It that time of the year for melons. Cantaloupe is a type of melon. Did you know? California produces about 75 percent of all cantaloupes grown in the nation. There are several ways to enjoy a cantaloupe. One way is to make refreshing popsicles, great treats to have on a hot day.
Coconut Cantaloupe Popsicles
1/4 cup of fresh coconut water (or use plain water, never use coconut water sold in a can/bottle/box)
1 cup of cubed cantaloupes
fresh minced coconut meat (or use 100% dehydrated coconut or shredded coconut)
In a blender, combine the fresh coconut water and cubed cantaloupes. Pour the mixture into a popsicle mold. Then, add fresh minced coconut meat into each mold. Freeze for two hours.
One cup of cantaloupe delivers 100 percent of the daily recommended values of vitamins A and C. Cantaloupes also have potassium, essential for the normal function of the gastrointestinal tract. Due to the high content of sugar, treat your dog cantaloupe in moderation.
Coconut Cantaloupe Popsicles, a refreshing treat you can share with your dog.
