Happy Dog at the VET and Humane Society


I went to the VET and I was a Happy Golden Dog.
I was not scared or worried about my scheduled visit even though it was a new facility.

I was greeted by a very friendly staff.
The waiting room was very spacious and I immediately sat on one of the benches.
The staffs laughed and gave me many compliments.
We did not have to wait long to register as we were already in the system.
Central Maui Animal Clinic provided us assistance during my transport here last March.

First, I got weighed … Woof! Woof! I weighed 51 pounds.
The weekly swimming and daily miles of walking surely paid off.
The tech vet commented on how I’m in such great shape for an 11 yr old.


Then, I was taken to the back office for a blood test needed for Heartworm.
Afterwards, I was taken in an exam room where I met my mom.
I sat patiently as we waited for the Doctor.
We noticed that the exam room was decorated with a cat theme.


All in all, I got lots of praises from the Doctor, particularly on how well I am taken care of in comparison to the other dogs that live on the island. I am Golden Happy and Grateful for the care my family provides me but at the same time sad for the other dogs that need proper care.

After my vet visit, I went to the Maui Humane Society.
Golden Happy to provide them the $funds we’ve collected to help run the facility.
I’ve also donated my extra crate and bed (mom made for me).

During our visit, there were many volunteers
working, walking dogs and cleaning/beautifying the grounds.
Inside the facility, there’s a tortoise name Freddie.
He has been with the Maui Humane Society since 2003 and he is not adoptable.
Actually, the Society discourage adopting exotic animals.
Golden Happy to see a glimpse of Freddie.

We also picked up the 2013 Calendar, where I took 8th place on the People’s Choice.
Many Golden Thanks again to everyone that supported me and donated.


If you are pet lover and plan to visit the Island of Maui, HI,
I suggest to stop by Maui Humane Society.
Maui Humane Society does not put a time limit for keeping animals in their facility .
All of the animals rescued by the society stay at the shelter for as long as possible.
Many pets wait for months for their forever homes.
You don’t need to live in Maui to adopt a pet from Maui Humane Society.
The Maui Humane Society transports pets off the island, out of state and internationally.

During our visit, there were many dogs are in need of forever home.
We wish for them to get adopted soon.

What do you think?
We opt for a smaller size, 8×11.
It looks darker than the original photo but my mom is happy on how my photo was printed on the canvas. Signazon only provided us the canvas print, we purchased to have it done on a gallery wrap. My mom plans to display it in our home.

VOTE! My 2013 Entry for MHS Calendar


For sure, many of you remembered when I participated in the Maui Humane Society 2012 Calendar. I was one of the top 10 runner’s up for the people’s choice.

Also, many of you have commented on my beach photos that I am a “Golden Calendar Babe”
Well, Lots of Golden Thanks.

It was not hard to decide what calendar event I should be participating, the Maui Humane Society. Maui Humane Society is a no kill shelter. It has no time limit for keeping animals. All of the animals rescued by them stay at the shelter for as long as possible. Many pets wait for months for their forever homes. You don’t need to live in Maui to adopt a pet from Maui Humane Society. The Maui Humane Society transports pets off the island, out of state and internationally.

Here’s the photo I entered.

It was shot at Kaanapali Beach with the view of the Black Rock and the Island of Lanai.

It was not easy taking the photo I submitted. My Golden Beach day was  interrupted.
Mom placed a lei on my neck and asked me to stand, stay n smile while the waves splashed.


The sun was in my eye too … I was squinting a lot.

“Woof! Woof! Okay I think you got a good shot, time to throw the stick”

Mom set her camera for multiple clicks and end up having 48 shots.
Afterwards, she had Lots of Golden Giggles looking at the photos.

I did not win but I was in the top 10 (8/10) which was enough to be in the calendar.
I’m the only Mainland dog that made the top 10. The rest are from the Island.
All of the top 10 People’s Choice finalist got featured on a page.

For a Good Cause ✿ VOTE for ME ✿


I had a Aloha Hawaiian themed photo shoot last May.
What’s the reason for this photo shoot.
My mom submitted my photo to be part of 
Maui Humane Society’s 2012 calendar.

The Maui Humane Society facility is located on a beautiful tropical grounds in Maui, Hawaii. According to my mom when she visited the place it was busy. As you enter, a happy bulletin board is posted of all the animals that found their forever homes. She saw lots of dogs in the kennel that are in need of a new home. Maui Humane Society has no time limit for keeping animals. All of the animals rescued by them stay at the shelter for as long as possible. Many pets wait for months for their forever homes. The Society spends an average of $255 on every animal in its care. You don’t need to live in Maui to adopt a pet from Maui Humane Society. The Maui Humane Society transports pets off the island, out of state and internationally.
