I was not kidding when I said I was pooped.
I was very pooped … I slept most of the day.
For Valentine’s Day, mom decided that I should have my own pillow (instead of using the couch pillows). She used a 24 x 16 pillow and scrap heart fabrics to make an
Envelope LOVE Pillow Case.
Mom says it is super easy to make . This method works for all sizes of pillow.
- Measure the pillow.
In our case it is 24 x 16. For the front side of the pillow add 1” on each side = 25 x 17.
For the back side, add 5 inches to the length = 29 x 16. - Lay the longest fabric = backside. Find the midpoint then cut it into 2 pieces.
Hem the end. Take note: fold towards the wrong side of the fabric.
- Lay the pretty side of the front side facing you. Match the raw edges of the back side fabrics.
You’ll see an overlay … the reason why it is called envelope pillow case. - Pin it and stitch around using 1/4 seam allowance.
- Wala! You got an envelope pillow case.
A great opportunity for me to sleep upstairs .. in the bedroom.
Typically, I am not allowed to be in the bedroom … so this a Golden Treat!
