play. also to see who is the fastest of the 2 younger girls.. sometimes one will go and get as many as they can fit in their mouth and not be able to eat them b/c their mouth is so stuffed. with the older girl i put the treats in front of her, getting her to walk a little to find them. i ususally have to show her where they are with my feet since she is almost blind and deaf as well has a little dementia

Wags
Oreo
I take him out hiking and playing in the snow, he loves the snow!
We try to encourage our dogs to play more indoors to help relieve cabin fever in the winter. For my younger dog, that means we play on the stairs so he runs up and down chasing after a toy. He’s really steady on the stairs or we wouldn’t do this. But for my senior dog, we get out some stuffed dog toys for him or give him the cardboard tube from the tp or paper towel to play keep away with. He can hold a “tube toy” as we call them in his mouth for a good 20 minutes and it never crushes or gets soggy.
We play a lot of ball in the house, I take her shopping with me and put her in the doggie stroller and we go to the doggie stores a lot so she gets out of the house. If it isn’t that cold or snowy outside we go for walks too. Plus we play in the snow.
My dog would love the ball
We play food puzzles & box games!
We still play alot, just inside!
I help my pets by warming up their food just alittle so they won’t get a chill plus snuggling up with them in a blanket. =)
I try to take them out as much as possible. I also take them to doggie daycare so they can interect with other dogs!
Living in the desert, our winters are pretty mild, so we still do alot of outdoor activities. On days we can’t go out, we play ball in the hall, and lots of mental games.
Me and my pooch cuddle up together on the couch with the a fire! That’s what we do to stay warm in the winter.
We use our hallway and play fetch.
Happy to say Sugar – our winters are not that cold so we are what you would call “winter woeLESS” LOL But the toys look cool for any weather.
We live on a small farm and she loves to run and help to get rid of the blues
We try to play with toys and try to learn new tricks. It’s always fun to play hide and seek with toys and treats too! 🙂 Chuckit toys are awesome! One time we took a Chuckit frisbee to a dog park and every dog wanted to play with it! <3
We play every day with our balls and favorite little pink bear we call bb. I have a chihuahua so winter’s in New Hampshire are long and cold. But with her sweater on we run all around the house. She love’s her Kong filled with peanut butter also.
I help my dogs with overcome winter woes with lots of love, hugs, play and treats.
They get lots of snuggles and warm sweaters.
I play with my dog and we like to cuddle up during the winter. She loves that.

When weather permits, we go for walks, we play outside, we play inside. They are happy bullies.
My dog LIKES to go out in the snow!
We bring them outside on any day the sun is shining. Thank you
we have a heated bed he loves
My dog has gotten so lazy over the winter. I would hope that a new ball toy would help get him motivated.
I live in the Phoenix area, so my dog and I are able to go outdoors everyday. When we’re indoor my dog loves to run around the house chasing me.
we let them out frequently for short periods so they still get their outdoors time but they don’t get to cold. one of my dogs likes the cold and snow.
