Fourth of July celebrations are fun for you and your family, but all the excitement can be stressful and dangerous for your pets. Here are 4 Pet Friendly Fourth of July Safety Tips to keep your pets safe.

1. Keep your pets secure indoors at all times. Many pets are fearful of noise and fireworks. During the fourth of July celebration, many pets panic and flee, winding up lost. Did you know, July 5th is the busiest day of the year for U.S. animal shelters. Follow these tips to help your pet cope with fourth of July anxiety.
2. Be safe on the road. If you plan to travel with your pets during the Fourth of July weekend, protect your pets in the vehicle with either a crate or travel harness. Sugar uses Sleepypod Clickit Sport dog harness. Clickit Sport is the only harness to earn safety certification and a five-star rating from the Center for Pet Safety. Sleepypod also offers carriers pawfect for transporting cats and small dogs.
Consider traveling during safe hours. Make sure your pets are wearing collars with current identification tags. It is very helpful if your pets are microchipped. If you are in need of a veterinarian, the American Animal Hospital Association offers a ‘pet-vet trip planner locator.’
3. Barbecues and cookouts can be fun for you but pose a potential danger to your pets.
4. Keep an eye on your furry friend all day long.
Have a FUN and Safe Pet Friendly Fourth of July celebration!
