Does your dog eat too fast? If yes, your dog can benefit from a slow feeder dog bowl. Sugar loves to eat and is a gulper. I often use a puzzle slow feeder dog bowl, great for kibbles. However, it is beneficial for Sugar’s age to have her kibble moisten or mixed with soft dog food. In this case, a slow feeder dog bowl works best. For the past weeks, Sugar’s meals were served on 4 Paws Pottery’s ceramic slow feeder dog bowl.

Slow Feeder Dog Bowl
Did you know? When your dog eats too fast, it can lead to choking and bloating. Larger dogs, like Sugar, are more susceptible to bloat.
A slow feeder dog bowl creates “separations or obstructions” which forces your dog to work around eating his/her meal. Slowing down your dog’s eating also eliminates gas and improves his/her digestion.
A slow feeder bowl can’t guarantee to prevent canine bloat, but can modify the eating behavior that often leads to it.
Why Use A Ceramic Dog Bowl?
If your dog tends to push the dog bowl during meal time, a ceramic bowl is a great option to use. A ceramic dog bowl is heavier and eliminates movement plus spillage too. It’s durable and come in various stylish designs.
When choosing a ceramic dog bowl, make sure it is certified for food usage and coated with a lead-free glaze. Also, ensure the ceramic dog bowl you choose is large enough for your dog to access his/her food. For your dog’s safety, take extra precaution and always check for cracks and chips.

Can your dog benefit from a slow feeder ceramic dog bowl?
that’s a very good bowl, ours is sadly made from plastic and after a while this plastic bowls look super ugly… think ceramik is much much better…
I’m so glad you shared this article, as my new baby, Zue Zue, is a gulper. I recently purchases one of those stainless steel balls to put into her bowl to help slow her down and it has worked. However, I did consider purchasing a bowl like this instead.
I’m open to all options. I don’t want her getting bloat, although she has slowed down more than when she previously came to live with us.
I’d love to try out this bowl! Thanks for the oppotunity!

Schooner is a very fast eater. He would benefit from having a slow feeder bowl. Ceramic bowl would be great that way he can’t bring me the empty bowl begging for more.
My little rescued chihuahua could definitely benefit from a bowl like this. She eats so fast it’s like a little vacuum sucking up kibble. I worry she’ll choke; bloat and stomach woes are also a big concern.
we have been looking for a bowl to slow our girl Belle down 🙂
My Kyoko had almost been starved before being dumped at the kill shelter I adopted her from. After she got transported to me, I worked on getting her weight to where it should have been. We did that, but she still acts like she thinks she’s starving – even though she’s downright chubby now. One of the problems is that she eats her food too quickly. She practically inhales it and I’ve been working on getting her to slow down. This bowl would really help.
Sugar what a great bowl. Mom says she could have used a bowl like that when my human sissy was a wee girl. Sissy did not like her food touching. Isn’t that just crazy
Hugs
Madi your bffff
What a pretty bowl and mom loves that it’s ceramic!
Mom tried to trick me with this bowl. I went on a hunger strike
Edward (& Lily)
Absolutely! This would be great for either Penny or Tut!
Yes, especially Wager. He gobbles down food very fast! He has puzzle feeders for dry food, but he’s on a canned food now and this would work great!
Mom said we are not gulpers unless it is Stanley eating a treat. Then he is a gulper BOL!
Keep Calm & Bark On!

I have 3 Boston’s, and one of them could definitely use this.
My dogs eat very quickly. This is by far the most attractive bowl I’ve seen to help stop bloat.
All of our dogs are inhalers, so slow feeder bowls are important to us. Ceramic slow feeder bowls are very hard to find! We won’t use plastic which is usually what we see. We have a couple now, but they have chips in them, so we’d love to have a new one, and these look very nice.
My dog, Logan, would benefit from a slow feeder ceramic dog bowl. He eats very fast so I have to keep taking his food dish away and give him breaks or he will throw up 🙁
Yes, my dog would benefit from a slow feeder ceramic dog bowl. As would I!
We could use a slow feeder for our dog. He eats WAY to quickly
I think our dog could benefit because he is a little overweight and he might eat less
this would be great! sometimes she gets a little too excited about her kibbles and gobbles them too quickly!
We could use a slow feeder for our dog. He eats really fast.

i think Blackie would be better using a slow feeder dog bowl. He inhales his food every morning. Thanks for sharing.
This would be great for my husky honey! She has a metal slow eater bowl, but this one is so much nicer.
One of my dogs has actually just started eating too fast, so yes; I could benefit trying this bowl. Thanks!
my middle child has a slow feeder bowl now but it is old, one of the first to come out, it is plastic but i prefer ceramic. easier to clean. she wolfs down her food, she is always the first to finish and she is the last to get feed.
Patsy gobbles her food down so fast we have to feed her in stages. This would be great to help control that !!
Yes, two of my Pomeranian’s like to chow there food, I like that this bowl is ceramic over plastic.
Our dog Barry eats too fast and then starts choking. Slowing down his inhalation of food is something we are working on!
Nala is eats a bit too fast so a slow feeder might be a good choice for her. Cody does not eat too fast but that is because he is new to having a variety of foods and he eats his dinner faster and faster each day so one day he might need one.
My dogs are both picky eaters and dont really scarf down their food fast but if I won this i would give it to my friend for one of her dogs because she inhales her food!
My dog eats so fast I barely turn around after placing the bowl on the floor before its gone. I think he would really benefit from having something like this
What a cute bowl! I’ve been looking for a slow feeder that would work better with wet food.
My Owen is a gulper, and I’ve been using a plastic slow feeder for his dry food. It is perfect for dry kibble, but anything wet gets stuck down in the maze.
I’m definitely interested in trying this ceramic bowl!
Yes my dog could benefit from this bowl on some days. Some days she eats really fast and then other days she is a slow eater.
My dog could really benefit from a slow feeder bowl!
My brothers dog Bruiser could definitely benefit from this bowl! He’s such a fast eater, just woofs everything down. Thanks so much for the chance!
Artie inhales his food, We call him the Hoover. I bought a raised feeder, but it has failed to slow him down.
My dog drinks and eats so fast!
I have a Bouvier, very prone to bloat, and have been looking into getting him a slow feeder. These look beautiful, and very durable!
Yes, our dogs have been getting a little chunky.. I think this would help.
Definitely! Our girl Sophie is a gulper (and kind of a messy pig).
Dying to have this for Dakota!!
i think this would be good for my dog. she needs to slow down.
My dog literally inhales his food…I worry constantly. This would be beneficial to try.
I have big dogs, so yes.
I think my dog could definitely benefit from a slow feeder bowl. He is a big 80 pound baby and literally the bowl moves all over the kitchen floor. This would be awesome!
Yes, he can, he eats too fast.
My dog doesn’t need this actually….but a friend’s dog sure does!
Wilson doesn’t need a slow feeder bowl. However, I like to use ceramic bowls and he likes them better too.
She could she has a barrel chest so worry about bloat.
Our guys inhale their wet food so this would be perfect for them.
My boston is a gobbler
One of my dogs gulps her food. She would definitely benefit from a bowl that could slow her down.
