For the past five years, pet shelters nationwide have been able to transform more than 70,000 animals. Thanks to Wahl Pet Products which teamed up with GreaterGood.org. Wahl offers a line of pet grooming solutions that make grooming from home safe, easy and enjoyable. Every year, Wahl is dedicated to helping shelter animals and providing them a fresh start by donating pet grooming products to support their adoption process. The goal is to transform more than 20,000 dogs this year and get them ready for adoption.
“Due to lack of resources, less than half of dogs entering shelters are getting the grooming they desperately need. First impressions are crucial, and without proper grooming, many of these dogs are perceived to be ‘damaged goods.’ By providing shelters with much-needed grooming supplies, we can transform these dogs into the healthy, fun-loving pets they really are.”
Shay Moeller, Wahl – Pet Product Manager
Every shelter pet deserves a fresh start.

Best Shelter Dog Makeover
5th Dirty Dogs Contest: July 19 – August 1, 2016
This year, 10 of the most dramatic transformations from the gallery have been selected to participate in the contest. You can partake and help determine the top 3 dogs. The animal shelters or rescue groups affiliated with these transformations will receive monetary grants to further support their efforts. First place takes home $5,000; second place receives $2,000 and third place earns $1,000.
“The Dirty Dogs Contest is a fun way to celebrate shelter dog transformations, but more importantly, it’s about raising awareness. Behind every dirty and scared shelter dog is a beautiful and loving animal. We hope to inspire people to volunteer their time grooming and bathing animals at their local shelter, or to donate much-needed money and supplies.”

What a great idea for an even greater cause! ♥
i think it is great but i really dont like the make overs, they shave the dogs down to nothing. making them look nothing like their similar breeds. i wish they would take more time to make them look like their breeds however, i do understand that many of them have not been groomed in ages and need to be shaves to get all of the matts and knots out.
