One of Spring’s beauty are the Canadian Geese that flock overhead and hear their musical “a-hink-a-honk-a-hink-a-honk”. For the past weeks, watching the geese in the pond have been a part of my walks. Two Canadian Geese in particular stand out.
Typically, Canadian Geese sense a dog within a close perimeter. They immediately make these loud “a-hink-a-honk” noises and take flight. These two Canadian Geese stay in the pond. Many says geese are afraid of dogs. I am not sure why and I am not here to harm them. I am just admiring their striking beauty and appearance. The brownish pattern on their back and wings make them an elegant looking bird.

I love to watch the geese too. And I also have a pair that don’t mind me watching them. In fact they swim closer to me. Such beauty. Those last photos are breathtakingly beautiful.
Blessings,
Goose

Did you try and chase the geese?
That last picture is magical.
Those are beautiful pictures of the Canada Geese. Did you see any babies? They are so cute and fluffy.
You are special Sugar – when geese see us they all go into that frenzy of honking – wolf wolf wolf is sounds like they are saying 🙂
Those pics look awesome!
That’s weird that those geese don’t fly off. Glad you don’t chase them like crazy Riley would! Have a great weekend, Sugar! I’ll see your mom next week!
that last photo is absolutely EXQUISITE!!!! I don’t like Canadian Geese. We have TONS of them here and the ones we have are NOT afraid of dogs. One tried to attack me once. Barks and licks and love, Dakota
I love to see, and hear the geese. Those are beautiful shots too.
I’ll bet the two geese were followers of your blog :o) I love the last picture, its absoluety super beautiful :o) Have a beautiful Friday, Sugar and thanks for showing me this beautiful place :o)
Sugar, we are so honored to do this hippity-hoppity-honkity (just kidding, the honk part was for your photo) with you. Thank you for seeing so much beautiful with us and for MAKING it for us in our tags. We are always thrilled when we get to share them with others and we know they bring so many smiles to people’s lives.
Looking forward to celebrating 1 year of seeing beautiful together through hops next month!
that last photo is beyond beautiful, what ever that word might be… double wow
Canadian Geese are beautiful but no one around here wants them…we hope they get out of town and find a new place to live before they ruin our area. They are destructive, mean and so dirty…awful birds but pretty. I think it is even allowed to hunt them at certain times of year because they create so many problems.
They do look beautiful but I am not allowed near water fowl as I can’t be trusted. Nice one Sugar. Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly
The geese are beautiful Sugar…We only see them here for a short time when they stop over for a break…The sepia tones photos are really special…Wishing you a beautiful Friday and a lovely weekend
Very beautiful, Sugar – both you and the geese. We can only imagine that the geese have been chased relentlessly by dogs, hence their aversion to dogs. Here they even use herding dogs to keep them away.
Happy Friday.
Woos – Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
Oh Miss Sugar that is a beautiful post. We love the song of the goose to…..The pictures were wonderful.
Happy See Beautiful day to you.
Love
Bert
Such beautiful photos! We don’t know why the geese would be afraid of dogs like you either Sugar!
We watched these beauties last weekend when we were working at our island. Our Little Bit loves to watch them too.
Your mom took some awesome shots here.
Way to go on your year anniversary.
Have a woof woof day Sugar. My best to your mom. 🙂
We love the sound of geese. There are a pair that nest near here every year-we always look forward to their return. Lovely photos as always!
Canada Geese certainly are beautiful. If only they didn’t leave behind so much poop! It gets impossible to walk down by the neighborhood lake because it becomes wall-to-wall green goose poop! And my dogs want to eat each and every one of them!
Sugar, you golden beauty, what wonderful friends. Your geese are so very regal and we like the pose on one leg. Since we each have six legs, we are all agog about that. Your last photo is so very beautiful.

Seeing Beautiful with my golden BFF is fun

Oh I love Canadian geese. The ones up the road had babies and they are so fuzzy and gray right now. Sugar you’d be a great watchdog for them!
This is a perfect golden moment with the geese, Sugar!
Beautiful!
Happy weekend Sugar!
June
Beautiful pics! That last one is especially gorgeous and frame-worthy!
Isn’t it nice when The Canadian Geese like you. Mine bring their goslings right up to the fence so I can get a good look at them. ~Fenris
Beautiful indeed! We’ve been seeing a lot of geese back in our neck of the woods as well.
Great photos, everything about you and your blog is beautiful, darling Sugar!…Have a fun weekend, precious friend…kisses…Calle, Halle, Sukki
I have nominated you for the Sunshine Award. You can read all about it here: https://thek9harperlee.wordpress.com/2013/05/10/you-are-my-sunshine/. Thanks for getting me through the week!
Hi Sugar! Dog friendly Canadian geese, huh? Riley saw Canadian geese when we were in Fort Wayne, IN at Easter…she really wanted to go up to meet them. Or chase them, I’m not sure which! Thanks for visiting my blog – I sold my books and music at Half Price in Countryside, but all Half Price bookstores buy books, music and movies/TV. There’s one in Highland Park up on Skokie Blvd just north of Lake Cook Rd. Have a great weekend!!
Oh, we’d be crazy excited to see them!
Oh, I thinks Ma just fainted…..Those sepia pics are ever SOOOOOOO beautifuls!!!
I, myself, love the pic of you in the fore ground and the geeses in the background…anything with Sugar in it is beautifuls to me.
Kisses,
Ruby
Those pictures are beautiful and we thinks the geese are beautiful too! We love it when they fly over our back yard and honk at us!!!!
Sugar….
Oh, I love Canadian Geese!! They are so graceful!! You can hear them honking long before ever seeing them flying!! And, yes, they are, indeed, beautiful!! ;-D
What lovely pictures!! Rose, I’m afraid, is a whole-hearted “birddog”, being part Beagle!! She would lick her lips and view those geese as food!! ;op
Love, Raelyn…. Plus Rose, my BEAUTIFULLY UNIQUE “Mystery Dog”!!
so cute! it looks like you are laughing at the geese. heehee

Very beautiful picutres, Sugar! I love the way you look at Canadian Geese gently! You are SO sweet, Sugar! Have a nice Saturday!
Those pictures were truly beautiful. Have a great weekend.
Wow, Sugar! Your Mom is quite a photographer! Bea-u-ti-ful! We added a link to our special walk near the water. (You’ve already seen it. Thanks for the comment!) My Mom is all about “the view.” It makes her relax and she says it gets rid of all her stress. Whatever that is?
Thanks for the great Blog Hop and have fun at BlogPaws! Can’t wait to hear all about it!
~Parker, the Yorkie
They must sense how friendly you are Sugar 🙂
