Against The Wild 2: Survive the Serengeti

Yoshi, an Alaskan Malamute, is the canine star of Against The Wild 2: Survive the Serengeti.
In the movie Yoshi plays Chinook, who guided siblings Ryan and Emma from surviving the African bush. To prepare for this movie, Yoshi worked with a dog trainer for ten, months. Since Yoshi lives in South Africa, he quickly adapted and learned to be a pawsome canine star.

Ryan played by John Paul Ruttan of Shelby: A Magical Holiday Tail and Emma played by Ella Ballentine of Standoff was planning a fun weekend visit with their dad in Africa. Unfortunately, their small plane had a crash-lands in the Serengeti. Jeri Ryan from Star Trek Voyager played their mom, who is seriously worried about their survival in the African wilderness.

Did Ryan and Emma survive the African wilderness? Having Chinook, both Ryan and Emma learned how to conquer their fears, sibling bond and trust. Watch Against The Wild 2: Survive the Serengeti! Shelby: A Magical Holiday Tail is a Christmas family movie, and an approved movie for all ages by Dove.org. The main star of the movie is a beagle dog named Shelby.

“It Takes a Special Kind of Dog To Teach a Family Some New Tricks.”

Shelby : A Magical Holiday Tail

Shelby is locked up in the dog pound. When a spoiled kid and his mom wanted to adopt Shelby for all wrong reasons, he runs away. Shelby hides in the suburban basement of 10-year old aspiring magician Jake. While the local dog catcher is on a hot trail to find Shelby, Jake with his grandpa pull off an ultimate magic trick to rescue Shelby.

Shelby : A Magical Holiday Tail is a fun family movie and delivers two important messages – 1) rescue a pound dog and 2) special friendship formed between humans and a furry friend. The movie is funny (sometimes a bit corny), expected from Chevy Chase as Grandpa, Tom Arnold as the dogcatcher and Rob Schneider as the voice of Shelby.

Shelby : A Magical Holiday Tail is available on DVD from Anchor Bay Entertainment and a pawsome “Holiday Stocking Stuffers.”

Golden Woofs was provided a DVD of Shelby : A Magical Holiday Tail for a review and three DVDs to giveaway. Follow the giveaway tool to win a DVD.

Do you have a favorite Holiday “dog” movie?

Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the Peanuts Gang are on the big screen in an amazing state of the art 3D animation movie. The Peanuts Movie marks the 65th anniversary of the debut of the Peanuts Comic Strip and the 50th anniversary of A Charlie Brown Christmas television special.

Last Sunday, I had an opportunity to watch an early screening of The Peanuts Movie. Of course, Flat Sugar joined me on the screening.

I enjoyed The Peanuts Movie and had to wear a 3D glasses to see the awesome 3D animation. The movie made me smile too. Don;t want to share too much about the movie. I just wanted to share the important message of the film that everyone (adults and kids) can relate to.

The Peanuts Movie’s messages are simple – staying true to yourself, have persistence and never giving up. Be like the “underdog” Charlie Brown! – not afraid of failing and gets right back and try it again & again. Dream Big!

Cool Snoopy is the world’s most lovable beagle and not your regular dog.
Snoopy thinks he is human He enjoys imagining that he can fly his doghouse around like an airplane. Snoopy loves and supports Charlie Brown unconditionally. Snoopy and Charlie Brown are best buds no matter what …

Charlie Brown never let his “Good Grief” get in a way of his goals” Dream Big!

Did you know? The Gap Kids and BabyGap team up with The Peanuts for an exclusive apparel collection. So cute, for sure your kids will love wearing a Gap Peanuts Collection.

“In collaborating with Peanuts, we wanted to celebrate their heritage by incorporating vintage artwork and an exclusive collection of hand sketched drawings for baby,” said Phu Ngo, vice president of merchandising at Gap. “By going back to the origins of the story, we truly find the special timelessness of the brand and re-introduce it to a new generation.”

In honor of The Peanuts Movie and Gap Peanuts Collection, Pawsitively Pets and us (Golden Woofs) teamed up for a $50 Gap gift card. Follow the rafflecopter to join.

Did you rescue a dog? For sure you’ve asked yourself the question, “Who rescued who?”
This question was the inspiration of a powerful short film “Le Sauvetage” (The Rescue).
“Le Sauvetage” opened the Sonoma International Film Festival held this week.

I had the privilege to watch “Le Sauvetage” at the Global Pet Expo last month. I also had an opportunity to meet the stars of the show, Olate Dogs. Olate Dogs are 2012 winners of America’s Got Talent show. Many of the Olate Dogs are rescue dogs.  At a young age Richard Olate developed his act on the streets of Chile. He rescued stray dogs and trained them to partake in his amateur show.  For years, Richard worked hard and his dream of becoming a professional dog act came to a reality. Today, Richard and his son, Nicolas, and wife, Rebecca, continue to save dogs from shelters and train them to become part of their professional ensemble.

“Le Sauvetage” (The Rescue) is a six-minute film produced by Peter McEvilley, award winning filmmaker and composer. The film is sponsored and produced by Halo, Purely for Pets, Ellen DeGeneres’ natural pet food company.
The film is in French and the setting takes place in a Parisian street where a pair of stray dogs worked together to unite two lonely souls.

“Le Sauvetage” (The Rescue) has also been selected to appear at the Court Metrage, Festival de Cannes in France this May.
