It’s been a week since mom got back from BlogPaws 2013 Conference.
She is non-stop sharing information with me about the conference.
It was quite lengthy and it is best that mom shares and summarizes her BlogPaws experience.
So, here’s my mom …
It’s been years since I wanted to attend BlogPaws conference. I am delighted that it happened this year, BlogPaws 2013 hit a record high for attendance with over 500+people and ~80 dogs. A big thanks to the BlogPaws Team and Pet360 for making my 1st BlogPaws conference a memorable experience.
Attending the conference I was excited and at the same time a bit nervous. I am excited as I get to meet the actual people that blogs about their pet. Honestly, I don’t know most of the bloggers on a first name basis but I do know about their pet’s name (or blog name). I came to the conference without expectations but goals to network and learn more about blogging/social media. I’m delighted to have met many of my fellow dog blog bloggers and connected with new bloggers (mostly cats). I conversed with many people and attended great sessions.
My mind is overflowing with a lot of great useful information.
Also, it made me form additional questions of What? How? and Why?
Having no expectations in the beginning now I’ve created many (for myself).
I don’t have an intention to make a major blog change.
I am proud of what I’ve accomplished.
My post will continue to be inspired by Sugar with Lots of Golden LOVE.
You might notice a change on how I present a post particularly a review and/or sponsored posts. As always, my intent is to make it a fun and interesting post. One session I attended was about copyright. I plan to do a tutorial blog post as many have asked me questions on my blog photo watermark. I’ll be happy to share some ideas on how to make one.
Lastly, I like to share …
- Pet Bloggers are passionate. Although made up of predominantly women, I’m glad to have met one male blogger.
- I did not have to use my “elevator pitch”. There was a friendly atmosphere. A simple hello and my Golden Woofs shirt opened up a conversation.
- BlogPaws consists of Pet Bloggers and promotes a sense of community.
Thanks again to all I’ve met.
(too many and I’m afraid if I list your names I might forget someone and I don’t want to feel bad)
Golden LOVE, Sugar’s mom Rosalyn
Sounds like it was a great time… wish I could have been there! Maybe I’ll make a watermark image too some day… right now I just use text with my blog’s URL.
So glad you had a great experience. I went last year and was completely over whelmed with everything. I think I need to go to another conference so everything actually sinks in. The copyright class is one of the classes I wanted to learn more about. I look forward to reading about what you learned in that class!
We’ve read several accounts of bloggers who attended. Everyone was so excited about all the fun they had and what they learned.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
That must be such a wonderful adventure…. Wish I could visit this event sometimes. Have a great memorial monday.
Our Mommy is a wee bit jealous. She can’t wait to attend a BlogPaws conference! We hope you have a great Monday! XOXO
welcome home, sounds like you had a blast and learned a lot and met a lot of new people.
Mom had never heard of blog paws before she saw you and few others mention it…..she is seriously thinking about going to the next one.
Not having attended the actual conference, I felt like I did because I got to meet you and Jodi, and Flea! I don’t know what I would change if YOUR blog were mine–I think you and Sugar do an amazing job and you’re great examples for other bloggers like me to follow.
Enjoy your day!!
I look forward to your watermark tutorial! I’ve seen my photos used out on the web so I know a watermark is probably a good idea!
It sounds like a very nice experience. I’d love to attend some time if there is a location closer to Florida.
Your blog is an inspiration; I was surprised this was your first BlogPaws, I expected you to be leading some of the seminars! Maybe someday I’ll get to attend one.
I can’t imagine why anyone would want to use my photos, but I look forward to your tutorial. I had noticed a lot of other bloggers also protecting copyright and wondered about it.
We agree, there were such a nice bunch of people and critter there! It was very nice to meet you!!!
that balloon is really cool and so glad you loved blog paws

I am so very glad your mom had a wonderful time and met so many. My MOM and me too, am looking forward to gleaning from what she learned.
Blessings,
Goose
I look forward to all your BlogPaws inspired posts. I love hearing about conferences/vacations/tours. I’m so glad you had a wonderful time.
Rosalyn, I am SO looking forward to your watermark tutorial! I can’t imagine why anyone would want to use my photos of Callie, Shadow and Ducky — or any of my postings for that matter — but I’m beginning to think it’s a good idea to protect them anyway. I’m also thinking of a name change for the blog to somehow include Ducky, but haven’t had much luck coming up with one that I really like.
Glad you had such a wonderful time at BlogPaws! Give Sugar one of her favorite treats for me! Maybe one of these days we’ll get to meet in person.
Mom is still going on and on about all the things we need to do, makes a dog tired! We are switching to self hosted this week, mom is scared to death so I hope it goes well. We will post about that before we switch…thanks to your mom’s tip 🙂 We also are working on those disclaimer, no follow, etc things along with other stuff. No big changes for anyone to really see but plenty of work to get done.
