Do you incorporate ear cleaning into your dog grooming routine? Cleaning your dog’s ears is easy to do at home. There are various types of ear cleaner solutions; it is important that you only use a good quality dog ear cleaner. RELIQ Pet, known for their mineral spa dog shampoo, offers an advanced dog ear cleaning solution.
This post is sponsored by RELIQ. I am being compensated to share my experiences with RELIQ Pet products, but we only share information we feel is relevant to our readers.
As a golden retriever, SUGAR suffered many painful ear infections that resulted to her deafness. Her ear infections often occur due to environmental allergies. As a proactive dog mom, I routinely clean SUGAR’s ear with a high-quality dog ear cleaning solution. Also, I recently learned that environmental allergies are progressive and will worsen as a dog gets older. I continue to educate myself to help prevent SUGAR’s ear health problems. I am always on the lookout for dog ear care products and ear cleaners.
For the past two weeks, I’ve been using RELIQ Pet Advanced Ear Solution for dogs (and cats too). Just like RELIQ’s dog shampoo, RELIQ Pet Advanced Ear Solution is scientifically tested and proven effective using cutting edge nano-technology.
What is in RELIQ’s Advanced Ear Solution?
Purified water is the first ingredient with volcanic minerals and includes these three natural herbal
1. Rosemary essential oil is used as natural antiseptic agents.
2. Witch hazel extract is used for pain and swelling relief.
3. Calendula silvestre extract, a common name is Marigold, is used as a bug repelling ingredient.
RELIQ Pet ear cleaner is a natural solution with non-irritating formula plus fragrance-free and alcohol-free. Pawfect for dogs (and cats) with sensitive ears.
RELIQ’s Advanced Ear Solution is easy to use. I recently used it on SUGAR during our weekend trip. Every time we travel, SUGAR always gets an irritated ear. Surprisingly, SUGAR did not shake much after applying RELIQ’s Advanced Ear Solution. It got rid of waxy build-up and an unpleasant ear odor. SUGAR had clean ears throughout our trip.
RELIQ claims that this dog ear cleaning solution “can naturally eliminate microbes causing odors and infections without the use of additional antibiotics or drugs.” RELIQ Pet Advanced Ear Solution has been tested by a leading global inspection, verification, testing, and certification lab. The test result confirms a 99.99% reduction of four major microbes (Staphylococcus, E Coli, Pseudomonas, Candida Albicans) causing ear infection, digestive tract diseases, skin infection, fungal, and yeast problems. RELIQ is proud to be the only pet product that can support these claims. Wow, this is great news. From past experience, prescription meds can be expensive and only provide temporary relief.
On our next RELIQ post, I’ll be sharing more information and SUGAR’s ear cleaning progress using the Advanced Ear Solution. SUGAR and I invite you to visit reliqpet.com. Learn more about RELIQ Advanced Ear Solution and nano science behind RELIQ pet products. Use code RELIQ4GOLDENWOOFS for 30%off.

thanks for a great post, maybe that is the solution for cleaning my ears much better now? we will look if we can find a store who can send it to me :o)
Wow! The ingredients in this product look great! We struggle to keep B’s ears clean and he tends to shake a lot – vet says they’re normal, thankfully!
We try to clean his ears every 2 weeks, at least. He’s very low maintenance but we find that doing it too often is pretty stressful for him. We make sure to give him lots of treats and love after!
I’ve never had a problem with my dog’s ears. They’d get cleaned at the groomer’s, and I’d look and clean them myself if they seemed a little dirty, but there’s rarely ever anything to clean (I have prick-eared dogs). Suddenly, this year both of them have had problems. Shiloh’s have been horrible- he shakes his head all the time, and scratches them a lot. Thing is, they look absolutely spotless inside. Vet can’t find anything. But we’re treating anyway, and I have been cleaning them daily. It’s almost certainly allergy related (also something he’s never had problems with before, but this year has been bad!). My tip would be to get your dog used to being handled, ears being touched, and cleaned at least with cotton balls. Even if they don’t need it now, it’s good to have him comfortable with everything should it be needed down the road!
Bailey has occasional ear problems and we clean his ears every time we trim his nails with a solution the vet gave us. getting them used to being handled is a big help

Oh SUGAR, Golden Sadie can relate. Environmental allergy is a bit hard. We can not find the best ear cleaner that works all the time. You are right about the vet’s medication – it’s expensive and it takes a long time to heal. Looking forward on your next post and curious about the result. Woofs from Sadie.
I clean my dog’s ears regularly. If I catch them when they first get infected, Zyvox drops have been effective in getting rid of infections without antibiotics.
I try to clean my boys ears every week. I clean them with a Qtip and ear cleanser. If they are having ear problems, take them in to see a vet. I had a dog that got ear infections all the time.
I clean my dog’s ears once a week. She only had one ear infection when she was a puppy. Otherwise they have been fine. I keep ear meds on hand at home just in case she ever got another infection. If they seem to be itchy (because she has a lot of allergy problems) then I put the meds in her ears to help her. If I thought she was having problems I would definitely take her straight to the vet!
i try to clean them every few wks, depends on where they go, if outside more, clean more often. i roll a tissue and stick it in their ears after putting in the solution. sometimes i will use the big tip cotton tips. the ones that i use are big on the end and cant go deep in the ears. i also watch to see if they are scratching or messing with their ears.
This sounds like a superb product. I will definitely have to look into getting this for my own pooches.
I have three rescued Treeing Walker Coonhounds, and if you know hounds, you know they have long, floppy ears and because of that, tend to get ear issues. So, I have to keep my eyes open when it comes to their ears. I check their ears as often as daily and use my judgement as to when they need to be cleaned. Each dog has a different rate of ear wax build-up, too. I lost my deaf hound girl, Ran, last year (she was just five but had developed an autoimmune disorder) and it was funny – while she was deaf, she also had the cleanest ears of my dogs and I would almost never get anything out when I cleaned them). My senior Coonhound, Suki, who passed at age 15 in April of this year had the worst issues with her ears. The three I have now, though, do get dirty ears but I tend to clean them every 1-2 weeks, as needed.
Out of all my dogs, only the Boston Terrier rescue has ear issues. He is the oldest at 14 and maybe that makes him more susceptible to health problems or maybe it’s his breed. I clean his ears often. The RELIQ advanced ear cleaning solution looks like one that would work very well for us.
We cleans our dogs ears once a month and we just use Hartz Ear Cleaner solution and cotton balls.
