From Sugar’s mom Rosalyn
We would like to THANK everyone for your Good Thoughts and Prayers.
Sugar did well in her surgery. Her surgeon removed a big mass on her tongue. The mass was located deep in the back of her tongue. We are unsure of how long the mass resided on Sugar’s tongue especially during her annual exam when nothing showed-up. The surgery did not take that long, ~30 minutes, but Sugar had to stay at the vet most of the day. When Sugar left the vet, she wagged her tail to all the staff that took care of her.
Sugar had an appetite to eat when she got home. Sugar has to remain on a soft food diet for a while. We continue to moisten her food with warm ginger water and she loves it.
Of course, after her meal she stood by the banana counter. It’s been a week since she was not allowed to eat a banana in her Kong. I’ve been making Sugar blended creamy banana (like ice cream). She LOVES it and will be sharing the recipe/process on our Tasty Tuesday post.
Sugar’s tongue will be sore for a week or so. She was asked to do lots of resting/napping …
We have wait for a week for some test results and will plan for a treatment.
We are also on alert for another mass.
Very Grateful for all of you…..We are graciously humbled by all the kind words of support and loving thoughts during these difficult events. For now, we are very happy Sugar is home and her surgery went well. Sugar surely sensed all your powerful good wishes and continues to show us to think positive and stay strong.
