When I was a young Golden Pup, my mom took me for a holiday photo with Santa.
It did not do well … not sure if it was the white beard.
Since then no photos with Santa … might change this year.

Mischief Holiday Photo Shoot
It’s my Golden Beach Day but it was delayed by an idea of my mom for a
Sugar’s Holiday Photo Shoot.
Mom already broke Rule #1 of the 5 Helpful Tips of Taking Holiday Pet Photos
we shared last 11/10/2010.
Rule #1 states planning is a key to a successful holiday photo.
Select a simple theme. A well fed and relax dog is the best time.
Well, this photo shoot was a spontaneous idea of my mom. The theme is of course Beach. Yes, I was well fed but could always have more treats. Relax, no way its my beach day.
Rule#2 indicates to select appropriate accessories.
Not all dogs want to be accessorized and dressed-up.
Be sensitive to the comfort level of your dog.
It so happen that I have an extra lei in the car. Also in the car was a Santa scarf that mom has been using to warm her hands on our morning walks.
Another accessory that is used in the photo shoot was a boogie board
which I am not a big fan, as I like to use my own body to catch the waves.
Rules #3 & 4 says the Keep the photo background as simple as possible.
Natural lighting is the best. Thus, taking holiday pet photo outdoors is great.
Well mom’s selected location/ background was the Beach.
BTW not my favorite beach. It is my mom’s favorite so it means I can’t swim here.
The location was not simple for me as I want to swim.
Lastly, Rule#5 states to be experimental. Enjoy and most importantly have FUN.
Relish this time you spend with your dog. You’ll forever treasure the end-product.
This Holiday Beach Photo Shoot was definitely “experimental.”
Yes, I had FUN being silly but I was good too. I know mom took great photos of me.
Definitely, this 2012 Maui Holiday Photo Shoot will be treasured forever.
Photos selected from this photo shoot will be used in our email 2012 Holiday e-card.