My Mom said she was THRILLED to have FINALLY met your Mom Sugar! She LOVES HER! She wants to spend more time with her again!
Barks and licks and love, Dakota
Sounds like you had a barking good time! 🙂
Glad to hear you had such a positive experience. Maybe one year I’ll be able to go.
Looking forward to the watermark/copywrite tutorial!
I’m looking forward to hearing more of your adventures and what else you learned about.
I’m still trying to straighten out my head from the conference too! So much to take in, but all good and valuable information! I look forward to seeing your future posts!
Sounds like a great time!
Glad your first time there was a hit! Can wait to hear about more adventures and stuff you learned at blog paws. Have a great day.
Well everyone knows Sugar. Don’t they? Pretty much out here in blogland anyway.
I’m glad you had a great time.
Have a woof woof day Sugar. My best to your mom. 🙂
Your Golden Woofs shirt is WAY cool. Thanks for explaining it to me, as well as the meaning of my ring spiral!
I think that little inflated dog was my favorite pet from the weekend. 😉
Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
We agree all those who attended seemed to have a great time. Have a marvellous Memorial Day Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Glad you enjoyed your visit to Blog Paws! I’m hoping to attend next year since it’s in Vegas where my mom lives plus the Katnip Lounge will be hosting a catio party so we can meet all 13 cats! ~Sharla
I am slowly getting my feet back on the ground over here. So much to do and remember. I also can’t wait until 2014 because I think I will be more grounded. (or not, I’ve been saying that for years). I look forward to your copyright tutorial!
Hi Sugar
We are so glad your Mom had a good trip and you are very kind to share your blog with her.
Hugs your bFFF Madi
No wonder you enjoyed it surrounded by all those women lol, looking forward to the watermark tutorial.
It always seems that whoever gets the chance to go, they always seem to have just a FABulous time!
I love that balloon!!
Kisses,
Ruby
We look forward to everything you learned! We did not know dogs could go. Why didn’t Sugar go? She would have stolen the show for sure!
Your Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Hi Sugar, sounds like your mum had a great time. We’d love to learn about copyright/watermark stuffs. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
I’m hoping to go one day! I think your blog is perfect, just the way it is!
Sam
I can’t believe we didn’t meet each other until the day we were leaving! Womp. Womp. :o)
I hope we can grab some lunch when you come to Indy. Please keep me posted on your plans.
*HUGS*
Doreen
Sounds like you had a great time at BlogPaws. I really wish we could have gone. Maybe next year! 🙂
It is nice to have people to share a passion with. Sounds like fun.
I really hope one day to attend and I agree…don’t change your blog. Everyone seems to love it just the way it is – I do for sure! Hope to be able to meet you and everyone else one day 🙂
So glad to meet you at BlogPaws and we will be sure to come back and visit your boggie again and Teri said she looks forward to your tutorial, too!
Sounds like a fantastic conference. We have watermarked and watermarked. We “search” our names or our blog name and our pictures are ALL over the web, watermark and all. Frustrating
Benny & Lily
I’ve read about other bloggers who’ve attended BlogPaws and always thought it sounded like it would be a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing your experience!
I’m glad you enjoyed the experience. I almost went, and at the last minute talked myself out of it (too much to do at home, who would take care of the dog, the cost of gas, etc….) Now I wish I hadn’t! Maybe another time. I hope it returns to VA, which is much closer than Vegas for me!
I’m hoping to go for the first time next year. (Guess I need to get a Pooch Smooches shirt!)
Thanks for sharing with us what you learned! I look forward to the posts!
I’m glad you had a great time at your first BlogPaws Conference. Last year was my first time and it was a blast.
Maybe I’ll meet you next year so you can double the number of male bloggers you’ve met at BlogPaws Conferences 🙂
Well said Sugar’s mom! Love Dolly
So glad you were able to attend. I am hoping to make it next year!
I loved meeting you Ros, and enjoyed the time we spent together. 🙂
I think the best part was how comfortable I felt with all of you, it didn’t feel strange or anything, just like a bunch of friends who had always known each other.
I’m thinking of Vegas next year, how about you?
Great post and spot on. Be sure to add to our BlogPaws Link List, too. I am so glad we met and yes, your shirt is what caught my eye! https://www.blogpaws.com/2013/05/share-blogpaws-2013-conference-blog-posts-here.html
It was so nice meeting you at BlogPaws!!! I couldn’t remember everyone’s names either, even those I really really knew. My brain was just a bit overwhelmed so the memory cells weren’t working. I’m planning for next year and hope to see you there!
Wasn’t it fun! I had a blast at BlogPaws and can’t believe that I was nervous about attending. I will be in attendance each year going forward!
