FOCUS on the BEAUTY of the JOURNEY, not the destination.
620 curves and 59 bridges (46 are one-lane bridges) are the main highlights one will experience driving the Road to Hana.
Hana is a serene town located along Maui HI rugged eastern coastline.
Hana is regarded as one of the last unspoiled Hawaiian land.
The Road to Hana, snake-like highway, can be challenging to navigate. It is jokingly known as the “Divorce Highway.” WHY? for the relationship it can take on both the driver and the passenger who typically helps with the navigation.
Nevertheless, besides the surprising twist and turns
the beautiful scenery can also be distracting.
If you are a passenger, it is so worthwhile to roll down your window,
feel the rush of wind and view the beauty as it passes you.
There is so much beauty to experience and see.
There’s not enough words and/or photos to describe the journey on the Road to Hana.
The Road to Hana is considered (magazine/book publications) to be one of the
DRIVES of a Lifetime.
It is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places to visit.
If you plan to visit Maui, the BEAUTY of Road to Hana awaits you.
The Road to Hana made us think of LIFE.
Life with roads of hardships accompanied by joyful beautiful moments.

Hi Sugar, I am Sasha, I am following from my sweet pal Goose. This is a beautiful post. My Mommy has been to Maui a couple times and there is truly beauty all around there. I am so happy to be following this and thank you for having this. There is beauty all around and sometimes we need to stop and really look at it.

Oh dear Sugar be careful while driving on the “divorce highway” ;o) What a beautiful post – Thanks a lot and have a beautiful friday ;o)
It reminds me of Robert Frost’s poem, The Road Less Traveled, because it’s so special and unique and beautiful. What a wonderful experience to remember forever that this must have been.
Happy seeing beautiful!
Sugar you have done it again. Such beauty and your words at the end are beautifully inspiring.
Blessings,
Goose
That looks like an absolutely beautiful drive and with a beautiful dog (yes, you!) along for the ride!
Wow – that is absolutely beautiful, Sugar! Someday I do hope to get to Maui and if I do, I will be sure to put this Road to Hana on my itinerary.

That drive is very pretty and our mommy is glad she did it although she’ll probably never do it again. She gets car sick too easily. She’s a wuss. Thanks for sharing your trip with us though Sugar!
The picture of your head peeking out of the window is as beautiful as the pictures of the drive! Looks like you enjoyed the journey very much!!

How beautiful Sugar. I would love to take this ride too.
Have a woof woof day. My best to your mom. 🙂
Sugar, if mom ever makes it back to the Islands, she definitely wants to visit Maui and take this amazing drive. I hope her and dad don’t get divorced from all of mom’s side seat driving. Your photos are breath-taking though I am sure the natural beauty is far better than any photo.
Have a wonderful weekend, dear Sugar.

A beautiful place and a beautiful Golden Girl — it doesn’t get any better than that!

That sure is a beautiful place to drive! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Lovies, Miss Mindy
We drove that last year! Definitely the drive of a lifetime – and I think once in a lifetime is enough for me! I was the driver and some parts are soooo narrow. We had to bend our side view mirror in and so did the car we were passing in order to make it past one another. I can see why it earned it’s nickname, but it is indeed beautiful!
We nominate your blog for MOST BEAUTIFUL! Your pictures are always, always beautiful! Have a beautiful weekend!! Sorry we were a bit late putting ours up…mama didn’t have access to a computer and hasn’t quite worked out the kinds with the iphone/ipad operating system yet!!
xoxo Chloe and LadyBug
