World Smile Day is celebrated every year on the 1st Friday of October. Harvey Ball initiated the idea of World Smile Day 1963. In 1999, the 1st World Smile Day was held. When Mr. Ball passed away, Harvey Ball World Smile Foundation was created. The Smile Foundation became the annual sponsor for World Smile Day with the slogan “improving the world, one smile at a time.”
