Pot holders are a must in every kitchen.
Pot holders are used to hold hot kitchen cooking equipment.
We got several pot holders but most of them are just for decorations.
Just like this …
Mom made this using left over fabric. A dog and cat was sewn on a plain cloth. Inside she used a heat resistant batting. (You may use a regular batting especially if it is a decorative pot holder.)
Here are the steps on how my mom made it …
Cut two 6×6 fabric for the back.

Optional!
create a backing for the dog/cat by sewing strip of fabrics on each 4 sides which what my mom did.
Also, cut 5×2 fabric for the holder. You have to fold both ends to the middle then fold it again.
You’ll have a 5×1/2 strip.
Make 2 strips.
FUN Part!
Lay front and back fabric with nice side together, place the holder in between and batting on top of the back fabric. Sew around the 3 layers but leave a 2” opening on one side.
Take the inner fabric and pull it out. Sew around the 3 layers and close the 2” opening.
